Wizard Runners

Wizard Runners
Chapter 6's

Standing in the street before Aev and Mr. Joko are six men.

They looked like soldiers or mercenaries, carrying swords and axes,

and wearing armor full of battle.

Aev tries to control his fears, but only

some of it worked. “Are they from the Academy?” he asked, his voice

vibrates.

“Only a few ordinary bandits,” said Mr. Joko indifferently.

“Dealing with them.” He doesn't seem to care a bit.

“Dealing with them?” Aev's eyes widened. Even if

those people were not from the Academy, there were six of them, all armored.

And Mr Joko wishes Aev had dealt with them?

There was no time for Aev to object. The men have already

in front of them.

“We will take carts and horses, and any coins

the one you brought.” The man who spoke was tall, with a bald head

has some deep scars. “Deliver them, and we will

let you go with your life.”

“We can't do that,” Aev unsheathed his sword and

standing in front of the six men, alone.

“Kill them.” The bald man said those words

calmly and without hesitation, it was as if he had commanded the people

another to slaughter a chicken.

Immediately, one of the bandits rushed over to Aev, raising the axe

above his head.

Before the bandit could take down his axe, Aev's sword

darting forward, ripping the man's throat. Blood was pouring from his neck, he

fainting, his face twisted in shock.

Aev had no time to enjoy his victory.

Instantly, the sword of one of the other bandits struck towards him. He nearly

managed to fend it off, but the power of the punch made him stumble into

backside.

He turned towards the face of the bandit and the man

jerked, raised his hand. Before he can recover, Aev infiltrates the

his wrist with a malignant wound.

The bandit blade was sent flying, the severed hand was still

grasping it. Aev followed up with a sharp thrust into his opponent's face,

his sword extended its hand to the man's right eye.

The third bandit stumbled backwards in shock, clearly not

expecting the young man to put up such a fight. Before he could

moving out of range, Aev's sword cuts deep into the side of his neck.

Aev drew his sword free, and the body of the bandit bled

it fell to the ground.

Stepping back, Aev breathed hard. Mindlessly

long, he relied on the technique that Master Joko had mastered in his head

for the last three months.

It was only now that the situation was dire, and Aev's body trembled

when he felt his heart beating fast in his chest.

Undeterred, the remaining three bandits stepped up

come forward. Moving on purpose, they spread around Aev, one in the second

by his side, with the third – tall bald men that Aev thinks are

leader – in the middle.

Briefly, Aev hopes that the death of the other three

this will make these people run in fear. Instead, they seem to

filled with cold anger.

The bandit to the right of Aev moved suddenly, his sword

swung towards Aev with a brutal slash. Aev nearly broke his parry and

almost got cut down there.

At the same time, the bandit on Aev's left hit him

with an axe, exploit the gap the man created to his right.

With his sword occupied by the first person, there was nothing Aev could do

to obstruct.

Aev thought his last moment had arrived, but I don't know

how the man missed, instead of tripping as if he had

stumbled. His momentum took him first to another bandit as he fell into

the ground.

The man with the sword managed to stay standing, but it took

it was a while for him to regain his balance. Just for a moment

the needed. Aev hit some wild wounds on his neck, and he fell.

In the blink of an eye, only the bald leader remained standing,

his expression was filled with killing intent.

The bald man did not hesitate to attack. Soon, the sword

swung forward in a slash that Aev simply put away. Without a moment, pause

he hits again, then again, leaving Aev no time to recover when

he stumbled backwards.

Aev knows he lost the fight. Every moment now,

that bald bandit sword would sneak past his defenses and

dropped it.

Realizing that he can't continue like this, Aev

it suddenly unleashed a series of wild blows. The man fended them off with

smashed his shoulder into the bald man's chest.

The bandit staggered, and Aev saw a gap. Before men

it recovered, Aev's sword found its neck, cutting it cleanly. Bald-headed

the man fell to the ground, and his body collapsed next to him. Blood began

spread out on the road.

Aev stood motionless, panting. He's still alive.

Suddenly, a scream sounded behind him. When

he turned around, he saw a man lying on the ground with a large hole

burned chest. It was a bandit with an ax that stumbled earlier.

After defeating his leader, Aev forgets all about

that guy's.

“Other times, don't be so careless.” Mr. Joko's voice was calm,

it sounded no different from when he instructed Aev.

“Why didn't you help before? I almost died!”

Now, with the danger finally gone, Aev finds himself awash in flavor

the fear and anger that he had suppressed earlier.

“You think I don't?” Mr. Joko responded calmly.

Aev fell silent, remembering the man who tripped right when he

it's about Aev.

“It was you?” He asked .

“I intervened several times,” replied Mr. Joko. “You

not expecting bandits to usually be this slow and clumsy, right?”

“Then why did you make me fight them?” Aev filed

question, but he already knows the answer.

“No amount of debate can replace

actual battle,” replied Mr. Joko. “With these people who

willingly offering themselves for your education, how could I

reject their generosity?”

Sighing, Aev turned to look at the consequences

from that fight.

He felt little sympathy for the people whose bodies

now die without life scattered on the ground. His father died because

the bandit arrows were less than a year before, and in his mind, every bandit

death is an innocent life saved.

Nevertheless, the sight shook Aev. Some

a moment ago these people were all alive. Now, they're dead, and

the sword of Aev.

It took a while for him to get back

his composure.

“Time to collect your income,” Mr. Joko finally

said.

Aev furrowed his brows. “Revenue?”

Mr. Joko pointed at the corpses on the ground. “They should

carrying a lot of illegal treasures,” he said. “Not to mention the treasure they have in

their camp. I imagine it shouldn't be far from here.”

Aev goes through the men's treasure, trying not to be fed up with

the stench of death.

Finally, he gathered their weapons, as well as a little

coins. The armor he left behind. Although it might be valuable, it was covered in

blood and blood condensed, and was simply the thought of removing the armor from the

the bodies made him nauseous.

After that, the search for the camp of the bandits was short. They

found him just a few steps from the street, barely hiding in the

among the trees.

As they search the camp, Aev quickly

eager. The bandits had left behind a small fortune in jewelry and

other valuables, and it wasn't long before his pockets were filled with

gold and silver.

Aev's excitement was a bit dim as he reminded himself

alone where the bandits get their stuff, but it's not

stop him from taking it.

“Now this is interesting,” said Mr. Joko, lifting the talisman

green jade.

In Aev's eyes, there was nothing special about the talisman. That

looks rather valuable, but not more so than any other jewelry they are

discover the.

“What is it?” He asked .

“This Amulet Memory,” replied Mr. Joko. “Magicians

use it to store spells and techniques. And this one ..” His eyes

become empty for a moment. “This one is full of dazzling techniques.”

Looking quite happy, he threw the talisman at Aev.

“Save. In the future, it may help.”

“I can't use it now?” Aev asked.

“It requires magic to use,” Mr. Joko

explain.

He looked at Aev seriously.

“But maybe ..” Mr. Joko hesitated. When he

finally speaking, it seemed like he had reached a decision. “Maybe

it's time you learned magic.”
