Wizard Runners
Chapter 24's

Mr. Joko is silent, and Aev spends his time thinking about the trip

it's in front of him.

Just a moment ago, he believed that he would learn magic with Mr. Joko

by his side to protect him from the Academy and any other possible dangers he may have

face it.

Now, he understood that the journey ahead would be much quieter and

more dangerous than he had imagined.

He glanced at Aang Feng again. Seizures and previous convulsions have been

it subsided, and now he looked peaceful, as if he was just sleeping.

Aev wonders if he will join him on his way to

Shadowflame Society's. Mr. Joko said he would invite her, but Aev hesitated

he'll agree. He had joined them to become Master Joko's disciple.

Now that the man had left, there was little reason for him to remain

with Aev.

When Aev thought about it, he wasn't entirely sure if he would

choose to go or stay with him.

Although it would be nice to have several companies along

on the road, Aang Feng was not the easiest person to be around. And,

he thought, after Mr. Joko left, most of his attention would be on his way

to him. He frowned as he imagined Aang Feng scolding him every time

times he was lazy in his training.

On the other hand, traveling alone would be lonely and dangerous. An after all

the traveler was an easy target of bandits, and on top of that, Aev knew very little

about the region they are traveling in now.

In addition, Aev realizes with a little discomfort that he may be

will miss. Even if the two were not friends, it was good to have

someone to talk to.

Aev was lost in thought as he stared at the night sky, staring

the bright stars in the middle of the black sea, the only sound of crackling flames

bonfires.

Suddenly, a loud breath disturbed Aev's mind. Soon, his attention shifted

to Aang Feng, and he saw that his eyes had opened.

His face was pale and there were dark circles around his eyes, as if he was

haven't slept in a week. But despite his tired face, he,

his expression was very pleasant.

“There's so much Essence!” he said, his eyes widened in wonder. Him

turn to Mr. Joko. “Mr Emberworthy, can I ..?”

“Please,” replied Mr. Joko.

Without waiting, Aang Feng got up. An expression of concentration appeared on his face,

and a moment later, he pushed his right hand forward.

A loud crashing sound rang out, and a few steps away from them, Aev

seeing a huge tree fall down, torn from the ground like the way a

farmers pull grass clumps from the fields.

“I'm so strong!” His expression was one of sheer joy. Once

again he pushed his hand forward, and once again the tree fell down.

After a few trees fell into Aang Feng's magic and the area around

they begin to look like a great storm has passed, Mr. Joko finally

stopped it.

“That's enough, Miss Aang,” he said. “There are some things we should

discuss now.”

Reluctantly, Aang Feng sat down, his expression explaining that he was the same

once not finished exploring his new powers.

“I think this conversation should be done in private,” said Mr. Joko.

He gestured with his hand, and instantly, Aev could no longer

hear it or Aang Feng.

Aev whimpering.

Mr. Joko starts talking, and though Aev can't hear what

said that person, he saw a surprised expression appear on Aang Feng's face.

Surprise turns into something that looks like surprise, then anger,

and he saw the girl moving her hands wildly while her mouth

moving as if he was yelling at Mr. Joko.

The conversation lasted a long time, but all Aev could do was

watching his two friends. As time passed, the look on Aang Feng's face

it went from anger to resignation, and he nodded several times

when Mr. Joko speaks.

Finally, Aev understood that the conversation had ended when Mr. Joko

he raised his hand and gave it a short wave.

“Nona Aang has decided to join you,” said Mr. Joko,

his words were once again heard by Aev.

“You better keep your promise,” Aang Feng said to Mr. Joko, expressionless

a frown appeared on his face.

“I rarely break my promises,” replied Mr. Joko. “Now after you

decide, next, I must seal your Wind Wind.”

“Segel My Realm ?!” An angry expression instantly returned to Aang Feng's face.

“Are you crazy? One thing for me to travel to

Shadowflame Society, but now you want to seal my Realm?”

Mr. Joko calmly told him what he had said to Aev

earlier, it was explained that the seal was necessary to remain hidden from

The academy as they traveled, but he would be able to release it himself

punctually.

At first, Aang Feng looked uncertain, but when Mr. Joko

saying that removing the seal would allow him to learn it

by himself, his face was rather bright. Finally, he relented.

“Alright,” said, sighing resignedly. “But if I can't

unseal it ..”

“How quickly you remove the seal completely depends on your talent,”

At those words, Aang Feng's expression hardened with determination, and Aev could

he said he planned to cancel as soon as possible.

Sealing his Realm only took Master Joko a moment, and immediately,

his face fell as he felt the effect of the seal.

“This is terrible,” he said with a sad look. “I can't feel

Aev is shocked to see his normal confidence but is gone. Without

using magic, Aang Feng suddenly seemed lost, even vulnerable.

He did not have time to ponder the matter any further, because at the

just then, Mr. Joko spoke again, this time speaking to the two of them.

“I'll go at first light,” he said. “But before I go,

I have some parting gifts that can ease your journey,

if only a little.”

With that, Mr. Joko took out two small bags, which he handed over to Aev

and Aang Feng.

“Tas?” Aev asked. A bag doesn't seem like something that will help

the journey, especially this small one.

At the same time, Aang Feng exclaimed, “This bag is empty!”

“True, Miss Aang,” said Mr. Joko.

Turning to Aev, he explained, “This is what is known as a bag

blank. Each of them had their own small, empty Realm, which

you can use it to store things. Go ahead and tie it.”

“How do I do that ? ” Aev ask.

“. Just infuse them with a little Essence This bag is bound, so

taking control of them will be easy”

Aev did as the person said, emitting a small strand of Shadow

Essence – the only type he can use, now his other Realm

unsealed. Immediately, he felt a connection grow between himself and the bag.

Surprise meets Aev as he feels himself aware of what is in the

in bag. Although it was small on the outside, inside he could feel the space roughly

the size of a large room.

Moreover, the space inside the bag was not empty. Half of it is filled

with food, clothes, utensils, – jug filled with water, guess it – and

other items. At a glance, the supply will be enough for a few months,

atleast.

While thinking, he asked, “Can it hold people back?”

“No if you want them to stay alive,” said Mr. Joko with a laugh.

“People and animals can't survive inside the Void Realm bag, though

plants can.

” Aev ask. If that bag kills everyone who comes in, he won't

put his arm in – not to mention that most of the contents of the bag are not located

within arm range.

“You control the Realm inside the bag,” said Mr. Joko. ” With a little

effort, you can control the content. Try . “

Aev once again focused on the bag, and to his surprise, he found him

could easily move the contents with just his mind. With little

encouragement, he could make a piece of dried meat out of the bag.

He took the meat and bit it, finding that it tasted

totally normal.

“In the bag there is travel supplies,” said Mr. Joko, “also a little

golden. Not much, but it should make you travel comfortably.”

Intrigued, Aev once again focused on the bag.

After a while, he found a large chest. He uses

his mind was about to open the chest, and his jaw almost fell when he saw

what's in it. What Mr. Joko called “a little gold” is

wealth, enough to buy not just agriculture, but entire villages.

“That's too much!” said, surprised.

Mr. Joko shrugged his shoulders indifferently. “For witches, gold is not

too valuable. But during your journey, you may

need it,”

Aev nodded, speechless. In short, his mind switched

to Riverbend. The luck that Master Joko had casually given him

it is enough to buy half the city, if not more.

“Finally, I've prepared some scrolls and spells for you,” says

Mr. Joko. “In the bag, you will find a number of Realm Scrolls, as well as

several scrolls and books containing various spells. If you open the Realm

new, I also gave each of you about a dozen Realm Opening Pills, I also gave you,

though I urge you to master your current Realm before opening

new ones. “

This time, Aang Feng was shocked. “A dozen Realm Opening Pills?!” Him

he almost shouted those words, and his eyes widened in astonishment.

Aev looked at him confused. The gold did not even surprise him, but a dozen

pills do?

Looking at Aev's gaze, he said, “Do you not understand? Every Pill

The opening of the Realm was a treasure, easily worth a dozen times more

of all the gold in the chest, if someone is stupid enough to sell one for

gold!”

Hearing those words, Aev's mind went blank. The chest is filled

gold had surprised him, but this ...it was beyond his means.

“You can use this gift as you like,” said Mr. Joko. “But I

suggest you not mention these items to others. Doing

it will bring unwanted attention.”

Both Aev and Aang Feng nodded, grim expressions on their faces as

they understand the danger. If a handful of gold is enough to be stabbed in between

ribs by robbers, the kind of wealth they have now can

pull out the whole team.

With a thought, Aev took two of his most prized possessions –

the book that Master Usep had given him and the green talisman he had looted

from the bandits – and keep it in the bag. Then, he with

carefully hide the bag inside his robe.

“With it behind us, it's time I go,” said Mr. Joko,

stand up. Aev could see he would not waste time leaving.

“Before you go,” says Aev. “Will we meet again?”

For a moment, Mr. Joko was silent.

“With luck, we will meet again,” he said finally.
