Wizard Runners
Chapter 31

Aev opened his eyes slowly and looked at the white wood ceiling in the

above it. He wondered where he was and, more importantly, where he was,

how he came there.

When she tried to sit and look around, she felt pain

he was sharp in some parts of his body, and he realized that he was still

had some injuries.

“Easy, young man,” the voice of a woman is heard from the back of the room.

“You have just returned from the doorstep of death. This will be some

the moment before you wake up again.”

Hearing that voice, Aev ignored the pain and forced himself to

sit. When he finally succeeded, he saw a small haired woman

gray sat on a wooden chair in the back of the room.

“Not much to listen to suggestions, right?” He sighed. “All right

then then. I would suggest you rest more, but

now that you wake up, there are some people who should know about it.”

The woman stood up and walked out the door, leaving Aev behind.

As he waits, he studies the room, and he discovers that

the room was spacious and attractive, with a delimiting carved wood fringe

ceilings, and intricate ink drawings that adorn the walls.

Not long after, the door opened once more, and a large man

a black beard stepped into the room. Aev felt the waves

relief when he saw that the one following behind the man was Aang

Fengs.

The man was about the height of Aev, but he was almost as wide as the height,

with large bulging shoulders and arms, and a barrel-sized stomach. Cover over

his body was a black silk robe with gold embroidery and red decoration, and

along with his long black hair and beard, it made him appear

like a figure that came out of the legend.

“It looks like the young man that caused Little Feng to be so worried finally

awakened.” The man laughed, then added, “Two weeks ago,

my little nephew barely left your side.”

“Uncle!” Aang Feng turned bright red.

When he looked at her, Aev saw that his hand was covered in bandages, and

he wondered what was going on.

“But now, there are things we should discuss,” the man said.

“Young man, there are some things I need to know, and it is better if I

hear it now.”

“Mr Aang?” Aev is unsure how to cope with the man.

“That's my title – at least one of them – but call me

Uncle Bear,” said the big man. “From the looks of it, we might

soon to be family.” He glanced at Aang Feng, then winked at Aev.

“Uncle!” Aang Feng said again, an embarrassed expression on his face.

“Well – Aev, right?” said the man.

Aev nodded, though,

“Can you tell me what happened after Little Feng took Pill KB

Realm?” Lord Aang looked at him attentively.

Aev looked at Aang Feng by asking, and he nodded. He understands

that he had already told the man about what had happened.

“After he took the pills,” Aev started, “the magicians of the Academy started

speaking among themselves. Their leader, Stormleaf, said

that he was planning to restrain Aang Feng for using the Pill of the KB Realm,

and that he wanted to use it to gain influence within the Aang Clan.

Aang Feng's eyes widened, but Lord Aang simply nodded.

“As I expected,” said the big man. “Academy has been a long time

trying to infiltrate the Aang.” Clan

“I will never betray the clan!” Aang Feng looked angry at the

that advice.

“Then they will take you to the Academy and execute you because

using forbidden magic,” said Lord Aang. “Maybe useless like

controlling you, but it will still give them a reason to harass

our clan is even more than they do now. “

Aang Feng paled as he heard this. “Sorry.. I didn't know they would.

use it against us.”

that, they would likely kill you there. You and your friend.”

The big man returned to Aev, then said, “But the story does not end

right there, right? You use magic items to defeat them, I take

– might be something this Master Emberworthy gave you? ”

Aev's heart skipped a beat as he understood that Aang Feng had

telling the man about Mr. Joko. But with Lord Aang already

knowing most of his secrets, he knew there was no point in hiding

any detail.

“When I understood what they were going to do,” said, “I know me

must act. But I couldn't beat them myself, so I ..”

He stopped before continuing. “I took the Natural Opening Pills

given Mr. Emberworthy to me.”

Lord Aang simply nodded, as if he was already suspicious. “I guess more

from one.” He asked .

“Ten,” says Aev.

For a moment, the man's eyes widened in shock. Then, to Aev's surprise, the,

he laughed out loud.

“You took ten Realm Opening Pills? Ten ?!” That body

it was big when he laughed. “You swallowed half the royal treasure, ,

use it to kill the Archmage, and live to tell the story?

Nice work! Nice work!”

“Archmage?” Aev paled. “

“Mati?” Lord Aang was still trembling with laughter. “Very much. Die, die,

it was torn to shreds, and mostly burned. What's left for us to find

just his skull and empty pockets.” Smiling, he added,

“Tas and the contents are yours, but I hope you don't mind if I

keep that skull. ”

” What happened after that? ” Aev asked, ignoring words

last.

The only thing he remembered was the world turning black when he

lost consciousness, but he knew that at that moment, there was still Essence in

in his body than he could survive.

“I can see your display from here,” said Lord Aang. “As can

witches do it on a one-week trip. Naturally, I went to

investigate with some of my people.”

Aev nodded slowly, recalling the sea of Essence that had raged on

in body. He had no idea how big of a spectacle he was causing, though,

but he knew it wouldn't be flashy.

“When we arrived, we found several tens of square miles of land that

destroyed,” Lord Aang continued. “At the middle of it all is Little Feng,

kneel over naked youth.”

“Naked?” Hearing this, Aev turned pale.

“After I wake up,” said Aang Feng with a slight blush, “all

something around the camp was destroyed. I found you a mile or two

from the camp, and Essence must have burned your clothes. Even when I

trying to cover you with a cloak, Essence is still flowing from

your body burns it in seconds. ”

Aev looked at Aang Feng's bandaged hand. “Did I cause

that?”

He hesitated, then nodded slightly. “I tried to help you, but there is

too much Essence ..”

“You might die if we don't find you,” Lord Aang cut in.

“Like that, I managed to seal some Essence inside you.” Her face

seriously changed. “I have to warn you, it's just a temporary solution.”

“Temporary? So I'm still in danger?” Those words did not surprise Aev.

Given the huge flow of Essence that had filled him, it was expected

that there will be some after effects.

Lord Aang turned to Aang Feng, then said, Little “Feng, can you

give us time alone? There are some things I need to discuss

with your friend.”

He nodded, though he seemed reluctant to leave the room. With

the last worried look at Aev, he finally stepped out.
