Cleantha followed Miss Siska who walked straight into a room with a large wooden door.
Although not young anymore, Bu Siska had footsteps that were as fast as Edo, the man who had delivered Cleantha to the villa.
Perhaps all employees of King Adhiyaksa are obliged to have such a character. Move agilely as fast as lightning to perform his duties. If so, then Cleantha sure will be eliminated in the first round.
"Sit Miss," ordered Miss Siska swinging her hand towards the black chair.
"Yes, Mom."
Cleantha shifted her chair very carefully so as not to cause any noise.
In front of Cleantha lay a long table with a thick layer of glass on it. While across the table was sitting a young man in a black suit. The man's eyes hadn't been staring at Cleantha since she had entered the room.
The young man has a pretty attractive face, supported by the appearance of a high-class executive style. But the aura feels cold like a hunk of iceberg. Even his eyes seemed to be able to freeze his interlocutors, including Cleantha.
Cleantha could hear the rumbling of her own heart that wanted to jump out of her chest cavity. Breathing was now difficult, when he had to face one fierce-looking woman and one flat-faced man before him.
"Miss Cleantha, do you know your purpose in this competition?" tanya Ms. Siska started the conversation.
"Of course, Mom. I signed up to be the nanny of the Adhiyaksa Group owner's daughter," Cleantha replied squeezing her own fingers of her hands which felt cold.
"Then do you know who owns Adhiyaksa Group?" ms. Siska squinted her eyes.
"He is Lord King Adhiyaksa."
"Where did you get that information, Miss? We do not list the name of Lord King in the announcement of the competition."
"It just so happens that my older sister works as an accounting staff at the Adhiyaksa Multifinance."
Ms. Siska mangosteen and then type something on her laptop.
"Good, Miss. At least you already know a little about Lord King. Our bosses are authoritative, assertive, disciplined, and hardworking people. He always selects each prospective employee with high standards. Therefore, today Lord King specifically assigned his personal assistant to help me conduct an interview."
Ms. Siska fixed the location of her glasses before introducing the cold man sitting next to her.
"This is Mr. Dion Santosa, Lord King's personal assistant."
Cleantha nodded her head as a sign of respect to the assistant. Surprisingly, he felt that he had heard the name Dion mentioned by someone. Unfortunately, he did not remember who it was.
Ms. Siska looked back at her laptop screen and then turned to Cleantha.
"How heavy and tall are you, Miss?"
"My weight is 46 kg, my height is 160cm," Cleantha answered briefly.
"Miss, you are an accounting graduate with a cum laude grade. Why did you apply as a babysitter? Do you still not have a job until now?" ask Ms. Siska straight to the point.
"Yes, Mom. I've applied to several companies but haven't been accepted yet" Cleantha replied embarrassedly.
"So you're unemployed, Miss. It is only fitting that You are determined to enter a competition that is not in accordance with Your capacity. Maybe you are also experiencing financial difficulties," said Ms. Siska draw her own conclusions.
"Mr Dion, it's your turn to ask Miss Cleantha, now" said Miss Siska respectfully.
The man named Dion shifted his chair closer to the table.
"Miss Cleantha, it says here that your status is single. Don't you have a boyfriend and aren't you in a relationship with a guy?"
Dion's question, which led to a personal matter, stunned Cleantha.
As if he could read the girl's mind, Dion added an explanation behind his question.
"I hope Miss answered him honestly. The Lord King wants a nanny who is single. Not having a love affair. Romance will only interfere with work" Dion stressed his voice.
"I don't have a boyfriend, sir," Cleantha replied honestly.
After receiving Cleantha's answer, Dion made a check mark on the piece of paper he was holding.
"Next Miss, what is your motivation for entering this competition? And if Miss wins a hundred million, what will that money be used for?"
Cleantha took a breath for a moment to calm herself.
"I entered the competition because I wanted to win a hundred million prize. If I win, I will use the money to pay off my debt, sir. My father had a stroke and I had to go into debt to finance his operation."
Dion raised his eyebrows upwards as he listened to Cleantha's reply.
He observed the every movement of Cleantha's body as well as his face. It was possible that the assistant king had secretly mastered the micro-science of expression, so as to detect which people were telling the truth and which were lying.
"As Miss wins, are you willing to be bound by a contract with Lord King for one year? During the contract, you are required to stay in the Lord King's residence. Moreover, Miss must not meet with Miss's family and must fulfill every order from Lord King."
It was in his mind that King Adhiyaksa was a dominant, arrogant and extremely frightening figure. If elected to be the nanny of his daughter, perhaps the King will crush his bones if he dares to make a mistake.
But like crossing the ocean, Cleantha had already reached the middle. He had no choice but to move forward.
"Yes, sir, I'm willing to be under contract."
"Good, Miss. This is my last question."
Dion cleared his throat for a moment before continuing his words.
"Are you still virgin, Miss? I mean is..are you still a virgin and have never had a husband and wife relationship with a man?"
Again Dion's question left Cleantha dumbfounded. He did not expect the man to ask embarrassing questions to the competition participants. Moreover, this matter concerns the honor of a girl.
"Why did Mr Dion ask questions that were unrelated to childcare? He's led to my personal problems. This competition is getting weird,"
cleantha thought she was suspicious.
"Miss, please answer my question. Miss's answer this time will determine whether Miss passes to the next stage or not. And remember Miss must be honest! If later you are proven to be lying, then Lord King will not hesitate to sue you," asserted Dion still maintaining his flat expression.
The man did not seem to feel awkward, despite forcing Cleantha to reveal the facts about her chastity.
"I'm still virgin, sir. I'm not lying."
Dion gave a check mark a second time on his paper. After that, he whispered to Miss Siska.
"Okay, Miss Cleantha, the interview session's over. Come with me to the waiting room. Miss will receive an announcement from us in about two hours" said Ms. Siska standing up from her seat.
Without asking, Cleantha again followed Bu Siska towards the other room in the villa. He himself could not count how many rooms there were in Chrysant's villa.
Ms. Siska preceded Cleantha to a large white carpeted room. There was a row of chairs lined up neatly. Three female servants watched the participants.
If Cleantha had not miscalculated, there were approximately twenty beautiful girls waiting with her in that place. Still two more girls out there.
"The participants are quite a lot and they are pretty. Maybe they are also experienced in parenting small children. My stake is too small to win,"
cleantha thought she was pessimistic.
"Please wait here, miss. I hope Miss keeps her cool and there is no need to chat with the other participants," Ms. Siska said before stepping away.
...****************...
For more than two hours, Cleantha waited for the results of the announcement in anxious expectation.
His legs and waist were already sore due to having to sit for hours without making any movement. The atmosphere in the room was quiet like at a funeral. No participant dared to open his mouth for fear of being disqualified.
Their long wait was just over when the sound of the crackling of the wooden door opened from outside.
All the participants looked in the same direction. Their eyes followed the swing of Bu Siska's steps that walked to the center of the room.
"Good afternoon Miss, Miss. Sorry to keep you waiting so long. I will soon announce the ten participants who are advancing to the next stage."
Ms. Siska touched the screen of the tablet she was holding, then immediately read out the interview results.
"The first to qualify was Jessica Riana, the second, Mirela Ananda,...."
Cleantha listened carefully to the name of the girl mentioned by Ms. Siska. He almost lost hope, when his name was not mentioned until the ninth order.
"I'm not welcome to be a nanny. It must be because I didn't meet the qualifications they wanted,"
inner Cleantha sad.
"And the tenth or last participant to pass is...Miss Cleantha Hastomo."
Miss Siska's words made Cleantha stunned. The woman's voice was like the sweetest song her ears had ever heard. Even Cleantha almost cried because she did not believe the miracle she received.
"For unnamed participants, please go home. Thank you for your participation" said Ms. Siska.
Two servants led the participants out of the room. While the ten participants who escaped remained seated in their seats.
"Miss, tonight you're allowed to go home to pack. Tomorrow at ten o'clock in the morning you must return to this villa. And you have to stay for a few days to follow the next selection."
Ms. Siska paused for a moment to drink a glass of juice given by a waiter.
"From tomorrow, Mrs Zevira Adhiyaksa will judge your attitude. So please keep your attitude and manners, and do your best. Thank you," said Ms. Siska ending her announcement.
