The Wife of the King's Pay

The Wife of the King's Pay
Chapter 109 The Remembered Back

Tonight it was hard for Cleantha to close her eyes. His heart was worried that he had agreed to Almero's request. I don't know why she felt guilty about her late husband for his decision. It is not appropriate for him to vacation in the villa of the King's.

Cleantha got out of bed and took a photo album of her memories with Alvian. There are photos of her wedding, photos of her honeymoon with in Paris, to photos of her while pregnant with Almero.

At that time Alvian forced her to do a photo session to capture the moment of her first pregnancy. Her domestic life with Alvian is perfect. Just remembering it made Cleantha as if she could feel that happiness again.

"Al, believe me I will never betray our love. Even if you're gone, I'll always be loyal to you,"

muttered Cleantha stroking a photo of Alvian with her fingers.

...****************...

Mr. Malik stuffed three large suitcases into the trunk of the car. It was Cleantha, Almero, and Ms.'s luggage. The marina.

Almero looks very enthusiastic. He can't wait to get in the car.

"Titin, Reni, please take good care of the house. Monday morning I was home because Tuesday Almero had to go to school" Cleantha told two of her loyal servants.

"Yes, ma'am, be careful on the road. Have a nice vacation" replied Titin and Reni compact.

"Clea, let's wait a little while until Raja and Bayu come. We better go with them" said Mrs. Marina looks towards the gate.

But Almero continued to sulk, asking that they leave immediately.

"Mommy, let's go," the little boy whined his lips.

"Wait for a while, okay."

It was fortunate that not long ago the King's car entered the gate of Cleantha's house.

"Let's go now" exclaimed Mr. Bayu opening the car window. The king stayed behind the wheel. His expression was invisible as it was covered by sunglasses.

Cleantha nodded. He told Mr. Malik to drive his car following the King's car.

On the way, Almero and Mrs. Marina's asleep. When she reached the villa, Cleantha woke them up.

Almero who was originally still sleepy, suddenly excited when watching the beautiful scenery around him. Same with Ivyna. Both children have the same desire to immediately explore the beauty of nature around him.

Almero took Cleantha by the hand and pulled her out of the car.

"Almero, let's go to the villa first. After that you can walk around."

"No, Mommy. I want to go now" argued Almero.

"Yes, Mommy Clea, let's take a walk into the woods" Ivyna's timpal took Cleantha by the hand.

Drawn like that by two kids, making Cleantha go awry. After all this time, there was still fear in his heart if he had to go into the lush forest. Especially now that he has to take care of two children at once.

"Clea, it's still noon. It's okay if you accompany the children around in the forest to breathe fresh air," Mr Bayu said in support of his grandson's request.

"But, Om Bayu,...."

"Don't force it, Pa. Cleantha has a phobia of forests. He must have been afraid of traveling alone," said the King suddenly chimed in.

Cleantha's face was red. He did not expect the King would reveal his secret in front of Mr. Bayu and Mrs. The marina. It turned out that the length of time did not change the nature of the man who liked to mock his weaknesses.

"King, just accompany Clea and the kids. If it was you, Clea would feel safe."

"Yes, right. Bayu and I will rest in the villa. We are old, not strong if we have to walk far," he said. The marina.

Actually Cleantha was reluctant when she had to travel with the King. But circumstances forced him to comply.

"How are you, Mr. King and Mrs Cleantha," greeted Mang Jaya the villa's guard.

Although it had been over six years, the middle-aged man still had a good memory.

"We're good, Mang jaya. Please take Mama and my father-in-law to the villa for a rest" said the King.

"Good, Sir."

After Ms. Marina and Mr. Bayu are ushered into the villa, they head into the forest.

The king walked in front with Ivyna while Cleantha followed behind.

"Be careful, Honey," said Cleantha tightly holding Almero's hand.

Almero did not stop asking about the various trees, grasses, and plants he saw. This was his first experience exploring the forest.

"Mom, can I look the birds?" almero asked when he saw some birds perched on top of the tree.

"Sure, you can."

"Mom, I want to be taller," complained Almero.

Hearing Almero's wish, the King offers his help.

"Do you want to see the birds with Uncle King?"

Almero seemed hesitant, but eventually he accepted the King's offer.

"Okay, Uncle," said Almero extending his hand.

Not wanting Almero to be disappointed, Cleantha handed her son over to the King. He turned to Ivyna's hand.

Patiently, the King held Almero and showed the birds alighting at the top of the tree. While walking, he also explained the various types of animals he often met when exploring the forest.

Almero seemed very enthusiastic to listen to the King's story.

"Uncle, can I explore the forest when I grow up like you?" ask Almero.

"Sure. I will teach you how to do that."

The handsome boy's round eyes watched the King closely. For a moment he was astonished to see the face of the King who had some resemblance to his father, Alvian.

"Uncle, I think you look like my Daddy. I miss him," said Almero bowed sadly.

The king stroked Almero's hair to relieve the boy's grief.

"Don't be sad, Almero. Daddy's in heaven now."

"But, I want my Daddy back. Uncle, do you want to be my Daddy?"

Almero's question made Cleantha and the King gasp. But quickly the King switched the conversation.

"Let's find another animal."

Almero asked to come down from the king's sling. He wanted to walk along the forest with his tiny feet.

The wind started to blow so hard that it caused the twigs and leaves to sway to the right and to the left. Cleantha became agitated and wanted to take the children back to the villa.

"Master, the wind is strong. The sky was also starting to cloud. We go home now to the villa" Cleantha said.

"Yes," replied the King turning around while still holding Almero.

Cleantha covered Ivyna's head with her hands so as not to fall on the fallen leaves.

As the gust of wind grew louder, an old tree branch broke abruptly.

Cleantha turned her head when she saw that the big branch was about to fall on Almero.

"Almero, lookout!" cleantha cried out in fear.

Reflexively, the King looked up. He embraced Almero's small body that was trembling in shock. Quickly, the King fended off the twig with his right arm. As a result, his arm was scratched by the sharpness of the twig that hit him. Blood flowed from his wound.

"Daddy, are you okay?" Ivyna asked worriedly to see her father bleeding.

"Daddy's just a little hurt, Ivy. Don't worry."

"Sir, thank you for helping Almero. Let me carry it. Later I will treat Master's wounds in the villa," Cleantha said feeling indebted to the King.

Cleantha stretched out her hand to take over Almero, but her son sucked his head in the King's arms. In this kind of stressful situation, Almero felt more secure in the protection of a father.

"Honey, Uncle is hurt. Almero with Mommy."

Almero shook his head.

"Clea, let it go. I'll hold Almero so he can calm down. Soon we arrive at the villa," said the King regardless of his injuries.

Looking at the King walking in front of her, Cleantha recalled her past. The king helped him when his feet were sprained in the middle of the forest. Now the man also saved his son from calamity. Somehow he felt the presence of Alvian in the King.

"Why do I think this way? I can't get carried away. The King is not my husband,"

cleantha's inner self dispels her hallucinations.
