"Clea, let's get up, honey."
There was an Alvian voice calling out to him. Either this was just a dream or she was being trapped in an illusion, but Cleantha saw Alvian being by her side. Her husband looked at her affectionately.
Cleantha cried and hugged Alvian tightly.
"Al, don't go. I can't live without you."
"Clea, stop crying. One day we will be together again. Now open your eyes, honey. Almero is waiting for you" said Alvian.
The soft voice resuscitated Cleantha. As if, he had just been thrown from the quantum world to return to the world of reality.
Slowly Cleantha opened both of her eyelids. Squinting eyes to catch the dazzling white light.
The first face I saw was Keyla's. Then he saw his maid, Titin, there too.
"Clea, you finally came to your senses, too" said Keyla, who sat by Cleantha's bedside.
"Sister, where am I?" cleantha asked weakly.
"You were hospitalized for fainting. I'm afraid you haven't noticed by the time Mr. Alvian's funeral procession begins."
Hearing the word "burial", Cleantha spontaneously rose from the bed. Not caring anymore all his bones that seemed empty without power.
Cleantha removed the infusion hose attached to her hand and got off the bed.
"Where are you going, Clea? You're still weak" Keyla asked in surprise.
"I must accompany Alvian, Brother. I love her so much" Cleantha replied like a daze.
Keyla shook his sister's shoulder slowly to escape the hallucination.
"Conscious, Clea. Mr. Alvian is gone. I know it's hard for you to accept this fact, but try to take her away. Strengthen and strengthen your heart. Remember Almero," said Keyla, calming Cleantha down.
Hearing Keyla's words, Cleantha recalled Alvian's message in her dream. She still has a duty as a mother to look after and raise Almero.
Almero is the only sign of his love for Alvian. Therefore he had to endure this storm for the sake of Almero.
"Sir, when does the funeral start?"
"About two hours, Clea. The funeral is postponed because we are still waiting for the arrival of Lord King. Adhiyaksa Group's board of directors, managers and employees have gathered. There are also journalists who will cover Mr. Alvian's funeral procession" Keyla said.
"Sir Keyla, Titin, please take me to the cemetery. I want to see my husband one last time" Cleantha said.
"Yes, Madam. I brought you a black shirt and a black hood. The lady can change clothes before leaving. I'll help, ma'am," Titin said.
"Tin, tell Reni to bring Almero. Almero has to deliver his Daddy's departure."
"Okay, Madam."
...****************...
"Mommy, why Daddy sleep like that? Is Daddy gonna wake up again, Mommy?" ask Almero plain.
Holding back her tears, Cleantha tried to give an explanation.
"No, Almero. Daddy's in heaven now. He never came back again. But still, someday we can meet him again in heaven" Cleantha said.
Almero's face turned sad. Although she did not fully understand Cleantha's intentions, she seemed to know that she was gone forever.
"Mommy, I miss Daddy so much" said Almero about to cry.
"Me too's. If Almero misses Daddy, we pray for Daddy."
"Okay, Mommy," replied Almero nodding his head.
Cleantha looked at Mrs. Marina stood beside him. His face looked pale and haggard. His shoulders rose and fell, indicating he was still lamenting the departure of his only son.
Cleantha realizes that not only was she hit, but Ms. Marina experienced the same. In his heart, he promised to always accompany and love his mother-in-law.
While Dion looked at his watch restlessly. He had told the King the news of Alvian's death. The king promised to go home to bury his brother. But strangely until now he has not appeared either.
Just before the last second, the King came with Ivyna and Bayu Narendra.
The mourners present immediately turned their attention to the King.
"Dion, am I late? My plane had a delay" said the King in a panic.
"Almost, Sir. Everyone is waiting for the Lord."
As fast as lightning, the King took over his responsibilities as Alvian's older brother.
While Cleantha could only stare bitterly as she watched her husband's body being lowered into a burrow.
...****************...
Finished the funeral, Cleantha and Miss. Marina has not left Alvian.
The king approached Mrs. Marina and hugged her stepmother.
"Mama, let's go Alvian. He must have calmed down up there," said the King, feeling the same sadness.
Actually he himself still could not believe that Alvian would leave so soon. Although their relationship is stretched due to love issues, but still the blood bond is more important than everything.
"King, Mama is now alone" said Ms Marina lirih.
"No, Ma, there's still me. I will replace Alvian to look after Mama," replied the King to his promise.
He used to be indifferent to his stepmother, but now he will change his attitude. The time has come, he must treat her. Marina is like her own mother.
"Thank you, King," replied Mrs. The marina.
The king glanced at Cleantha. His ex-wife, who is now his sister-in-law, looked very sad. His eyes were blank, as if his soul had drifted far away following Alvian's departure.
There was an urge within the King to comfort Cleantha, but he hastily abandoned that intention. In a state of grief, he did not want to trigger misunderstandings between them. It was possible that Cleantha still harbored a hatred for him over the bitter events of the past.
The king turned to look at the boy who was beside Cleantha. The little boy was very handsome, very similar to Alvian as a child. There's no mistaking it, it's Almero, his nephew.
For some reason, seeing Almero made him remember his dead baby candidate. If only he had not acted foolishly, he might have had a son from Cleantha by now. Unfortunately, regret always comes too late.
"Hi, Almero," said Ivyna approaching her cousin.
"Mommy, who is she?" ask Almero confused.
"She is your sister, Ivyna," Cleantha answered.
Ivyna held Almero's hand with a smile.
"Almero, do you want to play with me?"
Almero did not answer. He still seems hesitant because he is not used to Ivyna.
"Ivy, don't bother Almero just yet. Almero must go home with his Mommy, "prevent the King.
"Mommy Clea, I'm sorry" Ivyna told Cleantha.
"It's okay Ivy. Next time you can play with Almero."
The king came forward and extended his hand to Cleantha.
"Clea, steady. I'm sure you can get through all this" said the King, showing his attention.
Cleantha replied with a cold expression.
"Thank you, sir."
Seeing the King approaching Cleantha, Almero looked at him vigilantly. The little boy remembered Alvian's message to keep his Mommy from the bad guys.
"Who are you, Uncle?" almero asked round his eyeballs.
The king crouched down to keep his height level with Almero. He stroked Almero's thick hair while introducing himself.
"I am your father's brother. You can call me Uncle King," explained the King to his nephew.
Almero looked back at the King suspiciously. A moment later, he struggled spoiled at Cleantha.
"Mommy, can we go home now?"
"Of course, Honey," replied Cleantha holding her little son.
Cleantha passes the King and takes Miss. Marina to go home with him.
"Mama, let's go home."
"Yes, Clea."
The king could only stare at Cleantha and Almero's departure without being able to do more.
He realized that his current position was only a sister-in-law to Cleantha.
