While at Daehyun's house, Namgil was sitting in the living room watching TV, letting Jiwon tidy up her things alone in her room because Namgil knew her best friend needed time to think. It just so happened that his uncle, aunt and sister were not home. So, he could be as free as ever in his uncle's residence, without anyone knowing the fights of the three of them and without him having to explain the reason Jiwon left the house.
In his room, Jiwon had almost finished choosing some items that he felt needed to be taken and went with him, from a place he had called home for ten years, even though it was just a small room in a row of servants' rooms, he put all the items he needed into his large backpack. Then, when his hand entered his savings book, he took it out of the bag again, then opened the book. "Hopefully this is enough" he said expectantly.
During this time, Daehyun always meets Jiwon's daily needs. Even Daehyun gave it in excess, though always giving it away with his sometimes demeaning attitude to Jiwon. In addition to living quarters and monthly money, Jiwon also often gets new items or Daehyun used items that she always receives with a smile, without ever daring to refuse the gift of her young master. And the rest of his pocket money, he always set aside to save.
Jiwon did plan to not be forever dependent on the Kim family. He knew there was a lot he had received from the family. After graduating, he was very grateful. Hence, he never expected to continue his education to a higher level again. Jiwon instead dreams of having her own business after she graduates from school, which could be a guarantee for her to start an independent life, despite the shadow of Kim's surname.
To that end, Jiwon made sure there were no documents left behind, especially the ownership of a house in her hometown along with the keys that look a little rusty, which she has been storing well. The house of his parents' deceased. "For 10 years, I've never been there. Can it still be lived? Never be broken," he murmured, smiling with tears streaming down as he suddenly remembered his parents.
Just for a moment, Jiwon immediately swept away her tears. "It's not the time to cry!" he thought and resumed his activities. One by one, he put clothes in his bag, but not the best of the contents of the closet. He only took the cheapest and most ordinary of the contents of his closet, namely the clothes he bought himself with his allowance, not the clothes given by Daehyun who always branded and expensive of course. Not to forget, Jiwon checked the contents of the drawer to make sure there were no important items left behind because there was no way she could have a face if she had to return to this house to pick them up.
For some reason, Jiwon suddenly remembered my words. "Do people see the label on our clothes to make sure how much the clothes we wear? No, right? Cheap or expensive, genuine or fake, can they be sure with a single look? Not necessarily!" He smiled remembering me who was comforting him, before his hand resumed its movement. Then, he was glued as his hand found a box in the corner of one of his drawers.
A box with a simple, but elegant gold bracelet inside that Jiwon bought for Sooyun as she accompanied Daehyun looking for a birthday present for me a few days ago. Not an expensive bracelet like the one Daehyun bought for me, but for himself, it was already at the limit of his ability. "Even I almost spent all my savings on you!" he murmured as he clasped the bracelet.
Jiwon pulled out her phone, pressing every number that referred to Sooyun, the girl. Call after call that he did, but never answered by Sooyun, until finally he gave up and threw his phone with annoyance until the screen died. Similarly, the bracelet in his hand that he threw in any direction. "Why are you this bad to me? Where have our sweet moments gone? Honey, tell me this is all wrong!" he said he was sitting on the floor. He leaned his back against the cold wall of his room, raising his head up, looking up at the ceiling of the room as if laughing at him tonight. "Where were the plans of the two of us? Why do you always lie to me? Can't you just see me once, not Daehyun?" he said he was frustrated to accept the fact that Sooyun was no longer beside him.
Moments later, Jiwon came out with a bag on her shoulder. "It's over?" ask Namgil while getting up from his seat. Jiwon nodded excitedly with both eyes that looked puffy. "Then, I'll go!" bring Namgil. "Do I need to help you?" bargaining while extending his hand when he saw one other bag that was in the middle of Jiwon tenteng, in addition to the bag that his best friend was sidelined on his shoulder. "no need. It's not heavy. I can still bring it myself," Jiwon refused. "okay!" sahut Namgil who stepped first.
"Wait a minute, hyung!" said Jiwon who turned around, then called a servant in the house. "Bi, if the master and mistress are back, please give them this letter" Jiwon said, handing over a letter she had just written to the maid. "What's wrong? Where are you going these nights with a bag that big?" ask the waiter. "Jiwon is going on vacation with me, Bi. So, just tell it like that to your uncle and aunt later," Namgil said to help Jiwon lie. Because the one who spoke was another young master Kim, the servant believed. Jiwon and Namgil walked out of the house. "You sure?" namgil asked as he looked at Jiwon who appeared to be stepping heavily. Jiwon nodded, turned her body to look at the luxurious house full of memories once more, then said, "Come, we're getting out of here!" while patting Namgil on the shoulder and stepping first towards Namgil's car.
However, when I got in front of Namgil's car, "Hmm. hyung, my phone fell while I was cleaning up earlier," Jiwon said, pointing out her broken phone. Namgil who saw it, frowned. "Ck, fall or you throw?" said. "Hehehe... Can I borrow Hyung's phone for a second? I'll pay!" jiwon asked again trying to melt the atmosphere with her crisp-sounding joke. "Indeed, you think my phone is a payphone, this!" sahut Namgil who immediately handed his phone to Jiwon who looked crybaby.
After welcoming the phone, Jiwon pressed the contact icon, then started entering a row of numbers on her screen. Once again, Jiwon tries to contact Sooyun with a number that does not belong to her. He deliberately did so out of curiosity, whether Sooyun would receive or not a call that was not from his number. This time, he hoped that even Sooyun would not accept it. Tut. tut's... Until the serial stops ringing, the call never lifted the recipient of the call. Not just once, he still tried to dial the same number and almost at the end of the dial, Sooyun picked it up.
"Hello? What's up Namgil oppa?" sahut Sooyun across there in his potent tone, as if nothing had happened. Tut. tut's... Jiwon immediately turned off her call and returned the phone to Namgil. Namgil looked at the anonymous call history Jiwon had just made and was convinced that the number belonged to Sooyun. "What else did you call him? From today on, forget about the three of them since the two of us have already been dumped!" said sadistic.
"Or maybe you can make Sooyun come back to you, if you still want to! Maybe your love story will be happy ending like a fairy tale! Who knows!" namgil hesitated, shrugging both shoulders. Jiwon smiled blandly in response. "Hyung, if the end of the fairy tale did exist, now Sooyun would still be in my arms after Daehyun's appearance, but all the fairy tales are just nonsense!" said. "After all, after what Sooyun did with Daehyun, if I heard that word of love again from her lips, I would definitely throw up!" jiwon continued, showing a painful smile with injured eyes. "Haha... Youre right. Let's just spit out girls like them!" sahut Namgil is equally wounded.
"Ah, yes! Your phone's broken, isn't it? Waita minute!" namgil continued, taking something from his car. "Here, my old phone. Incidentally, I bought a new phone this afternoon. You're the one who's wearing it" he said, handing his old phone to Jiwon. "Seriously? It's expensive, you know!" jiwon said reluctantly. "Don't refuse! Just take!" Namgil. "All right, thank you, but I'm planning on changing my number. So, Sooyun and Daehyun would never be able to contact me," Jiwon said. "Do you really want to be like that?" ask Namgil.
"Wait on! I think I got a new bonus number when I bought my new phone. Try to check in the paper bag," said Namgil again pointing to the paper bag containing the phone. "Ah, yes, there is. Can I wear it?" jiwon. "wear. Besides, I don't need it" replied Namgil. "Here, put the number on my phone first" he continued. "Done. Here," he said again, handing the phone back to Jiwon. Jiwon put it back into the paper bag, but her attention was focused on a light brown object that was slightly tucked out of Namgil's old cell phone box.
Slowly, Jiwon pulled the sheet-shaped object. "Money?" he looked at Namgil. As it turned out, during Jiwon's room, Namgil had planned to give Jiwon his old phone. He also deliberately hid some money sheets with a nominal 50,000 won in it, considering the wishes of his best friend Jiwon expressed while on the trip. "Within' like this and no school, tomorrow I want to go to my parents' hometown" Jiwon said at the time and Namgil only said in his heart, "The reason! I know, you're gonna want to get out of this town."
"Thank you! You're gonna need that for your trip tomorrow, but that's all I got in my wallet. Besides, if I give you one of my cards, you'll reject it like that, too" Namgil said. "But then again, I want you to convince your heart. Are you sure you want to go? But if that's what you want, go! I won't stop you, but remember I'm still here! You can call me anytime" Namgil continued, smiling warmly at Jiwon.
"Yes, I'm sure. I guess, it's time for me to study independently" replied Jiwon confidently. "All right, if that's what you want. I'm also sure that you can overcome this problem" Namgil said, patting Jiwon on the shoulder. "All right, thanks for the support. I will spend all this money while remembering hyung, " Jiwon said as she reentered the money Namgil gave her. Jiwon let out a long sigh, "When you guys sit in college, I'll start my life from scratch. Trying from below, the place where I should be and I'll be back when I've succeeded in impressing you" he said inwardly.
Uh! Daehyun's car arrives at his house when Namgil and Jiwon intend to leave the house. From inside his car, Daehyun sees Jiwon stuffing her big bag in the trunk of Namgil's car. He got out of his car and went straight to Jiwon and Namgil. "Where are you going?" he asked without saying anything to Jiwon. "Why silence? Answer it! Where are you going with that bag?" snapped it. Jiwon did not ponder the question at all, even opening the door to Namgil's car, while Namgil chose to get into his car first rather than having to fuss again with his cousin's sister.
"You seriously want to go?" asked Daehyun who lowered her voice, but when her question again went unanswered by Jiwon, she raised her voice again, "If you leave, don't come back tomorrow because you forgot to make me angry today! Then why not just use my car! Why go with Namgil? I gave you a card, too, but you just threw it away. What chance do you have of living alone? Don't you expect you'll be okay out there!" the angry snarl.
Jiwon's jaw hardened hearing Daehyun who came to nag him immediately. "Opportunities or whatever you call it, it has nothing to do with you! I don't expect you to care!" he said, staring hard at Daehyun. "I say again, with all that you and Sooyun have done behind my back, our friendship is over! And I don't need your name in my life!" jiwon continued coldly.
"What are you talking about?" said Daehyun who did not want to hear the words of others he did not want to accept. "You're just fucked up right now! So, go back to your room now! I'mtired. I want to sleep," he said. "You may call me fucked up because of how embarrassing it is to be chosen to be the best friend between you and Sooyun! Kim Daehyun, you played really well as a treacherous friend, but you will lose at the last moment!" sahut Jiwon with her flat expression.
Daehyun stared at Jiwon. It was so bad, he punched his best friend in the face, but he didn't want to make things worse. So, he just kept it quiet. While Namgil just watched from behind the glass of his car. "So, now you're talking about who has always been your best friend? What have you probably seen all this time, my friend? But it's sad because it's over like you said!" said Daehyun who also turned cold.
From where he stood, Daehyun told his secretary to open the gate of his house. "Go! Get what you're looking for out there. Maybe a friend! Then, ask yourself, who do you want to be until you can go and get that shit out of here!" evict Daehyun who immediately walked into his house, leaving Jiwon and Namgil who also left the mansion. Now Daehyun himself, wasted his days with Jiwon all this time. He alone extinguished the warmth between the three. Now, his friendship is paralyzed. Trapped when the three say the word love, which they unexpectedly drowns their friendship.
