The Thousand Mask Warrior

The Thousand Mask Warrior
Gayong Silat

The martial arts and combat science of silat that developed in the Malay archipelago has been recorded in its shape in the picture and date in Barabudhur temple or also known as Bore-Budur temple and Shiwagrha temple located in the village Prambanan in the 8th century AD.

Malay silat science with its shape known to have a variety of styles and styles is said to have originated from the island of Riau, spread to Minangkabau.

In this Malay archipelago, it is proven that silat was used by the powerful Srivijaya Union in the 7th child until the 14th century when it expanded its power. While in the Majapahit era, which is from the 13th century to 16 AD, the silat sciences reached their perfection with the use of weapons as well.

From Minangkabau, silat was introduced to the Malay Peninsula through Malacca. In the days of the Malacca Malay Sultanate, silat with a perfect form in battle and warfare is only taught to people from the palace or kingdom, only, so that only the kingdom is able to master the greatness of this silat so as to be able to regulate society and subordinates.

But in Malacca, this silat art eventually leaked and until also studied by the common people. Ordinary people also began to learn the art of silat.

An obvious example is Admiral Hang Tuah who comes from ordinary society tends to be low, even he is said to be born in a rickety hut. He is known as an admiral of the Malacca kingdom which is powerful even to this day into a story that is told to the Malay community because he was appointed as a beginner of Malay style silat.

He himself is said to have studied silat with Sang Adi Putera on Mount Ledang and Sang Persanta Nala from Majapahit on the island of Java.

Starting from the time of Hang Tuah this is a style of silat named gayong or silat dipper began.

During the reign of Sultan Mansyur Shah who ruled from 1459 to 1477 AD in the Kingdom of Malacca, gayong silat was used to conquer Pahang and Kedah which was previously controlled by the Kingdom of Siam.

Then after Malacca fell into the hands of Pranggi boule 30 years later, namely in 1511 AD, Malacca hulubalang led by Hang Tuah's own son, Tun Biajid, was forced to hide into the forest.

From there he led surprise and covert attacks against the Pranggi army and army.

Although in hiding, they were still able to attack the Pranggi forces using their canoegan and silat which is referred to as the gayong silat.

The hallmark of this silat is an attack that attacks quickly, then defend or dodge also quickly, and uses all kinds of weapons and ways to defeat opponents.

The word gayong or tadung in Malay more or less means attacking movement with spears, machetes, swords and so on. But sometimes the word gayong itself already means silat, so the art of gayong already at once means the art of playing silat.

The white-faced virgin also attacked Jayaseta using the original Malacca-style silat styles learned from her grandfather, who was originally from Malacca.

"I'm sorry for my stupidity, nimas, I didn't mean anything bad at all. I plead guilty to coming by sneaking around, but I beg you not to continue this dispute anymore" Jayaseta decided to speak slowly, half-whispering to avoid further fighting.

"Well, the intruder could speak as well apparently. You're a brash and self-destructive man taking shelter behind a mask coming looking for trouble. You suddenly pretend to be a coward like this?"

Jayaseta looked at the grandfather who was standing motionless but had a small smile on his lips.

He looked back at the virgin, "But I don't want to hurt Nimas. Let's just say our problem is over so I can explain the real thing why I had to come by sneaking."

"What kind of words is that?!" the virgin looks annoyed in layers.

"Kisanak, as I said. If you can defeat my granddaughter who's been curious about your silat, then we'll talk" this time the grandfather said.

"Well, Dara. Your grandfather has tried to greet our guests well, but you seem to be welcoming in another way. So get it done, grandfather wants to know his wishes," the grandfather told Dara.

"Don't worry, grandfather. I'll really teach this intruder a lesson!"

Jayaseta bit her lip behind the wooden mask decorated with bird feathers that she was wearing.

There's no other way. He will complete the welcome as soon as possible.

"Again apologies, grandfather, nimas, ...," Jayaseta scatters with both hands towards Dara, aiming to grasp both of the girl's arms and release her scan.

Dara can see Jayaseta's hands suddenly sliding towards her.

He swiftly took a step back, in accordance with the style of gayong silat whose nature is indeed attacking and retreating quickly and nimbly.

Dara thinks that she can read Jayaseta's attack, when in fact Jayaseta accidentally hands over both of his arms.

And this is what happened.

Dara coiled Jayaseta's arms in one fell swoop, then with a startling flexion, she shifted to the side and then re-locked Jayaseta's hands closer to Jayaseta' neck.

This time Jayaseta's hands were twisted and used to simultaneously strangle and lock her neck.

BRET!!

A sheet of scan it was torn in half. Dara was pushed back and almost fell flat on her back.

Jayaseya twisted her body and tried to help Dara by rushing to hold her hand.

Dara saw this as an additional attack. So he brushed off Jayaseta's hand and kicked Jayaseta right in the chest while sticking her back.

Jayaseta was jolted a step back while Dara was ready with his horses back.

Her sweet face was flushed like boiled shrimp, twinkling like lava in the dimness of the night. Amazing his bad taste. Not only did he have to resist all sounds, whether movements or shouts, but also defeat had to be endured.

On the other hand, the masked intruder was also able to play this noiseless fighting game. It feels all-out harassment.

Instead, the grandfather chuckled softly. "Cough doesn't want to ban you, Dara. You must be getting angry right now," he said.

The grandfather then threw something towards Dara after seeing the virgin throw his scan pieces on the floor. "Please continue, Dara," she said, smiling.

Dara caught a dark colored object that was about that length. With the object used as a weapon, Dara immediately attacked Jayaseta again.

Two crosses can Jayaseta avoid without difficulty. But on the third strike which was a stab towards his masked face ...

SRETT!

Jayaseta's amazed! The third attack did not really hit him, but enough to make his attention split so that Dara managed to hit his chest.

Dara's two successful attacks hit his chest, both kicks and punches, not weightless attacks even though they did not really hurt him. Coupled with the emergence of a new weapon that he saw and faced directly.

A fan!

What surprise is this?

The black cloth fan with a sharp tipped iron plate frame was pierced towards the face, but could be avoided with a slight turn, but then managed to scratch Jayaseta's wooden mask when it was opened wide.

Like a weapon in silat science, fans also have a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are wide and long, used with one hand, or smaller and used with both hands.

Fan games by widening and taping it can interfere with the attention of opponents. The opponent will be surprised when the fan is widened, especially with the sound of a quick sigh.

Dara was no ordinary female warrior. It can muffle well the sound of the fan with that fast also tap it.

Like a snake pecking at the victim and returning to its original state, Dara's fan attack can lengthen when widened. This is what makes a scratch on Jayaseta's mask.

The grandfather was still smiling.

Jayaseta took a breath and returned unable to hold her own smile.

He can't lie to himself. Against the warrior girl named Dara is an education and a good lesson in his short life.

Increase knowledge and level of science and its environment. He cannot and should not underestimate anyone, especially if it is an opponent who intends to subdue, defeat, paralyze or bend.

Without Jayaseta knowing, Dara's gayong silat has a nature that can adjust to various circumstances, similar to the No Skill Movement that he developed. So too with his rich use of weapons.

I don't know why Jayaseta thought that the grandfather gave this lesson on purpose. He did not want to be too confident actually, but he remembered how Salman's grandfather the Flying Knife Dancers gave him lessons in a natural situation. Is it possible for the grandfather to match as another teacher by giving him silat through the grandson?

"You still want to play around and belittle me, you intruder? You better prepare yourself for the last time, because this time maybe your neck will break, not your wooden mask that scratched my fan!" dara's half-restrained voice whispered into a double rage and anger.

Damnit damnit! Jayaseta remembered the powerful Pratiwi. He prayed that the virgin would not be the young girl with the demon soul.
