The Thousand Mask Warrior

The Thousand Mask Warrior
Hearing the Enemy's Steps

The four Thai hunters gasped in surprise when they saw the unidentified figure moving unusually fast. Not to mention when suddenly the bonfire in the cave they had witnessed from far away was now also extinguished, leaving a concentration of the night.

The Thai warrior battle mask they wore managed to cover their shocked faces. But it is useless, because the figure is able to read the look of their faces and fears like a lion minting prey.

The spear was directly thrust towards the fast-moving figure of darkness behind the trees and bushes. What happened was the attacker who threw back. His spear was pushed aside easily, while he himself felt a strong push on his chest so he retreated backwards.

Others, one by one, bounce until two steps hit the plant, breaking the branches. It is strange in the dark, both the four Thai hunter men, and the unknown figure should be equally unable to see each other. Instead, they feel they are being played.

It was clear that the figure in a single blink of an eye could strike all four, but chose to push or reject them somehow. It was even possible that the figure did not need eyes to blink in this kind of darkness.

"Sat! He's playing us. Kill that guy. Our village will be threatened if this kind of person is allowed to breathe" exclaimed one of the Thai hunters.

The four struck their surroundings with sharp stabs. Unfortunately, they do so with caution and hesitation, as the night's concentration can make them stab at their own friend wrong.

Each prick finds empty air, or a mere plant.

Again, their bodies jolted backwards, up to two steps away. The figure slipped in the dark agilely and deftly then gave a pat on their shoulders and back hard enough that their steps were dodged. Sometimes, the figure also gave a quick and energetic repulsion by using the palm of the hand.

All of them stumbled upon their own feet, or tucked into the roots and branches of the trees. Shouts of anger rose from their mouths as they continued to try to focus their eyes as much as possible on the search for an unknown figure who continued to crush the horses and their preparations.

The thin steel masks with sad or gaping faces now did not become difficult to guess or make the enemy confused and frightened. The main purpose of the war mask is to make their enemies unable to guess the look of their attackers' faces while making the opponent tremble.

Then who is that figure exactly?

Jayaceta. From the beginning, he had known well that they were being stalked and noticed. His short-sighted instinct was already too sharp for this sort of thing.

Not long ago, he had fought with the pirates, now he had to face foreigners armed with complete weapons.

The problem was, he still did not understand what the purpose of these four people was. They dress like the Siamese in general, including the weapons they use. Therefore, Jayaseta plans not to recklessly kill them. He wants to find out more. Many lives have been lost on his hands today.

He decided to disarm them first.

Strangely, like a hermit who got a wangsit, Jayaseta closed his eyes. He had asked his brothers to put out the bonfire in order to create complete darkness.

In that darkness, Jayaseta instead of opening her eyes wide to look at the enemy, instead, she closed her eyes to feel the darkness converge in her instincts. Jayaseta sharpened all of his senses, besides his two eyes which are now used to absorb the darkness.

The surface of his skin felt the wind blowing, palpating the opponent's movements from the changing gusts of air. His ears became unusually sharp, hearing the enemy's footsteps, the movements of his hands and body, their movements and movements, the sharpening sound of weapons thrust into the air, and especially the sound of their rhymes and swearing.

Jayaseta smile. His body tonight is the eye. Every inch of his skin sends news and warnings. His long-held instincts over the seas and rivers were now released already.

"Thank you for the sea and the river. Now my sensitivity when I was on the ground many times the growth. I can appreciate the situation where I can succeed by having to suffer first. My fears and fears awaken to my other hidden abilities" Jayaseta murmured inwardly.
