The Thousand Mask Warrior

The Thousand Mask Warrior
The Kick of Thunder from the South and the Straight Without a Gait

Jayaseta and Grandpa Keling were standing on a hill not far from downtown Giri on a piercingly cold morning. Although not so far away, but the atmosphere in that place is very different. Calm and still lush with trees.

“Strike me!” said Grandpa Keling suddenly.

“What do you mean, grandpa?” Jayaseta was astonished to see the grandfather standing bare-chested in front of her. The grandfather wore a cloth that he wrapped around his waist and the tip in the middle was pulled up so that the cloth then formed knee-length pants. The morning sun was bouncing on his jet skin.

Jayaseta himself, who also stood bare-chested, wore knee-length pants with a knotted string tied around his waist. Both of them seemed to ignore the cold air floating in the air. Jayaseta has just been practicing her silat moves as usual. Approximately a full year already Jayaseta practicing kanuragan science under the guidance of grandfather Keling after the Mataram army attack where his father was killed. He trained with Keling's grandfather to continue to maintain his fitness and agility, especially because he was seriously injured more than a year ago by Kyai Ageng Plered's spear. His life was almost taken away at that time if not saved by Grandpa Keling. Not only that, the poison and curse of Kyai Plered's heirloom spear penetrated into his body and gnawed at his soul. By training himself, in addition to developing the science of canuragannya, Jayaseta also continued to confine the poison in his Nagataksaka rajah.

“Try me,” Grandpa Keling again repeated his request.

“Grandfather .. I know you have a deep power that I need not doubt. All this time I've been learning how to throw amazing discs from grandpa. Even grandfather also saved me and brought my father's body at once and killed Mataram's army. But what did grandfather mean to tell me to attack ..?”

Uncompleted Jayaseta stopped talking, the grandfather at an unexpected speed attacked Jayaseta. The distance they stood adrift was quite far, but in an instant the grandfather was able to run, then twist his body in the air and release a kick towards Jayaseta.

Jayaseta is shocked, but manages to cross her arms to protect her face and chest.

A TWO!

The grandfather's kick was so hard that it made Jayaseta bounce back but still stand up straight. His hand is a little sore. Not a moment before Jayaseta thought about what was going on, the grandfather attacked again.

Grandpa Keling's attack is very unique where he focuses more on kicks. In addition, the kick is very powerful, it is difficult to believe to see the age of the grandfather who may have reached the age of six or even seventy years. His body is very clayy and flexible, surpassing the Chinese martial arts ala Hongko, Jayaseta's father. Jayaseta was not given a chance to strike again. Grandfather's moves in the form of a spinning kick, a sweep kick, a side kick that continues to refer to the dangerous parts of Jayaseta's body. Jayaseta just dodged, twisted, and fended off those kicks.

During this time Jayaseta tends to practice the moves that have been learned under the guidance of grandfather Keling. Several times they had fought only to hone Jayaseta's skills and sensitivity. But the grandfather actually has never shown his true silat ability, let alone the deep energy that Jayaseta has long sought that is owned by the grandfather.

Training on the science of throwing discs that Jayaseta learned from his grandfather did continue to improve, but Jayaseta did not expect that the teacher also has silat with his powerful moves. These kinds of kicks he had never seen before. Even his famous late father had Chinese silat jutsu that also emphasized the agility of the body also did not have this kind of kick.

Of course when the teacher asked him to attack he was astonished. Hasn't he known Keling's grandfather as a capable discus-throwing warrior and the owner of deep energy science that is also powerful. But for the affairs of science, he had never seen let alone felt directly. May the grandfather deliberately keep this secret ability for Jayaseta when he feels he is ready? A year longer.

Like a storm, Grandpa Keling's kicks were roaring. Grandpa Keling's bare feet are sometimes like a stick of hard wood, sometimes like a piece of loose but entangling mine. Jayaseta inexhaustible, from the heels, the ledges, the instep, the tip of the foot, all of them become a powerful weapon by the grandfather who looks already very fragile.

“Don't think about what style you're going to wear!” said the grandfather on the sidelines of his attack. It seems that he managed to find out the thoughts of the grandson who was thinking about wanting to avenge the attack of the grandfather with what style. Garuda Nglayang, Tiger Claw, Iron Fist, Dragon Claw, Eight Wind Tracker Fist, or what? Hearing this, the young man's intelligence burst forth to the surface.

It is clear that the grandfather was indeed the new Jayaseta silat teacher. He wanted to teach his students in his own way. Jayaseta cheered in heart. He no longer hesitated to face his grandfather. He had also learned the first lesson directly from the teacher, which was to fight without thinking too much. The point is that when he was fighting, he only had to concentrate the minds of the fights themselves. Can't plan what kind of attack to throw or what style he should use.

Jayaseta took a step back to avoid the teacher's attack, then used his straight blows many times so quickly as to break the grandfather's attack. After the grandfather was also forced to retreat due to the attack of the Chinese boxing style, the fight began to attract.

Jayaseta really showed herself as a smart student. This time his attack was countered by the attack of the grandfather. He no longer thinks about the shape of the nurse, but adapted to the needs. When the time allows him to attack with fists, he will attack with fists, but if not, he will attack with any form of style possible. Claws, palms, palm sides, elbows, straight kicks, spins or catches can change arbitrarily.

The manager is now completely out of shape. He turned into an increasingly strange and unique swordsman. If in the past when facing his opponents he changed styles, from one type of silat to another silat style, this time all the moves melted and he used liking.

Jayaseta had heard of the legend of the Formless and Nameless Steps he had long heard in the land of Java. But this is completely different. The manager is not without form, not indescribable, but it is no longer a style. It could not be said to be a move, but it was an attempt to attack and defend naturally and instinctively. All the moves he absorbed, melted and disappeared at once. This is what will become the forerunner of his extraordinary power, the Straight Without a Straight! With the Skillless Movement, Jayaseta will become a swordsman to choose a match on the island of Java.

So many moves passed but did not seem Grandpa Keling tired, even Jayaseta who began to fall asleep. Not because he was getting tired, but he had just learned his first lesson. After all, he is still trying to adjust his new fighting style and rhythm. Until we arrive at the time Jayaseta decided to stop for a moment, “Stop grandpa, stop first .. “

Darling, my grandfather is unstoppable. His kick hit Jayaseta's left thigh, then his grandfather's left leg hit his right waist, once again a straight kick to the chest pushed Jayaseta hard to the back, lastly, the grandfather jumped high and immediately threw both his legs at once again to Jayaseta's chest, like thunder.

BUGS!!!

Jayaseta felt like his chest was hit by a giant hammer so that he could no longer hold his body down to earth. However, as a swordsman, he immediately woke up, set his breathing and retreated away while preparing the horses again. The grandfather was ready to attack, but once again Jayaseta exclaimed as she stroked his chest, “Quite cake. Enough lessons today.”

The grandfather canceled his attack, standing upright – is very surprising the grandfather has not even seen hunchback – then laughed crisply, “Ha ha ha, how my skills young people?”

“What is a cake? I've never seen that kind of kick. What are martial arts from Keling country from where grandfather came from?” Jayaseta asked.

“Ha ha ha,” the grandfather laughed again.

“This man is called Kalarippayattu my grandson. The type of martial art that has long been known in the land of Keling, the land of Hindustan or Jambudwipa. Kalarippayattu is actually a term used as the parent of various martial styles from the Northern part of Jambudwipa. Even according to the story I heard from my teacher, Kalipayattu is the parent of Shaolin moves from China that also influenced your father's fighting style and influenced the silat archipelago a little in the past even though silat later had its own distinctive shape,” Grandpa Keling started telling stories and made Jayaseta nod. One more thing that makes Jayaseta amazed is that the grandfather is also great in practicing kanuragan also has extensive knowledge.

“At that time Vishnu-Shiwa and Buddhism just like in the land of Java, have a friendly and complementary relationship and respect, although also through the ups and downs of relationships.

“This complementing is also on the contribution of martial culture. I myself studied Kalarippayattu from my teacher, my own great-grandfather, but when I reached the land of Java, I also met the extraordinary prowess of the martial arts from this land.

“Flexibility of the muscles but plus speed, agility and strength are very important in their movements. That's why you can feel my own kicks. But actually, the moves that you have faced are not purely Kalarippayattu originals, but the moves of my own creation coupled with the concentration of energy in ancient Java that I learned directly from the descendants of the knights of Majapahit descent. My moves earlier I named the Thunder Kick from the South.”

The grandfather explained that Kalarippayattu which is the Jambudwipa silat in the north is still divided into two large parts, namely Kaluyartippayattu which actually emphasizes more on the legs, the legs, and Kautiktippayattu whose movements emphasize the use of hands. There are many more types of martial arts such as Arappukkai or Tulunadan which is part of Kaluyartippayattu. There are still more children of this style of silat such as Vattayanthrippu or Dronampalli who influence other forms such as Paricchakali, Kolkali, and others, Margamkali and Kambukali are all studied in the South of this Northern part of Jambudwipa. The grandfather of Keling himself is a swordsman Kalarippayattu with Kaluyartippayattu flow.

Jayaseta. The old figure before him now seemed to be towering like a giant. Somehow the life of the grandfather when he was young. How great is it? Why would someone like Grandpa Keling live in this kind of place with circumstances far from prominent. Not the life of a warrior. It could not even be compared to Husein's grandfather or his father who occupied a proud life as a special warrior of the Giri Kedaton kingdom. As a powerful person should Grandpa Keling become the most famous or at least become an important person in the kingdom such as Prince Pekik the powerful for example.

“Now, watch my grandson's movements,” the grandfather prepares his horses again to break Jayaseta's daydream. “I know you have extraordinary intelligence in remembering and imitating the movements of all styles.”

Without lingering any longer, the grandfather released his thunder kicks. His roaring kick slashed through the empty air, but it even showed how powerful the kick was. Jayaseta then observes and begins to understand that the grandfather's kick has tremendous power and fast because he gives space to repel the kick by spinning in the air, release the kick from the flexing of the foot so that it can reach the farthest possible repulsion state. Not to mention the deep energy he had.

“This is called Bali vazhi, using the power of the opponent and turning it over to the enemy,” he said taut. “And this is Bhiman vazhi,” said the grandfather back. This time the movement was very rough and hard. The kick is like a storm and the waves are pounding, “The strength of the body energy is the most important.”

Seeing this Jayaseta did not stay still, his body instinctively moved to imitate the guru's moves. Not only did it imitate, it absorbed the essence of the moves, melted them down and eventually eliminated them because the absorbed essence had entered in its Jurorless Style. All the movements of the guru have been touched and become an addition to his instinctive and natural movements, although he still can not take the energy released from the guru's kicks and punches.

“Ha ha ha .. Nice Jayaseta. Now prepare yourself! My opponent went all out, because I would not hesitate this time,” the teacher's shout split the air and made Jayaseta stretch and instantly prepare herself. He did not expect that the teacher really wanted to continue his fight.

It could be said, this was the fastest silat lesson he had ever experienced. The teacher seemed to understand Jayaseta's ability to master the science of canuragan that he had observed so far. But the magic did not last long, the horses of the newly created No Jayaseta Skill in his mind had to be used directly.

Like earlier, the teacher rolled a clay in the air and gave a cutting kick from the sky. The thunder kick from the south again began. But of course the teacher's attack this time was very different. The weight of the kick is unusually heavy because the grandfather really meant it this time. Jayaseta, whose movements have now been guided by instinct, still feels how great the air around the grandfather's slow kick is becoming.

Lest the teacher add the inner energy that he learned in this archipelago that all he said was indeed combined with the Hindustani soil techniques. As a result Jayaseta became to be vigilant and also more serious about Grandpa Keling's kicks that roared because the wind caused it also gave an unusual influence.

A sideways kick using the palm side hit Jayaseta's chest. He moved to the left a little, but it seemed like the kick was multiplied so much that Jayaseta was forced to drop and roll back. Their distance is getting pretty far now, the space and opportunities that open up this is Jayaseta's time to attack.

Damnit damnit! It turned out that the grandfather could guess the movement of the young swordsman. Once again the grandfather broke Jayaseta's attack. His punch was repelled by the grandfather while slamming his palm into Jayaseta's chest. Although one arm managed to hold the tread by crossing it in front of the chest, the grandfather's powerful energy boost made Jayaseta take a few steps back and fall down.

Before Jayaseta got up, Grandpa Keling with a motion that was very impossible to see his age, already bouncy into the air, spinning a little and throwing the back of his foot into Jayaseta' head. Jayaseta again managed to hold his head with both hands. Maybe this is the actual southern thunder kick. The kick felt heavy!

Jayaseta is not an ordinary swordsman even though he is still young. Every kick with a load that is getting heavier can still be held, fended off or avoided, but this time he is already in a trapped state. The back of the leg came back. Twice, three times, until the defense broke and the grandfather's instep hit Jayaseta's neck and knocked him down. Jayaseta was still able to stand with great difficulty. But the grandfather did not want to let Jayaseta breathe one bit. He slid as hard as **** and returned giving a kick to Jayaseta's chest. The kick went down with no protection at all. Jayaseta was thrown rolling back and forth until five spears away.

That was when my grandfather felt something shocking. Suddenly Jayaseta's body was thrown and now lying on her back shaking violently. The grandfather knew immediately that this was not because Jayaseta was injured by the southern thunder kick attack that he had added with deep force, but something different. He understood that Jayaseta was a powerful young warrior. The kick though great is still not that easy paralyzing Jayaseta.

Jayaseta's trembling body was now accompanied by a heartbreaking loud shout from her mouth. Grandpa Keling retreated. This is what he feared. Now Jayaseta lifts her body. Jayaseta was on his knees, and the grandfather could clearly see Jayaseta's light-skinned body inversely with a stab wound to Jayaseta's left chest that was now darkening.

Miraculously, the Nagataksaka tattoo seemed to drain black blood around the piercing wound of Kyai Plered's heirloom spear. As if Nagataksaka's figure was shining, it appeared to be clearly imprinted surrounding the stab wound. Jayaseta himself suddenly felt an incredible energy flowing throughout his body. Multiply strength and power exploded in every part of his muscles. He felt like a god. His gaze was now sharply piercing towards Grandpa Keling. His fingers hardened to form claws. He growls. Not long after he dyed high raining Grandpa Keling.

Grandpa Keling instantly retreated two spears dodging Jayaseta's claw-like attack. Jayaseta certainly did not stop, he continued to chase the grandfather like a tiger hunting a deer. Jayaseta's attack is still unpredictable, he still uses the No Stroke pattern. But its power and speed are multiplied even greater. Of course this made the grandfather tremble. Jayaseta is possessed by the curse poison power of Kyai Plered's spear which is at war with Nagataksaka.

What can be done, Grandpa Keling is forced to bring out his best abilities. Jayaseta's attack is roaring. The pounding blows led to Grandpa Keling's face, neck and chest. In addition to fending off and dodging, a thunder kick from the south of the grandfather also targeted the parts of Jayaseta's body that were thought to be able to stop this attack. But Jayaseta is like crazy, so there is no need to guess again that the grandfather will definitely be pushed.

When the grandfather jumped to give his kick to the side of Jayaseta's body, at that time the grandson jumped and did the same movement. But much faster. The kick hit the grandfather's ribs so that he fell to the earth. It was the Thunder Kick from the South that belonged to the grandfather that Jayaseta had better imitated.

Not until there, Jayaseta continued to attack like a fidelity. Grandpa was running out of energy. Now he looks really like a grandfather who is fit for his age. One hit Jayaseta hit the grandfather's shoulder, one kick to the grandfather's right thigh, and lastly a straight kick to the grandfather's chest made him strangle.

“Wait, cu!” the grandfather screams trying to stop Jayaseta's attack. But Jayaseta was completely demonized. The attacks are becoming more blind.

While dodging and convoluted from the rush of Jayaseta's attack, the grandfather exclaimed to resuscitate the grandson, “Cu, consciously ... This power is not you!”

Grandfather felt that all this was enough. He has to stop it.

With the remaining strength, Grandpa Keling gathered energy deeply into his right fist. Then with the right circumstances, he punched the fist towards Jayaseta who was still charging towards him.

A BLAR!

Although without a sound, but the inner power of the fist actually exploded like a Pranggi cannon. The explosion also could not be seen with the naked eye, but the results were clear. That wave of fist power hit Jayaseta's chest. Jayaseta jumped back.

Grandfather's last energy that seemed all-out was not hurt Jayaseta, only making him slightly strayed while his eyes still showed great satisfaction. But this is all that my grandfather needed. With this opportunity, the grandfather used it to rush towards Jayaseta, slapping a stab scar on the left chest between the ribs just below the heart.

The slap was not just any slap, but with a slap and deep power that was indeed prepared by Grandpa Keling after the previous burst of deep energy. This slap is like a clap on the head of a lion to keep him quiet and obedient. The lion was a giant of Kyai Plered and Nagataksaka power who fought inside the body of the disciple.

Not until there, the slap was accompanied by tootokan to some point in the Nagataksaka diagram. Making Jayaseta choking and stiff, “Cucuku, fight that power. Concentrate energy in three centers. Head, chest and stomach. Eliminate the energy that churns throughout your muscles. Remember the first time you fought Kyai Plered's poison power when I saved you. That power is just a trick. Just suck your energy all out. You will be left with no energy at all.”

As a swordsman, Grandpa Keling's voice coated with deep energy immediately managed to enter and arouse the soul of Jayaseta who was originally possessed by foreign powers. His body that was stiff immediately limp and was positioned cross-legged. Jayaseta took a deep breath, straightening her back. Concentrating his profound energy to tame the raging lion within his body.

Seeing this the grandfather immediately prepared his inner strength to help the grandson. But then without opening her eyes Jayaseta raised one hand and said calmly, “Grandfather, don't waste your energy. Thanks, I can handle it this time.”

Grandpa sat on the ground. Shocked and amazed because the grandson is able to very quickly improve his ability in everything. In addition, he felt that all his strength had really been sucked out.

Jayaseta opened her eyes. He was much calmer, the lion had been subdued. When he saw the grandfather sitting weak, he immediately realized and immediately he scattered, “Grandfather, how are you?”

“Ha ha ha .. You are indeed my granddaughter, ha ha ha ..”

“Grandfather, why even laugh? Don't worry me,” Jayaseta is confused by this behavior of her grandfather.

“Ha ha ha .. do you think your grandfather is going crazy, huh? Ha ha ha ..” the grandfather increasingly laughs amusedly and holds his stomach.

Seeing this Jayaseta understands what really happened. Grandfather's laughter was a tremendous feeling of relief mixed with fatigue. Unable to be arrested again, Jayaseta also dropped on the ground and laughed out loud with his grandfather, “Ha ha ha ha ha ha ..”.

The laughter of the two teachers said until they were exhausted and lay down on the ground until the sun then rose and the heat began to be felt.
