To understand the political map and cultural relations between countries in Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand and Indochina, where Jayaseta is staying, I used several sources of reading and information. This is needed for the depiction of the social, historical and cultural background of the nations. Here are some important sources for the storytelling of Jayaseta in the land of the Siamese people.

1.      Southeast Asian Warfare, 1300-1900 by Michael W. Charney in 2004. This book is very important and valuable in explaining and describing the types of wars that the kingdoms in Southeast Asia fought in the years 1300 to 1900 AD. The book describes battles on land, sea and river. These include the types of weapons used by the soldiers of various kingdoms and countries, or personal weapons that everyone uses.

2.      The book, Chinese and Indian Warfare from the Classical Age to 1870 by Peter Allan and Kaushik Roy, published in 2015, is also a powerful source for depictions of the war in Southeast Asia the past, especially the late 16th century and early 17th century AD which became the background of the history of the story of Jayaseta. As is known, not a few of the influence of the two big countries on the countries in Southeast Asai in various fields, of course in this case included in the techniques and ways of fighting.

3.      Ethnic Conflicts in Southeast Asia by Kusuma Snitwongse and W. Scott Thompson in 2005 is actually more referring to conflicts that occur in this adult. However, the roots of the inter-tribal and cultural problems have existed since long ago. I tried to take the essence of history the beginning of the problem occurred. Call it in the early days of hostility to the heavily Han Chinese influenced Vietnamese and Mahayana Buddhists, with the Champa people being more influenced by Indian Hinduism and then Islam from the Arabian peninsula, cultural conflict between Thailand and its neighbors.

5.      The Legends of the Fire Spirits. Jinn and Genies from Arabia to Zanzibar by Robert Lebling in 2010. Especially this unique and great book, I used it for the episode ‘ magic war’, especially between Fong Pak Laoya and later facing the Champa people with magic.

Hopefully this notice is informative and provides insight for all of us.
