Chapter 41: The Last Day With Them

"Momo?" Call Master.

"Yes?" My solute.

"Does your body still feel bad?"

"Mh." I'm shaking. "It looks like it's okay."

"Heah, thank goodness." Master breathes a sigh of relief.

"Oh yes, Master. I want to ask you something about my practice."

"Hmm, what is it? Just say it."

It's been the third day since I drank a box full of the potion. Because it tastes sweet, I was addicted to accidentally drinking it all out.

Then after that I felt the world spinning, and fell down as a result of losing balance. I also saw a milk dragon flying above the sky.

Shortly after, the Master came and cast his healing magic on me. The pain in my head was gone, and the milk dragon that flew over the sky earlier also vanished. But after that I vomited and had a very bad stomach pain.

"Today I practiced using magic as usual,"

When I found out that I could become a great magician more than a master, I began to train more and more every day at the waterfall. I memorize the mantra, then chant it, and do it over and over again.

So far, I can use the water magic I first learned with Master. Then as I dabbled in chanting wind magic spells, I could also use some of his basic level spells.

I practiced magic from morning until noon, rested for a while, then continued to practice again until the sore. In a day I can cast spells eight to ten times! If it were to be repeated in a row, I could cast as many as three spells.

As Master said before. The recovery process where mine is now faster than usual. In addition to the factor of eating a lot and getting enough rest, often I practice it can also increase the capacity of mana mine.

After that, it didn't feel like it had been a month since I first met the Master and practiced magic with them. Master said, now I've become quite a great magician.

"Yes. There are only a few small monsters left. Perhaps it could be his training as well to attack using magic."

I can hear whatever they whisper, because my cat's ears are quite sensitive to small or distant sounds.

"Alright, Momo. Come with us to the entrance of the ruins. We're gonna walk in it for a while, and wipe out some monsters together." Answer master.

"Good!"

After a bit of preparation, the three of us set off towards the ruins where Master and his friend were exploring every day. Since they had already found what they were looking for inside there, they had automatically defeated most of the monsters they had encountered during the journey, leaving behind a few weak ones.

The ruins are not too far from the camp. About half an hour walk through the forest, then you will see the entrance in the form of a cave mouth located under a steep cliff. When I looked around for longer, the entrance of the ruins was not just an ordinary cave mouth. 

There are two stone pillars on the door with unique carvings that I think are beautiful. The floor around the place also looks like it is composed of stones with similar motifs, only it has been partially destroyed. Then I could also feel a strong mana flow flowing from within the cave.

"Are you able to sense the flow of magic energy from inside there?" Ask Master.

"Yes! I can feel it! It felt so strong that it gave me goosebumps."

"really? Hehe, before it was even stronger than this, you know. Because our guards have defeated us, the energy coming out of there is reduced by half."

"Let's go in, Master!"

"Are you not scared? The monster in there is big enough to eat you." Ask friend.

"I'll make them more frightened, because I'll eat them!" My reply.

"That's a great spirit." Added.

The three of us went in there, then arrived at the first floor of the ruins. Inside here is not as bad as I thought before. I could see the ceiling of the cave was quite large and spacious, as well as some ruined buildings inside. This place is like a dead city inside a cave.

"alright. There's a monster coming towards us. You ready, Momo?"

"Hm!"

Shortly after, a giant scorpion came quickly towards us. He was alone, and his size was as big as his friend Master's. While he was still far away, I used this opportunity to cast my magic spell.

"Water Ball!" 

Boom!

A large water ball hit and made the scorpion bounce. The monster smashed into the wall behind it until it partially collapsed, yet it was still able to rise after being hit by my magic attack.

"You can't hurt him with just water, Momo. Try using your other magic attacks."

"All right!"

The scorpion came back, but was followed by several other monsters. The noise drew the attention of the many monsters around us. Now in front of me was a scorpion, a spider, and two ants. Everything is big.

I started chanting another spell I learned from Master's magic book.

"Icicle Strike!"

I formed an ice-shaped spear, and fired it at the monsters.

Whush! Whush!

Jem! Jem! Jem! Jem!

It's great!

I glanced at the Master. I hope he'll be proud to see me defeat all four monsters. But, since the two of them were wearing masks, I was unable to read their expressions.

Shaaah!!

Suddenly a big snake came crashing down on us from behind. It was purplish black, and on its head it was slightly widened like a cobra. Or maybe it was a cobra!

"Revelation, Master!"

I tried to warn them. But whether they didn't hear me or anything, the two of them didn't move at all. If they did not dodge, the huge snake could eat the Master and his friend!

With reflexes, I cast a short spell and would probably be useful in situations like this.

"Wind Blow!"

I cast wind magic and directed him to attack the snake. Because around us a lot of ruins, some large chunks of rock along with the wind that I made and hit the snake.

I managed to thwart his attack, and saved Master with his friend. The snake is now staggering, and now is the time for me to cast the final spell on the evil monster!

"Lighting Arrow!!"

An arrow of lightning shot out and pierced through the snake's head. 

The snake fell down, then slowly turned into a puff of smoke and dropped the same crystal as the others.

"Ha, ha, I did it!" With a breath of breath, I tried to hold my body which felt like it was going to fall.

"I didn't think you could be that good, Momo." Master Saying.

"Overriding my guess. You're even better than the rookie witches in the kingdom."

"really?"

"Yes! Now let's go home. It seems that the limit of reckoning will be four times." Master hugged and carried me on top of him.

 I was carried by the Master!? How happy I am.

We reached the camp, and the Master and his friend began packing their belongings. Their tents had been lowered, the fireplaces had been extinguished, and the items had been tidied up.

I could only watch them from where I was standing while holding the notebook that Master had given me. He said I could hold it, and he also told me to never stop practicing next.

When everything was tidy, Master walked up to me.

"We're leaving, Momo." 

"Let me come." My love.

"can't. You still have a place where there are people waiting for you."

"No. No one is waiting for me. L'm... I don't have anyone in the village, not even my parents..."

The master and his friend stared at each other. His friend shook his head slowly, and Master nodded heavily.

"You'll definitely find your place there. You've been through it so far, haven't you? Your friends, your uncles or aunts, or the village elders there. They'll always be there for you."

"I... I'm..." I shook my head, rejecting everything the Master said.

There's nothing I can call a friend in the village. There are no uncles or aunts I still have. I just live alone at home, alone in my room, and...

"Now you can use magic, right? Now you've become a very great witch. You can use that magic to help the villagers, to protect your friends from harm."

They both left. As the day approaches night, they are lost behind the trees.

I continued to be silent where I stood, still holding tightly to the note the Master had given me.

Since then, my face has been soaked with tears. I always wipe it away when it has flooded my eyes, so as not to prevent me from seeing the departure of the Master with his friend.

The sun had sunk, and I was still standing there like a statue. Cold, and finally decided to return to the village.

With this magic that I have, hopefully it can be useful for the people in the village, and hopefully I can get a lot of new friends after this.

Without me noticing, everyone started to surround me from different directions. They pelted with blasphemous words, even with pebbles at me.

"We don't accept witches in our village!"

"They are the damned ones! You're just like humans!"

"Have your parents been very suspicious. It's a fortune they both left the village, but apparently their son is the same."

Nah! Don't get my parents in this shit!

They have nothing to do with it! They don't learn magic like me! They are ordinary villagers like you!

"Go!" Said one of my age.

"Leave our village!"

"We don't want to be friends with a dangerous witch like you!" Even the good girl in front of me, is now throwing a look of disdain at me?

I want to cry. Why...why are they all blaspheming me?

I just want to be more useful to them.

I want to have friends too!

From the direction of the village entrance, came several horse carriages into our village. From within it came countless creepy people with bodies larger than our race.

One of them who had spoken, looked at us all with a creepy grin.
