Chapter 38: Cat Race Village

I called out to the three of them, and told the three of them to stand in front of me.

Riel, Momo, and also the boy. Before I was sure that Riel wouldn't follow me if I made her angry. But unexpectedly, he had instead planned something like this just for the sake of his purpose.

The two of them went to where the horse carriage was parked, and helped the boy prepare a resting place.

"Not to worry. We came peacefully to this village. I just have a little business, and I'll leave as soon as I'm done." Shin tried to persuade the guard, who had earlier pointed his spear at Shin.

"Of course we didn't come to this village for free. We can offer help to you—"

"We don't need your help!" The guard cut Shin's words furiously.

They all looked angry, annoyed, and wanted to forcefully expel us. But the guard was trembling with his spear. What happens to the other ordinary people?

Momo was still silent beside me. The villagers did not realize that one of them was with us. It was because Momo was still wearing a hood to hide her ears.

They all don't accept Momo just because she can magic? But isn't there someone who taught you in this village?

There was no response from the residents to Shin's question. They all remained silent and lowered their heads. Suddenly the heat turned gloomy. Their expressions also began to change, and the crying became more and more so.
