Chapter 16: Towards the City of Deedalee

"Who are you!?" A train driver approached us.

I was still sitting on the floor of the carriage, and Momo was standing right next to me.

"Excuse me, sir. Can you share the place with our other two passengers?" The officer shifted his position and showed us to the man.

The man looked at us with a smiling face like before. He looks like he's in his 20s. 

"Well, you girls are very pretty. I don't mind sharing a seat with you. Please." The man agreed and even praised us. That sounds quite foreign to me, because this position is different from what I often experience.

"Thank you for your kindness, sir. Please come in, ladies." The officer let us in, then closed the door of his room as soon as we sat facing the man.

The man looked at us with a smiling face. I know his smile is warm and looks good. But Momo felt very alert beside me. He could not take his eyes off the man, as if ready to pounce.

The man's clothes were too luxurious for us who only wore luxurious-looking robes. Her clothes look like the clothes of the nobles I know in a fantasy world. Like a Duke. But there was no way a Duke would want to share a room with a stranger.

"I'm so grateful you shared this room with us." I started the conversation. Because I thought that this person was actually not a cold person and avoided speaking from others.

"No need to bother with me, humble lady. If I may know, how am I supposed to call you well?" The man answered my question coolly.

"You can call me Riel, and the girl beside me is Momo." I answered with some doubt. I doubt because I'm not used to the way the nobles communicate with each other. Somebody help me!

"Well, let's find a place to spend the night first. We'll rest before we continue the search tomorrow."

I walked through the crowd with Momo clinging tightly to me. Although quite noisy, but this place is still cool enough for the size of the market crowd plus the station.

On the way, I bought some dinner while asking the merchant where we could find lodging.

I booked a two-person room for a few days. The cost is 4000 Nira per night. It's quite expensive but it's more than enough for me and Momo.

Our room is located on the 3rd floor of the building. Inside there is only a room with two beds, a wardrobe, and a small drawer. This is the inn I know. Not an apartment like Shin's.

I sat on this not-so-so-so-so-soaked bed. This room does not have a bathroom in it, but it is on every floor. So you have to share the bathroom with the other residents. That's the lack of this place.

If I wanted to find somewhere else, I was afraid it was too late in the afternoon and we would not have time to eat dinner and rest. So for now I will accept what is. 

Momo sat on the edge of her bed. He's starting to look tired. It's okay, now is the time for us to rest.

"You want to eat first. Momo's? The bathroom's still set up, so we have a minute." I picked up the package of food we bought.

"All right" she replied briefly.

Momo came to my place and sat next to me, and then she took a piece of her food.

We just bought a sandwich that was a bit cold and some meat skewers. That's enough for us.

"Hey, Momo. Do you remember the guy we met on the train?" I asked while chewing food.

"Yes." Yeah."

"You've been looking very alert since you first saw it. Did you know that?"

"Ordinary people don't really realize who that person is, huh. Even you and the train man."
