Chapter 14: Choice

After finishing the show with the cat, we both went to the room to rest.

The change of clothes that the villagers had lent Momo seemed to fit her well. He looked different from when he was still wearing that shabby robe. I couldn't even hide my facial expression the moment I saw it. I want to pounce on him.

"Mmm, Brother Riel?" Call Momo slow.

"Ya~"

"Can you not look at me like that?"

"Oh, sorry." What's the matter? Suddenly his attitude changed drastically from before.

Her cute face when I touched her ears, and also her rebellious funny behavior when we took a bath together, now where are they going? His face returned expressionless.

"In that case, there's no reason for me to wish you guys." He walked back out of the room. "Thank you for letting me stay here."

"Tu-wait," I also walked following him.

Momo walked down the stairs to the ground floor, then stopped for a moment to look around. I followed him to a stop and also looked around. Is there something he's looking for?

We both got out of the building and walked around the village. He stopped a few times to look around. Such as livestock, fruit and vegetable gardens, and general activities of the villagers. Momo watched them all with her usual expression.

I was just following Momo. As long as I watched her, only a blank look could be seen from her face. Momo looked around while daydreaming about something. That's all I could possibly catch.

It seems I'm starting to understand what Momo is thinking. He must have been remembering the village he lived in before the bandits attacked.

"Momo?"

"..." - ".He didn't answer.

He took note of all the general activities carried out by residents in this village, which may not be much different from the village where he lived. Moreover, he must have felt disappointed that no one was there to lend a hand to him.

I looked over, and used my palm to cover the scorching sunlight, in order to see that distant person.

As soon as I saw her, I waved my hand sign I heard her call.

"Someone is looking for you at the village gate! Come there!"

Ho! There's fans! All right, wait for me.

"okay!" I showed her my thumb. The man nodded and walked back to where he was. That's the gatekeeper I met yesterday.

I have awakened from my daydream. Now is the time to return to activity like someone who is productive, and do not lament the fate continues.

"Momo" call me again.

"..." - ".He didn't answer. But from the blink of an eye after I called out to him, it was a sign that he was listening to me.

"Come with me!" I reached for his hand, then slowly pulled him towards the village gate.

"Anu... Where are we going?"

"Follow it first."

Momo didn't refuse when I asked her to walk with me. The two of us headed towards the village gate, and I continued to clasp his hand.

"Yes, her name is Momo. He managed to escape after being captured by them, then was trying to find help to save his friends." I explained to Shin. This time it should be honest and not excessive. He looks very good at detecting someone's lies.

"Sorry, we can't deal with him. Leave the girl, and we'll go back to town." Shin immediately stated that without thinking.

"Wait a minute, Shin. Why don't you want to help her? Though I'm sure you're strong enough to defeat a bunch of bandits." I stopped his steps towards one of the horse carriages. "I can take down one of them very easily. If we're together, as much as they are..."

"Stop that stupid thought of yours, Riel!"

"Eh?"

Shin interrupted my speech, He also told me to stop talking about helping Momo.

"Why? Why don't you want to help them? Though all this time you've been helping me for no particular reason, then why don't you want to help Momo?" I refuted his talk and continued to try to persuade Shin.

"Riel, I'll tell you. The girl had nothing to do with me, and there was no point in me helping them. Now pack your things and we're back in town."

"Then you don't need a reason to help Momo either, do you?"

We both stopped arguing the moment we heard it.

The cat girl came out from behind my back while holding back tears, her hands were also clenched tightly. While the gatekeeper was just watching us from afar. I didn't realize he was away.

"If you are. if you do not intend to help me. Hiks, then. Then don't fight just because of me!" After saying that, Momo went running into the village.

"Mom!" I tried to stop him, but he wouldn't listen to me.

I couldn't hear her crying, she was always trying to hold it. But from the run I knew he was holding what was stirring in his heart.

I could only see him running from a distance without any intention to chase after him. Is correct. I also had no specific intention or reason to help him. My body refused even just to chase after him.

"Both of my guns are ready! Oohw!!" I sparkled as I looked at the two of them, and immediately embraced them affectionately.

These two pistols are the same black color as the Black Phantom Snake scales I fought last week. Even I could see flashes of light reflecting off the body of his gun. So endearing.

If my Tivon looks like a USP, then my new gun is a bit like a Colt .45.

Come to mama, my new boys.

"I didn't bring the dagger. So let's go home and finish another mission. Remember, the weapon hasn't paid off." Said Shin.

"okay! I'll pack my things first." I accepted Shin's invitation and was ready to go home.

"I'll come along."

"no need. I just want to take my jacket in the clothesline, so it won't take long. You just get the horse carriage ready. I also want to say goodbye to Uncle Reinald." I immediately ran away leaving Shin towards the hunter's warehouse.

"Alright, don't be long."

I brought my new guns with me, too. While walking, I put it on both of my waist, and put the old one into the inventory.

I headed to Uncle Reinald's house to return the jacket I borrowed from him, and took mine that was already dry in the clothesline.

Next I went inside the hunter's warehouse and went up to the 2nd floor. I entered a room that became the room where momo and I rested.

As soon as I entered the room, I found Momo sitting pensively on the edge of the bed. I could see her eyes that were a bit swollen from crying. He must have let go of everything in this room.

"Mom!" Call me out loud.

The cat girl just looked at me without even looking at my eyes. I know you don't want to show someone else your sad face.

"Are you able to cast a large-scale attack magic?" I asked him, still standing in the doorway.

Now his eyes dare to look at me. Although it was still a little hollow, but he nodded in agreement. His Lightning Spear was a one-target attack magic, he must have understood that the large-scale attack I was referring to was not that magic. So he must have kept another much more powerful magic.

"Then, wait for my cue and we'll scorch those bandits!"

The expression on Momo's face suddenly changed drastically. His eyes that are still glazed look back reflect light that slightly entered this room. He showed a big smile for the first time. It was the most beautiful smile I had ever seen since arriving in this world.

"Yes, I understand." One tear fell from his eyes.

The choice I finally made, I'll help Momo no matter what.
