A year ago I finished my study. And this year I've been going through the same magister in the same campus.
Slowly, the name Kuara I was able to keep in the deepest corner of my heart and lock it tightly. Right, it's just a matter of time. Time will set everything about memory a sweet memory.
Today, I plan to return to Indonesia after two years of not returning home. My departure time is about 4 hours away. I sat alone in a cafe at the airport. Staring at the thick snowflakes that fell covered whatever was below. Make visibility thin.
It's midwinter and the snow always falls this thick. This cannot be separated from the effects of extreme climate change due to global warming.
My departure was delayed due to the erratic weather. And if 4 hours later the weather does not improve, then the delay will be extended.
Sipping a little warm coffee helped my body to ward off the cold. Although this cafe room has been equipped with a heater, but seeing the scenery outside it, I feel like I can feel the cold gusts up to my bones.
“How is this? I no longer have a plane ticket. The ticket is over. There will be no tickets tomorrow either. I have to go back today, sir. The day after tomorrow I will get married. Is it not bsia in the works?”
I looked behind me after hearing the man speak Indonesian. And I was very surprised to find out who that guy was.
Yuta!
Yes, he is Yuta. The man who had managed to get Kuara.
Our views meet. Apparently, Yuta was also surprised when he saw me.
“You?” Yuta pointed towards me in disbelief. He turned off his phone and walked and moved to sit in front of me.
“Hai..” I was confused how to say. Honestly, it hurts my heart to see and meet Yuta like this.
I don't want to get the name Kuara out of the corner of my heart. But after meeting Yuta, slowly the name came back up and tore my chest apart.
“Youuu?? I'm sure we've met before. But where?”
Whatisthis? So he remembered me, didn't he?
“You've forgotten me? We used to be rivals.” I said while throwing the smile I forced. I don't want to be impressed by being a coward who hates men who defy the girl of my dreams.
“Ah, you're such a familiar. But I can't remember it.”
“Jeez, Yuta. It's me, Cloud.”
“Ah, yes! Clouds. Is correct. Clouds. Oh gosh. Howareyou? Your face has changed a lot. So I can't remember you right away.”
I chuckled and welcomed Yuta's hand.
”You look much more mature. And getting handsome.”
“It was so ridiculous to get compliments from a fellow man. What are you doing in Boston?”
“I have a little job. I intend to go home today. But no tickets.”
“Are you and Kuara married?” In my heart I cursed my lips that could not brake this. I don't know why I had to ask something that would obviously hurt my own heart like this.
“That's the problem. We'll get married the day after tomorrow. And it's ridiculous that I'm stuck here. No, no tickets. The weather is also not supportive. Gosh darn. I'm confused how to.”
“I thought you were married. Aren't you guys engaged a long time ago?”
“Iya. We were engaged a long time ago. More than two years. Kuara wants to finish her S2 first. She's a great girl. Not long ago he was accepted at the Halim Abhimanyu campus as a lecturer. He was completely focused on pursuing his ideals.
I cringe in annoyance. I don't like to see the twinkle in Yuta's eyes that seem very happy when telling me about Kuara.
“Sorry I'm luckier than you, Cloud. I know that you used to like Kuara. I still don't understand why your struggle suddenly stopped.”
“Think you're luckier than me. Hahahaha.”
I really want to know the state of Kuara. But my heart felt unable to hear his story any further.
“Do you need help? I can help you.” My bargain in the end.
Whatisthis? Am I being kind to my future husband? Why did I offer him help? Argha!
“By pleasure. What can you help? Do you have a private plane? Then let me hitch a ride. Hahahahaha.”
I'm smiling too. “I don't have a private plane. I only have one ticket. And I can give it to you.”
“I won't refuse if it can be done. I don't want to be late for my wedding. Heheheh. But, that ticket is already in your name. How to deal with immigration?”
I'm just smiling. I thrust the ticket sheet stored in my passport to Yuta. Then, I called Ben and asked for his help to take care of the administration about the ticket. This is a small thing for Benjamin Abraham. His family was very influential so he could easily do anything.
“Already. You can exchange these tickets and replace them in your name.”
“Really?” Yuta looks very happy.
“Please take this as a gift from me for your wedding. May you always make Kuara happy. I expect a lot from you.”
Yuta. He just looked at me by raising his eyebrows. Maybe he was surprised by my words.
“Lantas how about you? Don't you also want to go home because there is something urgent?”
“Not as quick as getting married. Hahahaha.”
Yuta smiled. He pulled the ticket and held it.
“Thanks, Cloud. You're very kind. I'll change the ticket price. Give me your account number.”
“No need. How can you pay me a wedding present? Just bring. I already have a lot of money. No need to replace it. Hahahahahhaa.”
“You're this. Then thank you. I'll save this gift fine.”
We spent almost two hours talking. I listen more even though my heart hurts. Yuta always grazes about Kuara. How can I not be hurt?
It seems he was intentional. Does he want to be proud of me? Because he's already managed to get Kuara, right? Sucks.
“If the day after you have arrived in Jogja, come to our wedding party.” Yuta said later.
“For what? You didn't officially invite me.”
“Gosh. Let's just say it's official because the groom's private calom invited you. I currently do not bring the invitation.”
“Hahahaha. I'm kidding. I can't promise. As you know, it is too difficult to get a ticket back to Indonesia in the near future.”
Yuta nodded his head. In fact, I can get it right now by utilizing the influence of the Abraham family.
Come to their wedding? Just be right. It was the same as if I was piercing my own heart with a dagger. And I'm still sane enough not to hurt myself by attending their wedding.
