Parker’s Palace, Waltham Forest (Greater London), UK - 08.30 am.
A quiet and awkward atmosphere was in this dining room that was only filled by the sound of the clanking of the tableware. Yes, this happened to all of us who were at this dinner table for breakfast. The arrival of Mr and Mrs Armstrong here has not surprised me. What surprised me were those two people who did not show any expression, whether it was angry, worried, or upset.
It seems that the most uncomfortable thing at this dining table is the figure sitting between me and Zach. Elisha looked unsettled in his breakfast this time. He occasionally glanced in front of him with his Father and Mother, and occasionally also hid his face by ducking pretending to enjoy his food.
The silence ended when Elisha's voice was heard, "Ehem... Dad I-"
"Finish this breakfast first, we can discuss whatever it is after."
It turned out to only last a little while because it seemed like Mr. Armstrong hated talking at the dinner table. Hearing what Mr. Armstrong said, none of us opened the conversation until the end of this breakfast.
When the breakfast was over, we all sat in the middle room of Zach's palace. Some of the servants had presented an ordinary guest banquet dish that I was sure no one would touch. When everyone was sitting down, the first person to open the conversation said Mrs Armstrong.
"So, Naughty Child, what did you do last night? Your father didn't want to tell me that, Mother, challenge what kind of commotion you've made. I'll try not to cut your story if I'm not upset."
Elisha seemed to be more depressed when his mother asked. Before explaining, he slightly glanced at his father who seemed to have been lazy to comment. He also turned to glance at Zach who seemed to still be annoyed by his actions.
"Emmm... So it looks like I've made an uproar that's hard to forgive."
He lowered his face and seemed to still think of the right sentence to not make his mother angry.
"Yes, go on."
A frown slowly appeared on Madame Armstrong's face that was impatient with Elisha's explanation.
"I... I tried to go to Zach Palace myself without telling anyone. I-"
"Ok, enough. So you're saying you're going here alone, without your bodyguards or anyone you know?"
"No, he left his own bodyguard at the Fuel Charge and ran away in a taxi without telling his destination."
Zach quickly answered Mrs Armstrong's question. And the reaction of Mrs Armstrong was very surprised, so suddenly she leaned her back against the sofa and held her head. Mr. Armstrong, who saw his wife limp, immediately grabbed her arm and rubbed it gently to make his wife calm.
"Oh my goodness, Elizabeth Armstrong! Don't you know it's dangerous. What if you... I don't dare to think of what a bad possibility would be if you did that."
Elisha was drowned and just like Lord Amatrong, I also calmed Elisha who felt very guilty for his actions.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I'm really sorry about what happened. I'm stupid."
Mr. Armstrong who had been silent from earlier finally spoke up, he seemed to have calmed his mind from his great panic last night.
"You admit it's wrong, so don't repeat it. At least. Think about how many people will be worried about what you're doing."
Elisha just nodded his head not daring to look at his parents. Meanwhile, Mrs Armstrong again commented, "Oh my goodness James, my head hurts so much to hear all this. Should we lock him up so he doesn't do any more ridiculous deeds?"
For a few minutes passed and Mrs Armstrong kept repeating her chatter. Fortunately her husband still kept her calm, I guess he also did not dare to cut off every word of his wife. Already satisfied with Elisha, Lady Armstrong again threw his frustration at me.
"Then you. I can't figure out why Elisha would want to be with a guy like you. Geez, don't you know your position. You're a strange, rude man to my daughter, you're not a successful businessman and you're not a noble boy either, I've never even heard of you on any news. How did you come into my son's life? You're just Zach's bodyguard and again we've prepared someone for Elisha. So-"
"Mom, enough! Already, we understand so stop discussing beyond what has happened to me."
For a long time Elisha finally made a sound. He clasped my finger very firmly, it seemed as if he was holding back the vexation with what Mrs Armstrong said.
While I can only tell the forehead hearing the statement of Mrs Armstrong. I stared cynically at Mr. Armstrong who seemed lazy to explain and interfere.
"Oh yes, pardon James, listen! Elisha cut off my words while I was upset with his behavior. Oh my God, this kid is making me dizzy."
I felt Elisha's grasp tighten when he heard his mother complaining to his father. And what Mr. Armstrong did was just try to calm his wife.
"Once you go, you need to rest. Elisha regretted his actions. You better calm down, let's go to the park and take a little walk."
Turns out Mr. Armstrong's appeal to his wife was successful. His wife gave up and still rambled while leaving the three of us. Zach, who did not dare to interfere with this, immediately left us too.
When there were no more three of them in the room, Elisha leaned against the sofa and said, "Ahh, I'm so upset. I just regretted what I did but Mom made me think of pulling out my words of regret."
I'm reluctant to comment on that, I think Elisa's been holding back her sense of regret ever since her mother started talking about our relationship. He glanced at me and took my hand.
"Don't listen to what my mom says. That's bullshit, she didn't even realize her husband was so rude. And..."
He was weighing in to continue, "There was no other man my mother had said, My father never talked about anything with me, not once."
I nodded in understanding, but all I did was enjoy Elisha who was confused to give an explanation of what his mother had said earlier. Looking at me who had not opened his mouth earlier, he finally said, "Come on, Leon say something. You're making me worry that it's quiet, it's weird."
I finally laughed, "Hahahhaha, yes yes yes I understand. Didn't your mother say I was a strange man?"
She shook her head, "No, my weird mother."
I laughed again at Elisha's defense of me. The atmosphere that melted again made Elisha return to his original state. He could smile and laugh so much. In between our jokes, I finally asked Elisha, "Can I collect a gift from my lover?"
He nodded his head, "Of course, what do you want?"
I pretend to think. He looked curious waiting for my answer.
"Emm, I'm actually going somewhere with you, but it's not in England."
"Really, let's go. I just have to ask Dad for permission. I think she'll approve it if she goes with you."
"No, let me do the talking. Anyway, there's something I need to find out for myself from your father."
Elisa squinted her eyes, a sign so curious. But he didn't dispute what I wanted and just agreed. After that, I gave the room for Elisha to prepare himself, it seems like he again wants to argue with his mother again.
...***...
2 weeks later...
Armstrong's Mension, Newcastle (Tyle and Wear), UK - 07.15 pm.
"Is there anything important you want to say?"
Mr. Armstrong slightly justified his reading glasses that were actually not problematic at all.
"Ehem... Your tone isn't like you're asking permission, son. You just want to tell me that?"
I paused for thinking about my tone and said, "Yes, I don't know a better way to ask permission from you, Mr. Armstrong. I heard my father met you a while ago."
Mr. Armstrong finally took off his reading glasses and replied, "I'm even surprised he wanted to visit me for a long time. So... Are you a Broklyn?"
"Hm."
Mr. Armstrong knows my family. I'm not sure he knew from Zach, I think he knew my father before.
Long pensive, Mr. Armstrong's voice again sounded, "You are exactly like the size of Broklyn in my picture. So arrogant and brave, self-informed, coercive, stubborn, acting as he pleases."
My blood was boiling with what I heard, I tried not to curse Old Man.
"You have no mercy at all. But. strangely always subjugated just because of women. Eleanor-"
My eyes grew wide and immediately rose from my seat, "You! How do you know that name?!" I managed to point a gun at Mr. Armstrong.
"Your eyes, you have the same eyes Eleanor has. Woman...bought by a Foolish Broklyn, who had the courage to leave and betray her own surname just for a-"
Dooorr....
The bullet came out of the gun I was holding with trembling hands. Those words torment me, I hate it when someone finds out about my family's dark life.
"Don't continue your words, I'm not merciful Mr. Armstrong. Don't you dare pry into my family's past. I don't pity anyone's life and you know it."
The sound of my gunshot just sounded managed to damage one of Mr. Armstrong's paintings. And it's that voice that's also what's been making a rowdy person out there. Instantly the door opened and several agents in the bodyguard group were surprised to realize that the shot had come from me.
A commotion started to sound, some yelled at me to lower the weapon but of course I didn't. Instantly the noise was silent as Mr. Armstrong raised his hand to make the men silent.
"Bring Elisha with you, I want my son back in the same condition. And stop pointing guns at me, your dad's gonna be pissed if he finds out you broke a painting he gave me."
With mixed feelings, I lowered my pinto. I stared at the painting behind Mr. Armstrong's back. Trying to laugh in a room that is already crowded many people look at me and the lights are quite dim.
I was surprised twice, what the hell. Is Daddy crazy!
It's a Luxy painting, a painting that depicts a portrait of my childhood. I remember the painting in Luxy's underground gallery, worn out and even dusty.
When I was still in shock, I was distracted by the voices of Elisha and Lady Armstrong who entered due to this uproar. Just now I want to explain, Mr. Armstrong immediately interjected and said if he lent me a weapon and it did not make sense that the weapon contained a bullet so that it damaged the painting.
Mrs Armstrong who looked angry but did not want to comment looked cynically at me. Elisha was still standing beside me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the crowd.
He didn't ask and just pulled me into his room. When she managed to close the door of her room I immediately hugged her from behind. I just whispered, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be like that, I'm getting carried away by emotions."
I felt Elisha exhale violently and said, "What did my father say? I'm sure you wouldn't dare like that if my father hadn't said something that hurt your heart."
A feeling of relief filled the recesses of my heart. I don't know what this is, for the first time I feel protected. A woman who even patiently asked the truth when she very clearly saw what I had done. Damn why I was so moved so quickly with only the words of Elisha.
Has my defense begun to be fragile with only Elisha's words? I can't even hide that I can shed tears myself. Yes, it turns out that what Mr. Armstrong said was true, we easily collapsed because of women. But her words really hurt me, how she mentioned my mother's past was really cruel.
While I was still regulating my emotions, Elisha suddenly turned around and saw what had happened to me. She hugged me and rubbed my back gently.
"Oh Leon, what happened to you? Did that hurt you?"
He let go of his embrace and switched to holding the side of my face. He wiped away my remaining tears and kept asking me what was going on. I don't want to talk about it to Elisha, maybe someday.
"I'm fine Elisha, I'm just too..."
I didn't continue what I said, I just stared at Elisha's worries in front of me. The more I looked at him I felt more fragile. Oh my God, I love this woman so much.
Elisha nodded his head in understanding, he didn't ask me any more questions. Ever since that day, Elisha looked so different. He became a psychic who could understand my feelings so quickly. I started not focusing on everything after that day.
But Elisha always brought me back to the real me. He makes me more comfortable every time he meets, the first thing he asks is always, 'is everything okay?' his tone of voice I still remember. And I don't know why he keeps pampering me and not acting out by igniting my emotions.
-
Likewise with today, what he said was, "I've prepared everything, Father and Mother have agreed to it as well. I'll be on vacation with you for a week. Can we start today? Didn't you plan on wanting us somewhere?"
I frowned, "You're serious, today as well? Now?"
"Yes, why not. I told Dereck to put everything I needed in the car. Just waiting for you."
"Oh waw, so you purposely told me to come here to say that? I haven't even set up-"
Elisha immediately cut me off, "No, no, no. We don't need any important preparation for our short vacation."
"It's not short Elisa, one week is enough for our vacation time together."
"So that means we have to sit down to discuss first for one week we can actually start right now without thinking long?"
This woman's base. I'd love to pounce on him.
