Mo Yangcen cursed in silence seeing the people from his clan fail to mess with Weiruo's focus, even those who failed to make pills due to their actions.

Mo Jangyun also could only hold back her emotions seeing how incompetent the two were.

The competition continued and there were often explosive sounds coming from the furnace of the participants. The tension was so felt whether it was from the participants or the audience who saw.

Not waiting for a long time, the appraisers immediately examined the carefully crafted pills and recorded the results of the assessments they gave.

Weiruo looked at Da Feng who was still in his place, the young man gestured support to the girl.

‘It doesn't matter if you fail, you've tried, ' Da Feng's voice sounded in Weiruo's head.

‘I will not fail,’ Weiruo replied to the young man's telepathy.

As it took time to assess all the pills available, the participants were given time to rest before the announcement of the competition winner.

After waiting for quite a long time finally all the participants were collected again. The tension could be clearly felt seeing so many elders from the Golden Furnace Association gathered.

Before announcing the three main winners, first announced the ten participants with the best rating after the three main winners, then the Chairman of the Golden Furnace Association announced the three people who became the main winners of the competition.

Weiruo stepped onto the stage and received a medal as well as a space ring from the association's chairman.

When the two arrived at the city gate, two gate guards confronted them.

“The city is in isolation due to the outbreak spreading within the city,” explained the soldier.

“Evidence? Does the empire already know that?” Weiruo got off his horse and approached the two soldiers.

The two soldiers stared at each other before one of them opened his voice.

The mayor had actually sent a letter to the emperor three days ago, but until now there had been no word from the emperor, either, it only took one day from the small town to the capital on a horse.

“Let us in, I might be able to help.”

The gate guard warrior looked doubtful, but upon seeing Weiruo's appearance both finally allowed Weiruo to enter the city.

One of them accompanied Weiruo to see the state of the city. Weiruo and Da Feng left their horses outside the city gates for fear that the two horses might catch the plague.

The soldier drove the two to the mayor's residence which is located far from the city gate.

Along the road Weiruo saw many townspeople who trudged with pain. The houses were tightly closed and only a handful of people came out.

The soldier also explained that since the outbreak, the city residents immediately closed their houses for fear of contracting.

Arriving at the mayor's residence, Weiruo immediately met the mayor and discussed the outbreak that spread throughout the city.

After a long conversation, the mayor took Weiruo and Da Feng to a lake right next to the city, which was the origin of a deadly plague that hit the city.
