Strongest Lady's
Ch. 57-Disease Outbreaks

Mo Yangcen cursed in silence seeing the people from his clan fail to mess with Weiruo's focus, even those who failed to make pills due to their actions.

Mo Jangyun also could only hold back her emotions seeing how incompetent the two were.

The competition continued and there were often explosive sounds coming from the furnace of the participants. The tension was so felt whether it was from the participants or the audience who saw.

Time went on and one by one the participants managed to make their pills. However, not a few of them showed disappointed expressions because the pills produced only had low quality, whereas they were required to make pills of medium quality.

Finally the third round ended, all the participants exhaled a sigh of relief after struggling for six hours making pills.

Not waiting for a long time, the appraisers immediately examined the carefully crafted pills and recorded the results of the assessments they gave.

Weiruo looked at Da Feng who was still in his place, the young man gestured support to the girl.

‘It doesn't matter if you fail, you've tried, ' Da Feng's voice sounded in Weiruo's head.

‘I will not fail,’ Weiruo replied to the young man's telepathy.

As it took time to assess all the pills available, the participants were given time to rest before the announcement of the competition winner.

After waiting for quite a long time finally all the participants were collected again. The tension could be clearly felt seeing so many elders from the Golden Furnace Association gathered.

Before announcing the three main winners, first announced the ten participants with the best rating after the three main winners, then the Chairman of the Golden Furnace Association announced the three people who became the main winners of the competition.

“For the first champion in this competition ... Miss Ruo! With the success of making three pills with high quality!”

Weiruo stepped onto the stage and received a medal as well as a space ring from the association's chairman.

After the announcement of holding a small party for all the participants, it was just that Weiruo had no intention of joining the party so as to directly leave the Golden Furnace Association.

“Sorry, are you right Miss Ruo?” ask an old man who came to Weiruo.

“True. Is there something you need, Mister?”

The old man took Weiruo to a comfortable place before starting the conversation.

“Our Association chief is interested in your amazing talent,” the old man said as a pleasantries before saying his goal.

“Sorry, I do not want to join any association or sect for now,” Weiruo refused.

Weiruo had expected something like this to happen by now. Previously he had already searched for a bit of information and heard if not infrequently the participants would become members of the Golden Furnace Association after the competition ended.

After searching for information it turned out that after the competition many elders would offer the participants to enter their association, just like the old man before Weiruo did at this time.

The old man looked disappointed to hear the rejection from Weiruo. Even after explaining the advantages of joining the Weiruo association still refused.

After being rejected many times, the elder finally gave up and let Weiruo go.

Da Feng greeted Weiruo at the gate, the young man was not alone, seen Ye Nian and the others standing behind Da Feng.

“I didn't think you got first position,” Da Feng said.

Weiruo only smiled faintly and invited them to return to the capital.

Ye Jinhai would not stay too long in the capital since it had been long enough to leave his sect, so after conversing with Weiruo planned to return to the sect.

Weiruo gave a small gift as a parting gift to Ye Nian and Meigui.

“What is your problem with the Mo Clan over?” da Feng asked suddenly.

Da Feng was certainly not sure if Weiruo's matter with the Mo Clan was finished just like that in one night, given how powerful the Mo Clan's power was in the capital.

“Maybe we will finish it today.”

Da Feng exhaled softly before taking out his sword, it seemed like the killing intent he had been constantly feeling since coming out of the city gate was indeed true of the assassins who were eyeing them.

A group of people in all-black clothes appeared before the two of them, a killing intent emanated strongly from the group of people.

A fight soon ensued, neither Weiruo nor Da Feng had any trouble confronting the group of assassins.

In addition to martial skills, the two also did not hesitate to attack with poison which made the killer's movements disturbed.

The fight did not last long, all the assassins were defeated. However, one of them managed to escape when there was a chance.

Weiruo did not stop him, even forbidding Da Feng from pursuing.

“Let their masters realize who they are dealing with.”

Weiruo turned to his horse and asked Da Feng to get on his horse immediately, the girl wanted to return to her home after so long gone.

Da Feng lowered his horse speed, the young man turned to Weiruo who was behind him.

With just a glance Weiruo already understood Da Feng's intentions and immediately agreed, the two of them spurred the horses into a small town that was on their path towards the Imperial Capital of Xifeng.

When the two arrived at the city gate, two gate guards confronted them.

“The city is in isolation due to the outbreak spreading within the city,” explained the soldier.

“Evidence? Does the empire already know that?” Weiruo got off his horse and approached the two soldiers.

The two soldiers stared at each other before one of them opened his voice.

The mayor had actually sent a letter to the emperor three days ago, but until now there had been no word from the emperor, either, it only took one day from the small town to the capital on a horse.

“Let us in, I might be able to help.”

The gate guard warrior looked doubtful, but upon seeing Weiruo's appearance both finally allowed Weiruo to enter the city.

One of them accompanied Weiruo to see the state of the city. Weiruo and Da Feng left their horses outside the city gates for fear that the two horses might catch the plague.

The soldier drove the two to the mayor's residence which is located far from the city gate.

Along the road Weiruo saw many townspeople who trudged with pain. The houses were tightly closed and only a handful of people came out.

The soldier also explained that since the outbreak, the city residents immediately closed their houses for fear of contracting.

Arriving at the mayor's residence, Weiruo immediately met the mayor and discussed the outbreak that spread throughout the city.

After a long conversation, the mayor took Weiruo and Da Feng to a lake right next to the city, which was the origin of a deadly plague that hit the city.
