Ch. 10-Blood Swallow

“Brother Ma, I just slightly dilute the atmosphere.”

The woman, called Sister Mao, gave a small smile before returning to the crystal ball lined up on the table.

Meanwhile, on the other hand Weiruo and Xiao Lang had already resumed their journey.

Since the spiritual beasts had higher points, Weiruo invited Xiao Lang to go deeper into the forest, as there were definitely more spiritual animals than in the forest periphery.

“Lang, earlier ... thanks for thinking about my pride.” Weiruo smiled faintly and glanced briefly at the figure of the young man walking beside him.

“Ya.”

“Ah! There's deer!” Weiruo pulled his dagger quickly and dashed towards a deer that stood not far from them.

The deer noticed Weiruo's presence and quickly evaded the girl, but Weiruo quickly caught up and killed the deer.

“The points won't be much just for a deer,” muttered Weiruo realizing if a deer's points won't be too supportive of their number of points.

Xiao Lang did not say much, after storing the body of the deer, immediately invited Weiruo to look for a bigger quarry.

The forest felt so quiet, only the sound of footsteps of the two of them filled the silence.

Xiao Lang's steps suddenly stopped, and Weiruo immediately followed what Xiao Lang was doing. The young man settles in one direction, followed by Weiruo behind him.

“Ular? Very large,” whispered Weiruo.

Seen a snake along the five meters is trying to swallow a deer that became his meal.

Xiao Lang drew his sword, seeing that Weiruo immediately pulled out his dagger and walked around snuggling towards the snake.

Realizing there was a threat, the snake hurriedly vomited its food and immediately attacked Xiao Lang who was running towards him.

Since the snake was still a sapling and had yet to increase its strength, Xiao Lang easily defeated it with the help of Weiruo.

“Simmediately save and go, my feeling is not good,” said Weiruo.

Xiao Lang had not had time to do what Weiruo had asked, a snake of nearly three times the size crashing towards Xiao Lang, causing the ground where the snake attacked to experience severe attachment.

“I've expected.”

Weiruo prepared both his daggers as well as Xiao Lang.

The snake moved quickly to attack Xiao Lang, the young man dodged each attack with ease.

When Xiao Lang managed to evade the snake's attack, Weiruo successfully launched an attack on the snake's body. However, the dagger was not strong enough to pierce through the scales of such a hard snake.

“I spent 35 gold coins for these two beautiful daggers.”

“Slightly her weak point,” Xiao Lang suggested while pointing the eyes.

Weiruo immediately nodded in understanding and prepared himself, waiting for Xiao Lang to distract the giant snake.

‘This is the first monster I've seen in my entire life, may I stay alive after this, Weiruo's inner’.

“Now!”

Weiruo regained his senses from his daydream, immediately grasping tightly the two daggers in his hand and charged forward.

Weiruo moved quickly, as the snake lost its concentration due to Xiao Lang, Weiruo's dagger managed to pierce the snake's right eye deep enough, fresh blood flowing down Weiruo's hand.

The snake rebelled in pain, Weiruo who lost his balance was finally thrown into the air. Weiruo could clearly see the vastness of the forest he was hunting before falling back.

It was fortunate that Xiao Lang realized that and caught Weiruo's body before falling to the ground.

Just after landing, Xiao Lang jumped back to avoid the attack from the tail of the blood snake that was now rampaging due to Weiruo.

Feeling troubled, Xiao Lang took Weiruo away from the place.

“To there! I see no abyss!” Weiruo pointed one way.

Xiao Lang instantly changed the direction of his run and went in the direction indicated by Weiruo. After a while the two arrived at the edge of a ravine.

“We do as before then drop him,” advice Weiruo.

“Good.”

A moment later the blood snake caught up, the anger in his eyes looked at Xiao Lang who was standing before him fearlessly.

The snake charged towards Xiao Lang, the young man only readied the horses before charging forward at the same time.

“Shadow Sword Technique: Shadow Puncture!”

Xiao Lang darted swiftly past the snake, a second later blood spewed out from the puncture wound of Xiao Lang's sword technique. Although not deep, the wound is enough to injure the snake.

Xiao Lang attacked again, now more serious because the snake looked angry to see Xiao Lang who dared to hurt him.

Xiao Lang slashed and poured a deep energy into his sword. When the snake managed to resist the attack with its harder scalp, Weiruo emerged from behind Xiao Lang and managed to injure the snake's left eye.

Unlike before, Weiruo managed to land quite well.

It was just that luck was still not on Weiruo's side, the snake again swung its tail brutally because of the pain it felt. Unable to predict the movement of his tail, Weiruo was thrown due to the swing of the snake's tail.

Weiruo's body was thrown so far away that it finally fell into an abyss that was basically not even visible due to the fog.

Xiao Lang ran as soon as possible after seeing that. However, his view was so limited due to the fog that covered almost the entire ravine.

Xiao Lang leaped up high and quickly drew his sword into the snake's head. Because it has been fed with the energy in, the sword becomes easier to penetrate the head of the snake, plus there is no resistance because the snake has lost enough energy just to rampage in pain.

The snake fell to the ground after a moment of rebellion. Xiao Lang immediately kept the snake's body after confirming it was completely dead.

Xiao Lang observed the abyss that was still covered in fog even though it was daytime, no wonder the forest where the festival was held was called the Fog Forest.

“Nona!” call Xiao Lang, but there is not the slightest response.

There were only two possibilities that Xiao Lang was thinking about right now. First, the abyss was not so deep that Weiruo managed to hold on, given how good the girl was in terms of martial arts. Second, he died after falling.

The second possibility was the most plausible one judging from how dark the ravine Weiruo fell into was.

Xiao Lang then left the place after observing for some time.
