A few hours later we arrived at the Old Mountain bus counter. My husband gave our fare to the driver. After checking our luggage, my husband called a motorcycle rickshaw to take us home.
A few minutes into the trip, we arrived in front of the house. After paying the rickshaw fare, we rushed inside the house, which happened to be unlocked. My husband brought our suitcases into our room. I immediately removed my hijab and changed my clothes in pajamas.
I rushed to the bathroom to clean myself and took ablution to perform Dzuhur prayer. After the prayer, I lay my body on the bed, because I felt tired. When I sleep, I don't know where my husband is going.
I fell asleep for three hours, and I woke up, because there was a noise from outside the house. With sleepy eyes, I took my hijab and rushed towards the door of the house to ascertain who was noisily outside our house.
I saw my sister-in-law having a fight with a teenage girl grabbing each other's hair. I feel sorry to see my helpless sister-in-law, because her condition is flawed, so unnatural, a physically handicapped person like her being treated arbitrarily.
" Hey, stop what you're doing" I shouted trying to break up their dispute. At that instant, my sister-in-law stopped, while her opponent took the opportunity to harm her by using a stone nearby, perhaps she was possessed by a demon, so she was able to do so.
I tried to help my sister-in-law so that she wouldn't get hurt, but I lost quickly to the girl's senseless movements, causing the head of my sister-in-law. I screamed at the blood coming out of his head.
" Tooloong's... Tooloong", I cried out for protection to the neighbors, because when it happened, the neighbors were busy in their homes.
The neighbors immediately came out of their homes and helped us, they immediately secured the girl who was the perpetrator of the persecution, while the others helped me to bring my sister-in-law to the nearest health center to get first aid from the Medical Personnel.
I don't remember my husband at the time, frantically seeing my sister-in-law. When I arrived at the health center, I remembered my husband, but when I missed my room, I finally sent a message to the neighbor who helped me to tell my husband to come to the health center.
The persecutor has been interrogated in the village chief's office, because we have not been able to give information to the village chief.
My sister-in-law got proper treatment, so the wound didn't get worse. His scalp got five stitches, as a result of the persecutor's actions.
I tried to comfort her, so that she would not be sad and cry again, but it seemed that because I did not understand her language, she was difficult to comfort. I could see the suffering he was going through, he should have been loved instead of being persecuted like that.
A few hours later, my husband and my father-in-law came to the health center to see my sister-in-law. Because the wound was not too severe, so before Maghrib arrived, my sister-in-law was allowed to go home by the doctor concerned.
After we arrived home, we saw the village chief was waiting for us on the porch. He came to talk about the persecution that befell my sister-in-law.
" We have secured the perpetrator in the village head office" said the village chief.
" Your sister should give a description in the village head's office, and we will find the right solution and the best for all of us" he added.
"Well, village chief, we will come to the village chief's office soon to discuss this matter, to be honest, I want the perpetrator to be properly punished, for molesting my sister" said my husband emotionally.
We entered the house, because of Maghrib time, to perform Maghrib prayers. After the Maghrib prayer, we had dinner together in the living room, while talking about our plan to find the right solution.
Because our minds were being overwhelmed, we were not enjoying the food we were eating.
Finished eating, we hurriedly prepared to go to the village chief's office.
The village head's office was not too far from our house, we walked to it, while my father-in-law stayed at home, because we were afraid that his high blood disease could recur, due to this problem.
During the fifteen minute walk, we arrived in front of the village chief's office, and there were already many residents present in the deliberation room in the village chief's office.
" Ashalamualaikum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh, regarding the nak Izak and the victim of persecution are already present in this room. Let's start this deliberation" said the village secretary representing the village chief.
" According to the perpetrator, the victim first asked him to fight, so to defend himself, he had to hit the victim with a stone, causing the head of the victim to be injured" said the village chief.
" Lying, he lied to the village chief, which actually happened, not like that" I said as I heard the assertion.
" So we have not heard the confession of the victim, because he is deaf, we have prepared someone who understands the language and can explain it to all of us" said the village chief.
" How is the truth" asked the village chief to my sister-in-law.
I saw him move his hand to demonstrate it, I didn't understand what he was saying.
" Said, the perpetrator saw Izal give him a hundred thousand, and the perpetrator tried to take the money from the victim, because he wanted to keep the money, his property, he grabbed the perpetrator's hair, because the perpetrator's power was stronger than his strength, he was defeated by the perpetrator, but when he almost lost, the money was almost obtained by the perpetrator, his brother-in-law shouted to mediate their quarrel, and he was defeated, when she stopped wanting to see her brother, the perpetrator hurt her with a stone, and hit her head until she was hurt and bleeding" the translator said.
" So according to Izal, what's the best solution, the perpetrator is still young, if we report him to the police, and put him in jail, the chances are he'll have an even bleak future, but if we give him a chance to change, maybe he can become a better human being" said the village chief wisely.
We were silent to hear the words of the village chief, when at home, we decided to imprison him, but when we heard the words of the village chief, we changed our minds.
What do you think is the best solution yes, in order to give a deterrent effect to the perpetrator, without making his future more bleak and not hurt the hearts of his master and relatives...?
