Love of a Father

Anna arrived at work about 1 hour before starting her working hours. When he came in, his boss was already there.

" Adrian you're here."

" Yes, I just want to check some stuff. Why did you come so early."

" I used to come 1 hour before work."

Anna raised the shop key in her hand by slightly shaking it.

" It's not wrong that I made you a store manager. Oh yeah I bought some sandwiches for you guys."

" Thank you, sir."

Anna seduces Adrian by being formal to him.

As a shop owner, Adrian is a humble figure. He is very close to all his employees like a friend, especially with Anna.

They now have breakfast together in a special room for employees while talking about a lot of work problems until other employees come and join.

As a store manager one of Anna's duties is to lead the morning briefing. Adrian from behind his room just smiled proudly to see him so enthusiastic about doing his job.

Completed the briefing all employees began to do their respective duties, maintain the store and also serve prospective customers of course.

It had not been long since the store opened, they were a little overwhelmed due to the large number of people who had come. Seeing that, Anna smiled happily and encouraged herself.

Adrian, who had been watching for a long time, smiled at Anna's smile.

It was late at night, and it was time to close the shop.

One by one Adrian employees say goodbye leaving him and Anna who are still working on the report.

" You're not coming home?"

Adrian asked as he walked out of his room to go home.

" I have to finish my job soon."

" I'll wait for you."

" No need, you go home first."

" You don't know when your job's done, do you? Danger if you close the store at night."

" There's a security of our trust, right."

" But still I'm worried you're coming home tonight."

" I live in a crowded city, don't worry if I come home in the middle of the night nothing will happen."

His always optimistic nature makes Adrian very amazed. The age range with her was 4 years but Anna was very independent and more mature than him.

Adrian did not respond to his words, he then sat down on the sofa that used to be used by his customers to pay attention to Anna who was so serious about her work that she was not at all disturbed by it.

Almost 2 hours later when he saw his watch when it showed at 9 pm. Anna immediately finished her report and when she saw Adrian sleeping on the couch.

He felt sorry for her, as the store owner he was the busiest when they were flooded with orders or when her jewelry products ran out of stock.

Tired look on the handsome face Adrian, actually Anna did not want to wake him but it was night and they had to go home.

" Adrian, wake up I'm done."

Adrian woke up with sleepy eyes.

" I'm sorry I overslept. What time is it?."

" At 9. If you're sleepy you better not go home, danger if you drive."

Anna who felt bad finally nodded Adrian's offer.

Until Anna's place of residence, she went down and thanked her boss.

" Thank you for today."

" You didn't ask me to stop by your place?."

" huh? Ah.. That's.."

Anna was puzzled by Adrian's words, and she seemed hesitant to answer them. Seeing that Adrian just smiled at the innocent girl in front of him.

" Forgetit. I'll go home now, see you tomorrow."

Adrian passes by with his car leaving Anna still standing. After collecting his consciousness he entered into a building where he lived.

Luckily, in the big city of Los Angeles, he still found a simple apartment that did not drain his pockets.

Working from 11 pm to 7 pm made him exhausted plus he had to overtime because of the work that piled up.

Believed to be a store manager of course it is common for Anna because after all she has to work full of responsibility.

Finished cleaning up, Anna put her body on the bed. He opened his phone to check the incoming messages.

A message from his mobile banking informed him of some money coming into his account. He knew from whom, Anna immediately contacted him.

" Hello, am I bothering you?"

" No Anna, I haven't slept."

"I'm sorry, lately I've been so busy that I rarely call you. You okay?."

" Of course I'm fine. I'm worried about you."

The voice of the old man across there sounded relieved as he heard his daughter's voice.

" I'm fine too. Things are going well, my work is exhausting but I really enjoy it."

" Thank God, son, you sound so happy."

" Yes, you don't have to worry about me. Fathering.. You know I've been promoted, my salary is enough to support my own life, so can you not send me any more money?"

" It's my duty to meet all your life's needs, your hard-earned money you should use for your pleasure."

" But, well, I'm an adult and can take care of myself. I can't repay your kindness but at least I don't want to continue to trouble you."

" What are you saying, son. I never felt you bothering me. I just want you to live comfortably away from me."

Anna's tears began to fall, as she recalled her life story.

" well.. Thanks to you and mom, I can be just like now. You gave me a decent life for over 20 years. Without you, it might be me.."

Anna could not continue her words. He was hard-earned to hold his cry.

" Don't say that again, you're forever my daughter and I'll do anything for you."

The conversation between the two is so heartwarming, a father's heartfelt affection as soon as he feels even though Anna is not his biological child.

His memory returned when he was 5 years old, the accident that he experienced claimed both parents. He was found critical but lucky he could fight for life.

The little girl who lived one day did not understand that life had been so cruel to her. He could only cry because his parents never picked him up in the hospital until a couple came to take him and give him a new life.

At first he did not understand about his relationship with the two strangers, but over time he understood that there was a bond that was established even though he was different blood with them.
