The Problem of Brewing

After collecting a bundle of long grass and large leaves, Alicia started working on making a small basket. He used the tip of his cane to periodically perforate the leaves so that he could weave the grass through it to make and strengthen the basket. When finished, he made a basket with a diameter of sixty centimeters. He then looked for some vines to use as long ropes. After a bit of searching in the forest, he found a long thin tendril that was perfect for the job. He took off the leaf and tied one end to a small stick.

The entire manufacturing process took about an hour to complete. Alicia looked at her creation and smiled. He hopes this will give him good food for tonight. "Now find a place to put it up."

As Alicia was looking around for a decent place to set her trap, she saw a white rabbit with horns protruding out of its head. It feeds on the green leaves of the bushes. Looking at the rabbit in front of him, his eyes started to play tricks on him. The rabbit suddenly became hairless and its bare pink skin slowly turned a dark brown color. Saliva dripped from the corner of Alicia's lips. He quickly shook his head and looked at the plants that the rabbits were chewing on. Seeing that he was eating the leaves with enough heart, Alicia picked up the stone and threw it into the bushes next to the rabbit. The stone hit the bushes causing the rabbit to become scared and leave.

Taking this opportunity Alicia ran forward and grabbed the entire bush and pulled it out of the ground with all the strength she could muster. It took him a few minutes to finish but when he finished he set his trap and then placed a portion of the leaf into the back of the trap. He untangled the tendrils attached to the stick holding the basket very carefully before hiding in a nearby bush and waiting.

His eyes never escaped the trap. If he is distracted by something now and the rabbit takes the bait, he will miss the chance to catch his dinner. Several hours passed and the sun had already passed the highest point in the sky. All this time Alicia had not moved a single bit. Finally, his patience seemed to pay off. Another rabbit with horns on its head appeared. Alicia wasn't sure if this was the same rabbit or not. He watched carefully trying to time his actions appropriately. He clenched a long sharpened stick in his hand and the tendril he had in his other hand. Just as the rabbit went to the back of the trap to sniff the leaves, Alicia went straight into action and pulled the vine that caused the basket to fall onto the rabbit. He ran out of the bush where he was hiding and stabbed through the basket!

"Squeeek!"

A painful scream sounded from inside the basket. Alicia ignored the painful cry while continuing to stab the basket over and over again until the cry stopped. He looked at the blood dripping from his sharp stick and smiled faintly. He really caught a rabbit! He quickly retrieves the basket from his prey to find that his prey is completely dead. Smiling foolishly Alicia picked up the shattered rabbit that was full of holes from her excessive stabbing. He put it in his basket and then started looking for dry wood.

Alicia spent four hours in the forest catching this one rabbit and collecting dry firewood with a tinder. He also found some solid stones that he could use to make sparks. With his belongings sitting in his basket and some wood draped on his back, he picked up a sharp wooden stick in one hand and walked out of the forest.

After returning to the house Alicia skinned and cleaned the rabbit. He hung the rabbit's skin to dry and kept its horns to use as weapons. The horns of the rabbit were long and pointed. It is also very dense so it does not break easily. Doing all these things was easy for him because he was taught how to do it by his father when he was still Akari.

It took a bit of trial and error but he immediately lit a fire and he stuffed the stick into the cleaned rabbit and slowly roasted it on the fire. About fifteen minutes with the rabbit constantly spinning at the end of his wand, the smell of a roasted rabbit entering his nose caused his stomach to rumble.

"I need to eat slowly... If I eat too fast, I will get sick. It'll make all my hard work go to waste." Alicia reminded herself. He would hate himself if he ate too fast just for a stomach ache and ended up spewing out the meat he worked so hard on.

Alicia took almost two hours to finish eating the rabbit meat. The fire was long gone. He leaned against the wall of his tattered hut and patted his now full stomach. "I need a break tonight, then try fixing this old hut a little more."

Alicia had no idea that trouble would come knocking on her door the next day.

The next morning Alicia was awakened by the sound of two men shouting at each other right outside her hut. "I told you*****that little*that won't say anything. He probably died in the woods where we left him!"

"If he dies, then why is there a new fire pit there! Sister****** that's alive. If he tells the Village Chief that we robbed his food, the village chief will drive us out of the village! " A tall skinny man said.

"Sister Berel if the Village Chief cared about that little whore, he wouldn't be stuck leaving her in his hut! He was only waiting for him to reach ten years so that he could sell it!" A short skinny man said.

"Wait, Brother Emory, if we sell it, doesn't that mean we can get some copper coins to use? We can buy good food with that!" Berel's brother wiped a little saliva from his mouth.

"Oh! Why don't I think about that! That damn village chief will keep good stuff from us. Okay, grab a big stick, we'll drop it again and go find a brothel to sell it in town! "
