Phantasia: The Princess Knight
The Magic Step Part One

After filling his stomach to the maximum. Alicia was tired. Even so he still got up and collected the dishes, bowls, and cutlery and brought them to the kitchen area. There was a small sink sticking out of the wall where Alicia put everything inside and started washing dishes. Berlin walked out of his room and walked into the kitchen without a sound. He flicked his finger making his entire body disappear and peeked at the young girl diligently washing the dishes while shaking her head up and down almost asleep in the process of her work. He found this to be a very funny sight.

Alicia had no idea she was being observed all along. He just wants to make himself useful. So, no matter how tired he was, he made sure he washed the dishes and cleaned up whatever mess he made. After he finished he walked out of the kitchen and sat back down on a chair at the table waiting for Berlin to return so he could say a word of thanks and good night. But as he waited his eyes became heavier and heavier until they slowly closed tightly.

Berlin reappeared next to her and carefully picked up the sleeping little girl and took her to her bedroom. He placed her on his bed and pulled the blanket up to his neck. He pushed a bundle of loose hair behind his ear. She gently smiled at Alicia as she spoke softly: "From today on you will be my daughter. Third Princess Alastine, Alicia Von Alastine!"

Alicia slept well most of the night until she started dreaming about her death. He had a dream when he was in the car trying to save the baby and the baby's father. He dreamed of the car falling but never touching the ground. It just kept falling into the black void abyss.

"Aah!" Alicia woke up from her deep sleep in cold sweat. He looked around and breathed a sigh of relief. He's not dead, he's alive.

Alicia did not immediately wake up, she sat quietly on her bed. He had no idea how he had even gotten to the bed that confused him so much. The last thing he remembered was sitting at a table waiting for Berlin to return. The only thing he might have thought of was that Berlin actually took him to bed. This thought made him flinch. After waking up a little longer, Alicia prepared herself for a long workout. He doesn't know what time it is or how long it will take him to sleep. But he feels very fresh.

He came out of the room to find that Berlin was awake and making breakfast. "You're up, that's good. Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes, let's help set the table."

"Master Berlin thank you for dinner last night! Sorry I must have fallen asleep while waiting for you. I wanted to say thank you last night." Alicia blushed a little. She felt bad because she should have thanked him at the beginning when she received the food.

"It's okay! I know you're grateful. An ungrateful person will not wash the dishes. You are a good girl with a good heart. Come on, let's eat. We have a long day." Berlin said as he started putting food on the stove into some dishes.

"Alicia, I want you to know that the basics of Magic are very important. Imagery is the key when making magic. The stronger the image of what you are trying to do, the stronger your magic will be. In the case of fire magic, it would be like this." Berlin turned his palm and a small flame appeared.

"The fire is small and weak. Like a flame on a candle. That's because I use candles to describe a flame. Now if I do this..." Berlin put out the fire in his hand and suddenly a huge fire ten times his previous size erupted from his hand.

"This fire is much stronger! That's because I used the campfire as my basic image! This also applies to the way things are shaped like this..." Berlin put out the fire in his hand once again and a new one was formed but this time it was in the form of a magma lion.

"After time and you learn to control your magic well, you can make it move as you see fit. It will not have intelligence and you have to concentrate on its movements, so it will not really live. As you progress in magic you will finally be able to do things like summon something to fight by your side. All this depends on your ability to understand the concept of magic and how well you imagine something." Alicia watched in awe as Berlin created many different things with this magic. He hoped that he would do the same soon.

"Master Berlin, you said that parables are the key to cast magic, but what else is needed to cast magic?" Alicia could understand everything except this part. He did not seem to understand how imagining something could create a miracle.

"That's a good question. In the air, there is something we now call Oxygen that allows us to breathe. There are also other substances called magicules. These magicules are what we use to build our magic power. The power of magic should slowly be cultured into our bodies allowing us to use the mana created to create magic. Once you start taking Magicules, you will slowly develop what is called Magi Sack in your lower abdomen. The bigger your Magi sack, the stronger your magic power will be and the more mana you will have. Where is it located inside Magi Sack." Alicia did her best to accept every word of Berlin. He wanted to do everything he said to memory so that he could advance faster.

Alicia did not want to waste all the effort Berlin put into her teachings. He did not want Berlin to look at him with disappointment. He wants to live up to his expectations. So his gaze never left him as he spoke. The words he said reminded him of some of the novels he had read in his previous life. It was similar but different at the same time. The way Berlin explains it is the same as cultivating spiritual qi and keeping it in your dantian. This concept was not new to him but on earth, this was all just a fantasy so he did not know how to do it.
