Phantasia: The Princess Knight
The Last Of The Elves Part One

"So other races besides humans were created by the gods. But you said a new race also appeared?" Alicia was very surprised to hear about the Devils and Gods. He wondered why the Gods disappeared after the Devils disappeared and if they disappeared why their new race had appeared. Did the gods and demons still create these races from their hiding places and release them into this world?

“I don't know. The magic after the Demon War became ten times more since the Gods and Demons disappeared. So I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it or if there's still a god who created a new living being" Loeri replied.

"Well, that doesn't matter. If this was indeed a barrier by the fairies then they might still be alive. But the detected object looked faint so it was probably a dying elf. So we should check on her" Alicia said.

"OK, but we have to be careful because we don't know exactly what's down there." Loeri reminded Alicia.

"I know we're gonna slow down." Alicia pushed the liquid like water and started to pass it when she heard a muffled cry over her head.

"Hey wait? What are you doing!? I can't...! Mph!"

*tuk!*

Alicia felt her head become lighter so she turned to look at Loeri on the ground first. "Loeri, why are you on the ground !?"

"I said wait!" Loeri slowly got up. There was a large brown spot on his face from the muddy floor of the cave.

"Oh! Pardon me! Hehe! Let me clean you up." Alicia passed through the barrier as if it wasn't there. He used a bit of water magic on a bit of cloth and wiped Loeri's face clean. "Hm... So if you can't get past what we did?"

"You can try wrapping your magic power around my body and see if it will allow me to pass. Just don't drop me this time!" Loeri felt a little sad she had just found a comfortable place and she was forced out by that stupid barrier! "Wait why did you get through it!? You also passed mine!"

"I don't know, I just went through it. But let's try what you suggest and see if it lets you through. If not, we will forget. I don't want to go alone if we don't know what's there." Alicia did not want to force her luck. He had almost died a few times now. He decided he should be more careful from now on. He did not want to die a second time. He only lived for more than a year in this world. He wants a full life opportunity. He wants to be old like everyone else. It was the least he could do for his parents in another world. They want him to have a fulfilling life that allows him to follow his dreams.

Alicia covered Loeri with a thin layer of her magic power and hugged her. Taking a deep breath, Alicia said: "OK! Here goes!"

Alicia stepped through the barrier and fortunately the idea worked and Loeri was allowed to pass through. When they got to the other side, what they saw was a long stone staircase leading down. The stairs seemed to have been carved into the rock of the cave. The walls are lined with vines and flowers.

Loeri was the first to discover something strange about all of this. "The berries are a small winged race, why is there such a large staircase?"

"I don't know but at least it's convenient." Alicia said as she continued walking down the stairs step by step.

They are extra careful because things seem strange. They continued walking until they finally arrived at a large door made of vines. Alicia reaches and touches the door only to be shocked when the vines are pulled allowing her to pass through. On the other side was a small room. In the room was a glowing ball. Sitting in front of the ball was a small man with wings on his back. It was an old woman of what they could say because she had wrinkles all over her face. His eyes were glazed white as if he was blind. His white hair fell down deep into his legs.

"You've finally come! I've waited so long. The last of our fairy race will finally be allowed to see the light of day." The voice of the old elf echoed in the small room.

"You knew we were coming?" ask Alicia.

"I'm Pula, I'm a fortune teller. I could see the future for thousands of years. I've been waiting here for years. I can't count how long I've been here. Just keeping this kid behind me alive." Has been letting me live all this time. I've been waiting for this exact day... Cough! Cough!" He struggled as he flew into the air. Here the old wing pulsed very slowly. "I must ask the one who will shine a light on this world to uphold the old creed that your race once promised and help raise this child..."

Alicia was confused, she did not know what the old creed was and did not even know how to raise fairies! "Miss, what do you mean raise? I don't get it. I haven't seen a fairy until now I don't know how to take care of her."

"This "little one only needs protection and a bit of Magic. I beg you to uphold the old creed!" The old elf floated in the air as he knelt down and kowtowed in front of Alicia.

Confused Alicia waved her hand and said: "No! Nah! It's okay I'll do what you ask, so please don't do this. You are my brother. I just don't know how to take care of the little guy. But if you say it's easy then I won't have a problem."
