Phantasia: The Princess Knight
Alicia

The sound of water droplets filled Akari's ears. His throbbing head felt like it had been hit by a rock. He slowly opened his eyes letting the dim light penetrate the darkness. "I could have sworn that I had just died ..."

Akari looked around her with a bit of confusion. He was in a place that looked like a small wooden hut. "Where am I?"

Akari's head killed him. His vision was a bit blurry but the picture of the life of a young girl kept flashing in his head. The girl's name was Alicia. Alicia doesn't know her last name. He was alone for as long as he remembered. While he was in the forest he met some men who wanted the food he gathered. He had worked so hard for the food and refused to give up. He hasn't eaten in days. Those people seemed to be unconcerned and hit Alicia on the head with a stick. He fell to the ground and fainted. When she woke up to the raindrops hitting her head, she found herself lying in a pool of blood. There was no sign of the food he had gathered from the forest. Using the rest of the strength left in him, he walked to his makeshift hut where he fainted.

After those memories finished crossing her mind, Akari realized that she was now a girl named Alicia. The girl died of blood loss after being hit in the head. Akari no, now Alicia shook her head. She felt a bit of sadness for the poor girl who had to take care of herself at such a young age. "I think from today my name is Alicia. I will live for that poor girl who lived such a difficult life. I will also live this new life entirely for myself. But my first assignment..."

Alicia rubbed her stomach. The hunger from his stomach was as painful as his head. Alicia slowly rose from the dusty floor that was now muddled by the rain and blood that pooled in the puddles on the floor. Alicia looked at the pool of blood and frowned. "This is why my head is so light. The poor girl actually died from blood loss. But how can I take over your body?"

Shaking her head and stopping her thoughts, Alicia felt like she would die of thirst before she died of hunger. "First of all, I have to get food and water. The water part should be easy..."

The rain fell well. Alicia saw that there were already several broken pots that held water. He staggered into one of the pots and saw clear water in it. "At least the little girl knows how to wash the pot."

Alicia took the broken pot carefully and took a sip of water. The cold water tasted good as it soaked its dry mouth. Alicia doesn't drink too fast, she doesn't want to make herself sick. He drank slowly until he felt hydrated. He put down the pot and felt much better. “Now after I drink, I need to find food. But from what I know, the little girl only found a few wild vegetables before being picked up by those guys. At least I have a little knowledge of the little girl about what to eat. I can also try to trap some animals..."

Building up her determination, Alicia forced herself to get out of the hut and return to the forest using the little girl's memories. The hut is about a ten-minute walk from the forest. There's no one else around.

In the distance, he could see a small village but he did not see anyone around where he was. Alicia could only assume that the people who robbed her food and killed the little girl were from the village itself. If he had the power and the sword, he would bring vengeance to those people for killing the little girl. At this thought, he was unsure whether he should thank the men or not. They deserved to meet the same end as the little girl. But if they did not kill the little girl, would she have the chance to be reborn in this place? Wherever this place is.

At the moment Alicia had no idea where she was or what time she was. But his current food shortage takes precedence over knowing where he really is. Alicia finally took nearly twenty minutes to get to the forest. A normal ten-minute walk turned into a twenty-minute walk due to his injuries and lack of stamina. Just as he entered he immediately looked for a sharp stone and a rather long stick. He planned to use the stick as a weapon and according to his memory to sweep the forest floor to scare away the snakes.

After a few minutes of searching, Alicia found what she was looking for. He found a sharp stone and a hefty sized stick that could even be swung or thrown by his weak little body. He felt strange being in such a weak little body, compared to his old body which had all the correct muscles of a swordsman.

"I had to train hard to reach my previous condition." Alica muttered to herself as she started cutting the staff in her hand.

After a little work, Alicia looked at her work and smiled. "Not too bad... At least it should be piercing the skin of a small animal. I don't know much about plants but my dad taught me to trap. I could set a trap and then use this sharp stick to kill whatever I caught. A sharp stone would be useful for skinning it. The only problem after that was to start a fire... I guess I'll worry about that after I catch something."

Alicia got up from the ground and started looking for things she could use to set up a simple trap. He had no bait at the moment so he could only hope that there was something curious enough to want to check the trap after it was set up. As long as it wasn't too big, he could even scare whatever was in the trap and kill it. Alicia knew that her current condition would not allow her to chase anything and kill him that way. But this body needs some form of meat to maintain its current state and build its stamina and grow some muscles.
