Alicia looked at the stone-shaped object in her hand that was roughly twice the size of her fist. "What does a magic core do?"
"From what I know humans and demihumans can use it to make weapons and demonic beasts and dragons eat it to increase their power because magic cores are solidified Magicules" Loeri explained.
"Hmmm... So, is this food good?" Alicia used water magic and cleaned her magic core before putting it in her mouth and biting it a little. She thought she wouldn't be able to bite him but it turned out she could. Not only that but when it entered his mouth it completely melted in his mouth releasing all Magic into his body! The high concentration of Magicules that entered his body, rushed towards his Magi Sack. As the Magicules passed through her system, Alicia felt an overwhelming pain almost on par with what she had first used in the Magicules. The number of Maficules from just one small bite of this magic core was ten times what his body could handle!
Loeri saw the scene before her eyes widen. "What are you doing! Are you trying to kill yourself!?"
Alicia could not say a single word the pain she was feeling right now was much worse than it was a year ago. He had difficulty standing as his body swayed back and forth before losing his footing and starting to fall. In a semi-conscious state, she suddenly felt something warm embrace her.
"Allicia! Hang on, try to control the Magicules! Don't let yourself faint!" Berlin's worried voice entered Alicia's ears.
Hearing the uneasiness of her voice and the warmth of her embrace made Alicia slightly relax. It was a feeling that would be obtained from a father or mother. This feeling made Alicia remember her own parents. It made her remember the care and love they gave her as she grew up. In a half-daze, Alicia whispered: "Dad, Mother, Akari apologize. I'm sorry for being dead... Akari will lead a fulfilling life in this new place..."
Berlin, who heard his words, was confused but he had no time to think about such things. "Allicia! Don't faint, you need to stay awake!"
The words of Berlin once again entered his ears. It made her a little bit of a daze. He bit his lips hard, causing blood to flow. He wanted to concentrate some of the pain in his body onto his lips. But the pain only lasted a second before the wound he had just caused healed instantly.
Seeing instant healing gave Loeri an idea! "Old man, I have an idea on how to save him!"
Without waiting for Berlin to retaliate, Loeri goes to work viciously clawing and biting Alicia. Seeing this, Berlin became furious and violently beat Loeri while shouting: "What did you do to my daughter!?"
"My jaw! Why did you start attacking him!?" Berlin shouting.
"No attacking! I saved her! The wound is healing! It used the excess Magic in his body to heal the wounds I made!" Loeri yelled back. He didn't want to die, he was only a few hundred years old! She wanted to grow up with Alicia until she died of old age! Not dying a few days after making a contract with him!
Berlin is only now looking into the injuries caused by Loeri and has just seen that those injuries have been completely gone. Seeing this he now understood. "I'm sorry I just... Do it gently..." He didn't want to see his daughter get hurt. It hurts his heart. For the past year or so, he had been very fond of this little girl. Even though she had no blood relation to him, she felt a deep connection to him. He is bright, honest, and cheerful. He always tried to help her do things around the cottage. He worked hard in his training and never complained no matter how hard it was. He felt more fatherly love towards this child than his son or daughter in the castle.
Loeri continued to make more wounds on Alicia's body. He knew the man holding Alicia as if she was a rare gem would never be able to do what she was doing now. Loeri also did not want to hurt Alicia, but right now their lives were both at stake. Loeri bit and clawed leaving a deep wound on Alicia's arm. Every time she did, Loeri felt pain in her heart from having to do such a thing.
Slowly the mass of Magicules on Alicia's body began to decrease rapidly. The process took nearly twenty minutes before Alicia's furrowed brows slowly subsided. His breathing became stable as if he was sleeping soundly. Only then did Loeri stop her actions and let out a sigh of relief.
Berlin looked at Alicia who was sleeping soundly and gently brushed her hair back. He waved his hand and all the blood and dirt present on his body disappeared instantly. He did the same for Loeri as well.
"Loeri, I'm sorry for my previous actions. I also hope that you can keep my true identity from Alicia for now. I don't plan to tell him until his maturity ceremony when he's fifteen. It's not. I don't want him to know but it's for his own safety. He had to be strong enough to protect himself at that moment." Berlin explained.
"You obey my words. You have to leave before he wakes up." replied Loeri. He knew that this man was only thinking about Alicia's best interests.
Giving Alicia a glance once more, Berlin laid her gently on the ground before her body flashed and she disappeared from sight.
