Three months later..
That morning, Ardian went to his parents' house first. There's something she should discuss with her Papi. Because he had contacted Papinya before leaving earlier, he was immediately welcome to enter Mr. Sucipto's work room as soon as he reached home.
"What do you want to see Papi." Mr. Sucipto immediately asked the question as soon as he saw the door open.
"Assalamualaikum, Pi.." Ardian walked over and greeted his Papi politely. Sitting on the sofa in front of his papi, his eyes scanned every corner of Mr. Sucipto's repainted workspace. "Can I drink this drink?" Ardian even held a cup of tea that still reflected smoke on the table. Not paying attention to Mr. Sucipto's question.
Mr. Sucipto was silent for a while as he looked at his son. "Didn't you listen to Papi's question?" said later.
Ardian breathed a rough breath while staring at his Papi. "The guest should be welcome to sit first and be asked a question."
"But never thought of you as a guest, son."
"But I feel like a guest. I'm not a resident of this house anymore. So, I'm a guest at the moment."
Mr. Sucipto grunted. "As far as you are then. Now tell me what's the point of you coming here."
Ardian looked at his Papi for a moment. "I want to take the rest of the salary I'm supposed to receive."
"What do you mean?"
"Ardian knows that Papi's been manipulating my pay. I know Papi's set everything up."
"Papi's entitled to the money, Ardian. You got this position can not be separated from Papi's interference. Don't you think anyone can be a GM with less than three years of work experience."
"I've predicted all that, Pi. I also did not expect to be in this position before. I just want to work and get a wage according to the results of my work. And these three months, I've been showing good performance for the company. I've worked so well that the company's profits are doubled."
"That's why.. Papi is happy to hear your achievements hit the target. But, Papi will still take your salary."
"I wouldn't mind if Papi took a quarter or even a third of that salary. But, Papi took half of it. I'm not a reckoning or anything like an old man. But, I also have a family now, Pi. I have to support my wife's child."
"Ayra has never demanded as much as you. What Papi doesn't know about Papi's son-in-law. She is a girl who loves simple life. Although the property of Grandpa and his parents will not run out until seven derivatives. According to Papi, he won't need any monthly money from you." Mr. Sucipto shrugged his shoulders while smiling cunningly at his son.
"But still I'm obligated to provide for her, Pi, she's my wife. Grandfather has also targeted the money I am obliged to give to my wife every month."
"Heh, at most Mr. Akmal is just bluffing you. Mr. Akmal is a very good person that you should know. Although his words are sometimes very piercing, but he's not going to have the heart."
Ardian gulped his saliva staring at his Papi sharply. "I'm entitled to that salary, because I work. Is Papi now short of money so Papi's own child's salary is taken without asking for approval?"
"You're accusing Papi of burping, son?" Mr. Sucipto stood up in annoyance.
"Not a thief, but a job equal to a thief."
"Perse our mouth, Ardian. Papi didn't expect you'd say that to your own parents."
"I don't want to say it. But, it was Papi who made me have to say this." Ardian shifted his gaze. Recalling the words of his wife who strongly disagreed with his decision to meet his parents this morning.
Ardian was trying to be patient. But, the more here the salary he received was getting reduced. Even in this third month, the salary his Papi took was up to sixty percent. This morning he lied to his wife that he was going straight to the office. True Ardian went straight to the Office, but only up to the gate. As soon as he reached the gate he immediately turned around and left for his parents' house.
Flashback...
That night after returning from the Office, Ardian took the time to see a notification message from the bank. He frowned when he saw the amount of money coming into his account. "What the fuck?!" Say it while putting the phone down roughly. He just took a deep breath. One month ago he got rid of Anita, now new problems even come from his own parents.
"What's up, Mom?" Chayra approached her husband and rubbed his shoulders.
Ardian raised his face while breathing out violently. "The salary I received, Chay. Why are you getting here less and less trying? I put all my energy and mind into working my best. But, why is Papi acting all the more like this."
"Udah, Mas, don't think too much. Maybe Papi needs that money. It's okay, the important thing to shop for necessities every day is enough."
"I'll see him in the morning." Ardian got up to grab a drinking glass that his wife offered.
"Don't, Mas. Not good, angry with parents."
"I'll ask you nicely, honey. I know Papi did this on purpose. If it continues to be left alone, it could be the salary I receive is only ten percent."
"But I still disagree, Mom. I'm sure that Papi must be in need of that money so he took half your salary. After all, in your money there is also a living that you have to give to your parents."
"But this is not the way, dear. I had even intended to give it to them which one should be their part. It's called theft, Chay."
"Astagfirullah, Ma. What the hell are you talking about?"
Ardian took a deep breath while preaching. If this problem persists, he is afraid that his Papi will become more and more so. I don't know what her Papa wanted so she got this long.
Pov Chayra...
I was shocked to hear Mas Ardian say. O Allah. what was my husband thinking so he said. He was rarely angry all this time. But, once angry all who are buried in the heart will come out immediately. Like tonight, she came home with a cheerful face no matter how sweet she was. Never did she show a haggard face when I greeted her back at work. But, his looks instantly changed when he saw his phone. Oh, it turns out he's on payday. I just heard him mumble indistinctly. Just the phrase 'I was appointed GM, but my salary is nothing more than an ordinary employee.'
I tried to advise him with what I could. May my husband realize his mistake. I said hamdalah when I heard her reciting istighfar.
I walked over to him, rubbing his shoulders affectionately. "Why, Mas?" He lifted his face while looking at me. His eyes look very sad.
I sat back on the sofa after hearing her complaints. His attention had to be diverted so that he would not constantly pick on the matter.
The next morning, Mas Ardian looks fresh, probably because it was served last night. Hm. I have to remind her again. Don't let her say that last night, if she's going to Papi's house. I have to say it my way so that he will obey.
"Bag.."
"Mmmm..." He smiled as he buttoned his shirt. I immediately held his hand.
"What's up, honey?" He looked at me while holding my hand that was stuck to his chest.
"Night's problems don't lengthen, Mom.." Mas Ardian let out a heavy sigh. "No way, honey. I need to talk to Papi so this doesn't happen again."
"But I don't like you like this, Mas. I'd rather you were calm yesterday. If you insist on prolonging this matter, I'll go to Mom's house and stay there. I don't want to see you until you stop." Ardian looked at me. Looks like my threat is. Mas Ardian sighed heavily then nodded his head. "Alright, but I'm doing this because of you. Not because I forgive Papi."
I snarled at hearing his answer. "If that's what the difference is, Mas.."
"Hmm. yes. yes, I will do it with sincerity."
I patted her on the cheek and then on my tiptoes and gave her one kiss on her lips. It certainly makes Mas Ardian smile tingling. Wkwkwk....
