Chayra reached into her phone from inside her backpack. Immediately touch the fingerprint on the back of the phone.
Die up!
His phone did not give any response. That of course made Chayra link her eyebrows in wonder. Was the phone turned off by Mr. Ismail he thought. Switch to press the power button on the side. Pressing him long and..
"Alhamdulillah, it can be." Slowly flowed. He silently stared at the flat object in his hand. Why did Ismail turn off his phone? Are his friends calling too often or his chat group too noisy? Questions flashed through his head.
Bu Ainun's call from the front of her room made Chayra get up and open the door of her room.
"That's why you want to talk to you for a second, son. Someone forgot to tell me." Said Ms. Ainun as Chayra put her head on the door of her room.
"Yes, Ummi."
"You're waiting for Abah in his study."
"But, what's the problem, Ummi. Why did Abah wait for Ayra in the Workspace?"
"Ummi doesn't know, either, son. You can ask later. Ummi was just told to call you."
Chayra opened the door to her room wider. Get out and follow Bu Ainun's steps to Mr. Ismail's Workspace.
Chayra gulped her saliva when she saw Mr. Ismail's sharp gaze when she arrived in the room.
"There's something important that Abah forgot to say to you."
Chayra was sitting on the sofa, her eyes looking at the contents of the room that was very neatly arranged. Turning to look at Mr. Ismail who was watching him. "What's important, Abah?"
Mrs Ainun sat down next to Chayra.
Mr. Ismail furrowed his brows seeing that his wife was not out of the room. "Why is Ummi sitting down? Abah wants to talk to Ayra with four eyes. It's about his personal business. So, Ummi did not have to sit down and want to know what Abah will be to Ayra. Please cooperate, Ummi."
Ms. Ainun snorted annoyedly at her husband's words. "This Ummi is no one else, Abah. So Ummi did not want to leave even though Abah expelled Ummi. Ummi also deserves to know all about Ayra."
Ishmael exhaled violently at his wife's reply. "Just talk to Ummi."
Ms. Ainun just shrugged her shoulders while smiling triumphantly. His hands were busy stroking Chayra's head.
Chayra smiled at the behavior of Umminya. "It's okay, Abah. Ayra also doesn't mind if Ummi is here."
Ms. Ainun smiled triumphantly.
Mr. Ismail tapped on the table in front of him with his index finger. It had been about five minutes Chayra and Bu Ainun waited. But not a word came out of his mouth.
"Why is it still quiet? Poor Ayra from earlier wait." Ms. Ainun spoke up because she was confused by her husband's attitude, who had not yet begun important talks.
"I'm still confused where to start, Ummi. Because what Abah is going to say is not a pleasant thing."
Chayra was surprised. His eyes focused on Mr. Ismail. But, the middle-aged man was still silent. He was just still faithfully knocking on the table in front of him.
Mr. Ismail fixed his sitting position. "Look, Son. About a week ago, there was an incident that Abah didn't tell you." Mr. Ismail looked at the confused looking Chayra.
The impatient Ms. Ainun waiting for the continuation of her husband's sentence finally interjected. "What was that, Abah? Why doesn't Ummi know?"
"Ck, Ummi listen up! Abah ain't done talking."
Mrs Ainun clucked. "Tell him a long time. Ummi was tired of being curious from earlier."
"Prophe, Ummi." Chayra tried to calm Ms. Ainun down.
Mr. Ismail did not mind his wife's complaint. "Moor.."
Chayra turned her eyes back to Mr. Ismail. "Yes, Abah?"
"Do you know a man named Ardian Baskara?"
Chayra was surprised to hear Mr. Akmal's question. "Why did Abah ask the man?"
"So I'll just ask, son. Is she your lover?"
Chayra immediately shook her head. "No, Abah. But, she is Ayra's best friend's lover."
"Do you have a problem with that guy?"
Chayra silence. He seems to think. Could it be that Ardian was having a problem with his arrival that day. The day she found the man and Amira were doing it."
Ms. Ainun patted Chayra's shoulder gently. "Ayra, answer Abah's question, son.
"A..Ayras.. Ayra also doesn't know, Ummi."
"Looks like he's got a grudge against you, son. It sounds very rude."
Deg !
Mr. Ismail's words made Chayra gasp in shock. "Why did Abah say that?" He asked in an almost inaudible voice.
Mr. Ismail got up, walked a few steps. He stood behind Chayra and his wife. "This is a serious matter that Abah wants to discuss with you. For the day, he calls your phone. Abah ignored his call. But, the more Abah ignored, the more he called. So right on her fifteenth call, Abah swiped the green mark on your phone screen." Mr. Ismail breathed a moment. "Do you want to know what he's saying?" Mr. Ismail turned to look at his wife and nephew.
Mr. Ismail is back on the couch. He took out a flash from his pants pocket. Plugged it into the laptop that was on in front of him.
After waiting for a while...
"Sat! Where have you been, huh?! Did you accidentally disappear after successfully affecting Amira? Wait retaliation. You will know the consequences for daring to interfere in my personal affairs. You should know, if it's not that easy dealing with an Ardian Baskara."
"Assalamualaikum, sorry, who is this?" I heard Ismail's voice in the voice recording.
Ardian was silent. Maybe he's thinking who's answering his phone.
"Are you the father of the girl who had this phone ?" Ardian's voice asked Mr. Ismail.
"Yes, do you have a problem with my daughter Ayra?"
"Curtain! Don't say his name. I'm disgusted to hear it."
"Astagfirullahal'adzim, why did you say that? My son is wrong with you?"
"Ask the holy-spirited girl. Tell him too, if his business with me isn't done."
Tut's.. Tut's.. Tut's..
Call disconnected.
"Astagfirullahal'adzim," simultaneously Bu Ainun and Chayra read Istighfar.
"He didn't even answer Abah's greetings." Said Mrs Ainun then.
"That's not the point. Such men do not seem to be used to say or return greetings. All Abah needs now is your honesty, Ayra. Because we don't know what that guy's gonna do in the future."
Chayra lowered her head. His eyes were warming up, starting to sound a faintly held sobbing cry.
Ms. Ainun wiped Chayra's tears with her thumb. "What don't we know about you, son?"
"It's not Ayra's personal matter, Ummi."
"Tell us everything, son. We don't want any trouble ahead." Timpal Mr. Ismail.
"Since the first time I met Ayra, the man was already upset with Ayra."
"Why?" Sela Bu Ainun's.
"Ayra did not want to shake her hand when Amira took her to get acquainted with us."
"That is our duty as Muslims." Mrs Ainun again interrupted Chayra's story.
"Ummi don't interrupt. Ayra's story when it's finished if Ummi keeps on interrupting." Reproof Mr Ismail.
Bu Ainun frowned. However, his mouth was instantly silent.
"Not only that, Abah, Ummi. Two days before Ayra left here. Ayra and two other friends of Ayra intend to play to Amira's house. But..." Chayra paused her speech. Staring at Mr. Ismail and Mr. Ainun in turn. "We caught him that way." Chayra lowered her head. "And worse, Ayra who opened the door to Amira's room at that time. Maybe that's what makes him hate Ayra, Abah."
The impatient Ms. Ainun wanted to ask again, instantly blasting her voice as Chayra paused her story.
"You mean, you see it being hmm..hmm..hmm?" Bu Ainun hinted at his intention by putting his hands together.
Chayra nodded slowly.
Ms. Ainun covered her mouth with her palm. Shaking his head in disbelief. His nephew whom he knew so innocently had seen a scene he had not yet seen.
Mr. Ismail is stunned. He was actually still doubtful. But, because telling the true events is a very believable source. He finally tried to be calm. They only repeatedly recited Istigfhar in shock at the true events.
Chayra is still sobbing. "I'm sorry Ayra, Abah, Ummi."
"You're not wrong, son. No, don't think about it anymore. This is past." Mrs Ainun tried to strengthen Chayra by gently rubbing her nephew's back.
Ishmael got up from his seat again. Walk slowly, standing by the window of his study. He looked out of the room. "That's the problem now, that guy's threatening you, son." Mr. Ismail glanced at the collapsed Chayra in Bu Ainun's arms. "That's afraid that he's really hurting you."
Chayra and Ms. Ainun just silently listened to whatever sentence came out of Mr. Ismail's mouth.
"Abah and Ummimu had planned to find you a more advanced University. Because seeing your educational background is different from santri here. But, if this is the story, we can't take action."
Chayra took off her embrace from Bu Ainun, turning to look at Ismail, who was still staring out the window. "Ayra is okay, Abah, if you have to go to college here. Kan, Abah himself said yesterday with Ayra, if Abah has entered the name Ayra at the University of Pesantren."
"Yes, Son. But that's not a problem. The problem now is the men's threat. We don't want to risk your safety."
Ms. Ainun nodded in agreement to her husband's words. Chayra also nodded.
"Now Abah is asking you for help, son. Find out what happened to your friends. Especially that boy's girlfriend."
Chayra nodded in agreement to Ismail's words. He asked Mr. Ismail and Mr. Ainun for permission to return to his room.
