Levin's Porsche Taycan was moving slowly away from Mangan Gelato's courtyard. Khalisa was actually able to walk from Mangan Gelato but Levin insisted on dropping him off because he did not want Khalisa to be embarrassed to walk with a robe and wet headscarf. Khalisa will not be ashamed just because of the clothes.
The view of the billboards began to fill the streets. Not only is it at the top of the road, a billboard featuring a photo of the tenth Indonesian presidential candidate was also installed on a headland tree along the Kaliurang road.
"Kok you leave your sketchbook to Mas-Mas anyway?" Huma whispered.
Khalisa turned to listen to Huma's words, "why indeed?" Face plain.
"We just met him today and you believe that's what the book is about, if not behind what? or missing?" Huma was in a hurry because Khalisa believed too much in people he had only met for a while. They did not know whether the Mangan Gelato employees were truly trustworthy or not. Moreover, the book was Khalisa's most valuable item.
"I think he's good anyway, he's not going anywhere." Khalisa chose the safest way to protect his book, fearing it would rip if he brought it wet.
Not until 5 minutes they arrived in front of a 30-story luxury apartment, Casey Avenue written on the front of the top floor that shines when exposed to the reflection of sunlight.
"Thank you Koko is antherin." Khalisa got off Levin's car followed by Huma because the boarding place was behind Casey Avenue's apartment so he needed to walk for a while to get there.
"Together." Levin rolled down the window to see Khalisa standing next to his car.
"The hell I brought it first."
"Don't forget to wash it." Tukas Levin jokingly, although only one month knew he was very familiar with Khalisa. The friendly carrying of Khalisa makes Levin feel at home for a long time.
"Beres boss, I'll give you one bottle of fragrance." Khalisa gave his thumbs up to Levin.
Levin laughed, he knew this apartment had a laundry service so Khalisa did not need to wash his own clothes.
"I'm back, assalamualaikum." Levin waved his hand, he closed the car window after hearing Khalisa reply to his greetings to gas leave the Casey Avenue area.
Because Khalisa was the first child in his family, getting to know Levin made him feel like he had an older brother that he had never felt before.
Born as the first child and grandchild in the Alindra family, Khalisa bore quite a heavy burden on his shoulders. Especially since childhood Khalisa has been given a hospital gift by his Akong, Jaya Alindra so inevitably he must also be responsible for the hospital. Actually the hospital not only belongs to Khalisa but also belongs to his cousin, Kafa. Khalisa felt a little relieved because Kafa was willing to go to medical school after graduation so he did not have to study in that department. But even though from a small Khalisa happy to draw, he had to choose a pharmaceutical department that is still related to the medical world.
"Where the hell was your meeting with Ko Levin?" Huma wondered how Khalisa and Levin could be as familiar as they are now. Although Huma knew Khalisa was easy to talk to but not many guys could get along with him. Of course as a woman Khalisa limit his association with the opposite sex.
"And I told you, we met at the hospital's annual charity event."
"I mean, the detail story." Huma continued to follow Khalisa to the apartment yard.
"You want to hear the story?" Khalisa stopped his steps so Huma hit his back.
"Yes." Yeah." Huma rubbed his forehead against Khalisa's back.
"Let's go to my apartment."
"Really?" Huma sparkled because Khalisa was willing to tell about his meeting with Levin.
"Yes." Yeah." Khalisa hastened the pace because he could not bear to immediately change his clothes that were wet and felt sticky.
*******
The Kafasa hospital hall is full of donors who participate in a routine annual charity event held by Alindra Grub as well as commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the hospital. The donors who come from various circles, office employees, MSME owners to Mitra Nusantara which is a company in the retail sector.
A cake shaped like a hospital building was in front of the audience in the center of attention. The presence of two people who were the reason for the establishment of the Kafasa hospital was preparing to cut the cake made everyone present unable to take their eyes off them.
Jaya Alindra's nuclear family is compactly dressed in red. They stood behind a cake bearing the number 20 on the top. Starting from Umar who stood at the very end, beside him was the wife of Aisha and the twins Fatah and Fatimah. Jaya Alindra and Renata are in the middle of Zunaira, Azmal, Ica and Daniel.
Khalisa and Kafa held their cake knives each preparing to cut the cake in the count of three. Flashes of blitz incessantly hit the figure of the two teenagers, the journalists are competing to get as many pictures of Khalisa and Kafa as possible.
"One—" Khalisa counts first.
"Two—" Connect Kafa.
"Three!" They called out at the same time followed by boisterous applause by the audience and families who also enlivened the event.
"First cut for Ama dong." Khalisa gave the first piece of cake to Renata.
"This is for Akong." Kafa gives the cake in his hand to Jaya who is sitting on a wheelchair. Although he has reached the age of 80 years Jaya still looks fit only he can not stand too long.
"Thank you dear." Renata kissed Khalisa's cheeks, inhaling in the scent of his granddaughter's cheeks that were more palatable than any scent in the world.
Khalisa gave a second cut to papa and his mother. Khalisa thanked them for guiding him to the present.
Ica embraced Khalisa for a very long time because for half a year the eldest son was very far from him to study. Soon Khalisa returned to Yogyakarta to start a new semester and will be preoccupied with college activities. Although he often communicates through video calls but still hugging and grasping hands like this he will not always be able to do.
"Pa, thank you." Khalisa hugged Daniel who had become the man he respected the most besides Jaya. Khalisa was inspired by the grief of Daniel as a young man and his struggle to embrace Islam.
"Here let Papa bribe Mama." Daniel takes over the plate in Khalisa's hand, he feeds a small piece of the vanilla-flavored cake to Ica.
"Papa is the sweetest man in the world." Khalisa holds his cheek that heats up even though he is used to seeing the affection of papa and his mama. They often show affection in front of their children.
"Let's say yes." Khalisa also gave a hug to Aisyah.
"Ai's niece is getting prettier now." Aisyah kissed Khalisa cheek right and left, she used to always bring Khalisa to her house when she was a baby, suddenly now the girl has grown up and studied.
"Cece, don't go back to Jogja." Zunaira—the youngest son Ica and Daniel ran to embrace Khalisa, long before Khalisa attended college in Yogyakarta, Zunaira was the most clingy with him.
"Cece has to go to college, baby." Ica rubbed Zunaira's straight hair unlike Khalisa's wavy ones.
"Yes, Zunai has a lot of friends here." Khalisa lifted the body of the 5-year-old girl and carried her. "It's so hard for Cece's sister right now." Khalisa said with a stifled voice. Although it looks thin, of course, Zunaira has started to weigh more than when she was a baby.
"Cece want this?" Azmal did not want to lose their attention to Cece, he offered the cherry sweets to Khalisa.
Without answering Khalisa opened his mouth to welcome the fruit sweets in Azmal's hands. It does not feel that Azmal who used to still learn to walk is now as high as Khalisa.
"That's great." Khalisa's voice is not very clear because his mouth is full of sweets. "You again dong."
Azmal immediately went to pick up another fruit candy for Khalisa. He knows most of his favorite Cece is any food made from fruits.
"Cece" called Daniel to Khalisa, and he taught Azmal and Zunaira to call Khalisa Cece. "Known, it's Papa from Jogja."
Khalisa had trouble seeing a man who came with his father because of Zunaira's obstruction.
"Zunai let's go down first, same Mama yuk." Ica took down Zunaira from Khalisa's arms so they could talk more freely.
Ica brings Zunaira to join Kafa and the Fatah and Fatimah twins who just entered Primary School this year.
"Ce, this is Levin the chairman of the Mualaf Community in Jogja." Daniel introduces a man with an oriental face as tall as he is to Khalisa. "He went to UII too."
"Greetings Ko, I'm Khalisa." Khalisa nodded his head greeting Levin whom he guessed was older than him. "So Koko went to college at UII, how come I've never seen her?"
"The UII campus is Ce." Daniel's Law. "If you're not in the wrong medical school?"
"Yes, Mr. Daniel." Levin smiled nodding.
"He also donated a high amount to our hospital."
"God willing, thank you Ko may be useful and bring blessings for all of us, Allah will surely replace it with more sustenance."
"Aamiin, because no one is necessarily poor because of alms." Added Levin.
"Papa Samperin Mama first yes, Vin I live first, you guys just talk." Daniel touches Levin's arm before leaving. Daniel knew Khalisa would be easy to get along with Levin even if they had only met for the first time.
"Papa can't be far from Mama." Khalisa muttered as he stepped in to find an empty chair to make it more comfortable to chat with Levin. "So Ko Levin since when did you convert?" He had wanted to ask since then, if Levin became the chairman of the community of converts in Yogyakarta means he has long embraced Islam.
The convert community founded by Daniel now has hundreds of thousands of members spread in about 50 cities throughout Indonesia. Each city has one chairman who is responsible for activities in the community such as learning prayer, teaching, recitation of the Qur'an and various social service activities.
"I've been a convert since I was ten." Levin answered with pleasure.
"It turns out that it has been a long time, hopefully Koko can continue Istiqomah in the way of Allah."
Levin nodded, "because of the many converts in the community I became more and more in love with Islam and grateful that God gave me that guidance, I always pray that my Mom and Dad can get that guidance, too."
Khalisa smiled shadyly, he understood Levin's feelings, it was the same as when he hoped Jaya and Renata embraced Islam like his two children Aisyah and Daniel.
"Cece, this is the sweetness." Azmal came with two pricks of cherry candies, "one for Koko." He gave two sticks of sweets to Khalisa and Levin.
"Well, Koko can too, kamsia ya." Levin smiled sweetly at Azmal and slightly ruffled her hair.
"Thank you handsome." Khalisa also thanked Azmal who had been kind enough to give him fruit sweets.
"By the way you went to pharmacy?" Now it was Levin's turn to ask, he bit the caramel-coated fruit until it made a loud enough sound.
"Yes, it's second semester." Khalisa ate one cherry at a time.
"This is tanghulu made Mama." Mama Khalisa can not be said to be proficient in cooking but her artificial tanghulu always makes Khalisa homesick.
"Because we already know each other and one campus, we should have met after this often."
"God's Inshaa." Khalisa.
