One week later...
"Grandma, I'm going on a picnic out with Machio!"
Leviala saw her granddaughter running from the room and greeted her at a glance just to say goodbye and disappear behind the door. There are their pets following him. The girl ran down the circular staircase in her tree house, and ran through the village streets where all the buildings were built under a large tree. Residential houses were also built on the trees, for shelter and also important places.
"Theor must have waited a long time!" Mumbled.
He looked over and saw his pet running after him. It was a Kica, an animal similar to a squirrel, yet it had a body as big as a rabbit and had a cat-like voice with a long dangling cat tail.
"Come, Cama!"
They have been playing together for a week. Theor tells Samantha that her family was on their way to another city when they were attacked by a group of black-robed people. His parents were killed, while he and his older brother were told to flee by their separated parents. He did not even know where his brother was, but he was sure that his brother was still alive somewhere because his fellow werewolves were able to feel the lives of their fellows especially those tied to the knot of blood.
His brother was a crown prince, while he was a prince. Perhaps those robed people were those sent by the enemy to get rid of his family.
Theor felt confident that his brother would definitely find him, and hiding in the Elven City was the best option he had right now when he was targeted out there to be finished off. But even so, actually living there is no safer than outside. Due to the events that had happened hundreds of years ago, the elves held a grudge against the werewolves. And with the prohibition that werewolves should not enter the elves' territory, it was announced that anyone who violated would receive a severe punishment of death.
Samantha understood and understood that she would get into trouble from this, but she could not do much because she knew that Theor was not someone as evil as her grandmother and others had told her.
Theor is a sweet kid, seeing how they interact during this one week.
"Theor!" He stopped in front of a small cave in the middle of the forest and called out the boy's name. From behind the shadow of the cave, someone slowly appeared. The boy lightly stepped out, smiled widely and greeted Samantha cheerfully. "Samantha! You came early?!"
Samantha nodded her head, placed the basket in Theor's hand and took a cloth which she then stretched out over the dry grass, to make a place for them to sit. He pulled Theor to sit down and began to unpack the contents of the small basket he had brought deliberately for Theor. "I brought sandwiches and milk today."
"The milk I mixed with the strobery fruit, so it was sweet, sour and very fresh! You have to try it!"
Theor received what Samantha gave cheerfully and began to bite the sandwich with a normal bite. Her canine teeth were visible when she opened her mouth to bite and her ears stood up when she was surprised by the taste of the bread in her hand. His black tail swayed so quickly that it made a flutter, indicating he liked what he was eating.
In fact, werewolf tails and ears are what make them the most honest race in the world even though they are very double-faced aka tsundere. They can say they don't want to or don't like it, but their tails and ears can't lie when they're not like, afraid or fond of something.
"I filled it with grilled meat. I roasted it myself, do you like it?"
"Then I'll bring it for you tomorrow!" Samantha's words made Theor slightly stop the chewing.
"Samantha, I have something to tell you."
The mood suddenly became serious. "I can feel my brother is near. He must have sensed my existence and was looking for me. If my estimation is correct, my brother should be until tomorrow, and I might not be able to see you again."
"We both know about the rules made by the higher-ups that our nation must not be close to your people, nor even enter or approach its territory. I don't want you to get in trouble like I did until I stay here or come back here." Theor.
Samantha looked at him without interrupting though. The manic is slightly dilated and slightly teary.
"So, this might be our last picnic." Theor.
Samantha lowered her head for a few seconds before looking up and nodding her head calmly. "Well, I get it. It's just, it feels hard to let you go without coming back. I'm gonna miss you so much, Thoer!"
Theor nodded. "I'm the same as you. But I have to do it, for my own life, and for yours."
Samantha calmed her sad emotions and nodded her head. If it's true that Theor's brother is going to pick Theor up, then Theor can go home. Theor's safety here is also threatened, so Samantha must not be selfish by not allowing Theor to leave, crying her out. Samantha can't do it because Theor also has a life of his own while Samantha's existence in Theor's life is only a past one.
"Eat it you have to finish the sandwich and the strawberry milk! This is the last meal I've made for you." Samantha's words made Theor smile and calmly continued to eat before the two played together until late afternoon.
"It's late in the afternoon, grandma will definitely punish me if I come home late."
Patting the back of her skirt, Samantha smiled at Theor. "Tomorrow morning I'll bring you breakfast and help you out of this forest. Outside the border, you can meet your brother more easily there."
Hearing Samantha's suggestion, Theor nodded his head. "Yes! I'm looking forward to your delicious food again, Samantha! Thanks very much!"
Samantha smiled, ran and waved her hand.
Looking at Samantha's distant back, Theor looked at her for some time before Samantha's shadow disappeared behind the lush trees. He looked up, looked at the cold and soft blue-white sky before lightly muttering, "May brother find me soon. I miss him so much."
