"But I really don't expect anything in return." Lamona.
Lamona's serious. He was a good person, and he never expected anything in return in his life. Lamona never felt that helping that person should get a reply. Lamona's mothers always told him that if he did good, the god would redeem that good in the afterlife. And that remained his principle throughout his life.
Seeing the human in front of him not wanting to cooperate, Asyra looked at him and pulled out a row of sharp teeth, threatening. "Just say it or I'll bite your arm to shreds!"
Looking at the small teeth in front of her that jagged and looked like fish teeth made Lamona closer because of her curiosity. His manic stared fixedly at the row of teeth and could not help the admiration he had. "Can your teeth really rip out meat?"
"You want me to rip your meat off?" asyra asked with half a raised eyebrow.
"No, I mean, can your teeth rip through the coral?" lamona asked making Asyra snort. "Of course you can! Even if you tell me to fight sharks, I can. But ... But wait until my wound heals for it!"
Lamona nodded quickly. "No! I didn't tell you to fight with sharks. I mean, it's amazing when you can smash something that hard with just your teeth. That means you're very strong."
Hearing such praise made Asyra calmly lift the corner of her lips proudly. He puffed out his chest and arrogantly nodded. "Of course I'm great. I can stop a storm and the sweep of my tail can create waves."
"Oh, then how did you get here? We never usually meet people like you." Lamona asked.
"Just ... swim a little farther than usual."
Asyra was a little silent and pondered. Actually, he doesn't live here. The dwelling place of the mermaids is in the deep sea along with giant fish and in depths that can even hide color. Depths not exposed to sunlight. But today, she was having a fight with her brother and accidentally swam too close to the surface, until when she realized it, she was trapped in a huge net, and end up hurt and indebted by humans as well.
His sister always warned him not to swim to the surface so as not to meet with humans. Not only his brother, all elders in the village always gave the understanding that humans are cruel and that is the reason the mermaids must hide in the depths so as not to be hunted. Although mermaids are stronger, the number of mermaids is not comparable to the human race. The entire human population is thousands of times the number of mermaids in the ocean.
His brother also always reminded him that it was because of man that their parents were killed.
"Do you still feel pain?"
However, the man in front of him was a little different from the picture that the older brother had said. The man who stabbed him might indeed be evil, but the one in front of him helped him break away from the net, helping him to pull out the spear in his tail and even gently apply the herbal medicine to his injured tail.
Is the man in front of him different or is he just pretending? Man is cunning, and Ashra always thinks that it is true.
Asyra shook her head. "It's just a little, but it doesn't matter. I have a quick cure, so in a day the wound will be healed soon."
Lamona checked the answer, and found that there were no lies in it. So Lamona relievedly nodded her head. "Thank God then."
There was silence for some time. Arsyra widened her eyes as she looked towards the water. He heard his brother's call.
"I'll be back here tomorrow night to hear your request. So, come!"
Afterwards, Asyra crawled into the water and darted off swimming quickly to disappear under Lamona's gaze. "Request?"
"Lame!"
That loud voice made Lamona raise her face. The ship that was boarded by two of his comrades approached towards him. Lamona found.
...***...
Two weeks later.
"You still haven't decided on your request? It's been two weeks!" Say Asyra while scratching the sand with her charming tail. Under the dim moonlight, Lamona could find her shimmering scales, seemingly reflecting light from her blue scales.
Lamona did not answer Asyra's words and calmly extended her hand, giving the girl a roll of rice balls filled with seaweed which had indeed become mermaid food. The mermaid girl cheerfully accepted it and bit her with a big bite, ignoring the rice left on her lips and even moving until her cheeks were bulging. Lamona looked at her with a smile, not intending to say anything and just calmly took her own rice and ate it in silence.
"How's your life down there?" Lamona's question made Asyra pause for a moment before replying with full cheeks.
"That's amazing!" Answer Asyra.
"There are many jewels under the sea. Since the gem was shining, we used it as a lamp and it adorned the entire place. The building is made of coral and sand. We have seaweed fields as our food source, have turtles as our mounts. We make use of jellyfish to be our protectors, because some sea creatures don't dare with jellyfish stings."
Ashra told me very excitedly. "The most fun was when we could see the mermaid eggs hatch!"
"If you can see it, it's really quite incredible!"
Asyra made a movement with her hands. "A "round pearl-like egg the size of a head will glow when it is born. The shell will break slowly and a small mermaid baby will appear. You know what's best?"
Lamona shook her head, of course she did not know and Asyra did not expect the answer as she immediately answered her own question. "The best thing is the scent of happiness from every mermaid present."
"Two more days my niece will be born, and I've felt her happiness even from now on!" Asyra revealed, Lamona nodded and smiled.
"I also have a nephew. When she was born, she was only as big as my palm, and she was very small among the other babies. The village doctor said that he might only live for a few months. But because of my sister's trust and determination, my nephew can be big and live up to now with a healthy body. She grew up to be a sweet and adorable girl."
Lamona looked at Ashra and said, "So we both have nephews."
Looking at the young man's smile in front of her, Asyra pursed her lips, threw away her face and muttered strangely, "What if you both have a niece?"
"You're so weird."
