Dewi Mayasari is a student of Jaka Umbara, as well as the daughter of Raden Surya Wisesa or known as Mpu Anggar Maya.
He met Jaka Umbara for the first time after being introduced by his father and experienced a humiliating incident that ended with the punishment of searching for medicinal plants with Jaka Umbara on the hill behind the padepokan.
Since then Jaka began to train with Dewi Mayasari under the guidance of Mpu Anggar Maya and lived in the village on the hill Darmalaya.
After the death of her father, Dewi Mayasari decided to go wandering and leave the village, in the period of his wandering he met Ki Pucung and Nyi Pucung who were students of one college with his father. Both also helped Goddess Mayasari to practice.

His Majesty died of illness after a rebellion movement by his nephew, cousin of Jaka Umbara's mother, who succeeded His Majesty King Baskara Nara Diningrat, titled Prabu Panembahan Raden Galuh Banaspati.

Laras (Dinda Kirana Larasati) is the daughter of a middle-aged man whom Jaka once helped after returning from the royal palace of Suryalaya.
The middle-aged man entrusted Laras to Jaka for his care shortly after he breathed his last.
Laras was once kidnapped by a group of Black Horses under Ledonggowo assisted by his ally Sri Ambarwati, the leader of the Night Lantern sect, when Jaka Umbara went hunting into the forest. But eventually he was saved by Jaka Umbara and Dewi Mayasari and help from Ki Pucung and Nyi Pucung.
For the kidnapping that happened to him, Laras then studied Kanuragan science and easy study techniques to Dewi Mayasari and Nyi Pucung.
Laras also entered the realm of consciousness accompanied Jaka Umbara and Dewi Mayasari on a journey to find the whereabouts of the Jaka family with the help of someone in Batu Cave, on Tinggling Hill.
At the time when Dewi Mayasari was exposed to the study of the Eye Dissolution that made him not recognize Jaka and Laras, Jaka brought Laras to the royal palace of Suryalaya to ask for help to his grandfather, His Majesty King Baskara Nara Diningrat.
