That afternoon Jaka was practicing the studies he had learned under the guidance of his teacher.
The teacher was originally named Raden Surya Wisesa, but better known by the name Mpu Fencing Maya. He was a traveler from an area called Kertasari, around the hill of Batua, near Mount Chuda.
“Jaka, watch your horses properly.”
“Good, Master.”
Jaka repeated his training from the beginning. Several times Jaka had to repeat his training, but still did not lower the slightest bit of determination he had. He kept repeating and repeating, until his training really gave the best results.
“Already, enough!” mpu Fencing Maya orders Jaka to stop his training session.
“But, Teacher. I haven't trained enough,” said Jaka while stopping his steps.
“I know! you were so excited to train today. But, now it's time for lunch. Take a break! People who are eager to practice also need to fill the energy as well. Don't worry about you wanting to practice so much, but you're forgetting your body part,” Mpu Anggar Maya advises.
“Good, Teacher. Then I'll rest for a while.”
Jaka rushed to Mpu Fencing Maya which was on the porch padepokan. Sitting around waiting for Jaka to have lunch together.
“Teacher, how was my training today? Is there a difference?” jaka asked anxiously waiting for the teacher's comment about his training session today.
“Your training has increased. But your horses aren't very strong yet. There are still many visible gaps. If you can't pay attention to it, it will be an advantage for your enemy to defeat you. Remember that well!”
His feeling became relieved after hearing Mpu Fencing Maya's reply. “Good, Teacher! I'll remember it!”
“Good! You continue your training. I'm going inside. There's something I have to do.”
“Good, Master.”
Because it never stopped, Mpu Fencing Maya tried to turn off his steps by giving a sudden attack. A small wooden block was thrown at high speed. Jaka was surprised, then dismissed it with the study he was training. The wood was shattered instantly in front of him. Jaka glanced around, his gaze found the teacher, Mpu Anggar Maya, who was standing not far from the porch padepokan. “Teacher.”
“How many times have you called, have you not heard it at all?”
“I'm sorry, Master! I was too focused on practicing, to the point of not listening to Master's call. What does Master need to call me?”
Mpu Fencing Maya simply smiled shaking her head. “Are you going to keep practicing till night?”
Jaka was confused by the question posed by Mpu Fencing Maya. It dawned on him that it was almost dark. Scratching his head, Jaka laughed with embarrassment.
“I've understood what Teacher means. I will rush in soon,” said Jaka with a shy face.
Mpu Maya Fencing reversing body passed into the padepokan. Jaka immediately followed him inside.
Jaka Room. The mood is quite quiet. Jaka had just finished cleaning his dirty body from the exercise that day. After changing clothes, he laid his body to read some of the study books that are still being studied.
Jaka calmly read the lines per line of the study book stored in his room.
Every time he finished reading one book, he read another. Without feeling the time is rolling so fast and the night has gone. It was as if Jaka had heard the voice of two people speaking. His direction was from where he and his teacher used to read.
Jaka continued to read all the available study books. Until it came to a scroll of study books, there were some words that could not be digested. He decided to ask the teacher, Mpu Anggar Maya.
