He is, Amaya

He is, Amaya
Baikans

Amaya paused to look at the figure of the man she had not met for a month. The look on his face turned flat and stepped back, ignoring Dave who was on the porch of his house while watching him enter the house.

"May, why aren't you here?" Amaya paused for a moment, she turned to face her mother who was looking at her in wonder. "He's been here an hour. He said wait for you!"

"Just get him home, Mom!" Amaya glanced outwards, she was sure Dave could hear her words that were indeed a little loud. "Maya's tired!" He decided to go back in.

Tired for Amaya who kept getting questions from her mother and grandmother about why she did not return to the city and instead accepted another job.

He also did not expect, the man he thought would never be found again was now at home.

"Why is he here?" muttered Amaya wonder. He chose to take a change of clothes to take to the bathroom. However, when he left the room he saw Dave and his mother talking.

Even more surprised among them was Rose. Amaya believes she didn't see Rose or that pretending not to see Dave made her unaware of Rose's whereabouts?

Amaya goes to the bathroom. He wanted to refresh his body and mind by pouring cold water all over his body that was sticky from sweat.

While taking a bath, he vaguely heard a conversation between Dave and his grandmother. His forehead was furrowed deeply, he was unable to hear clearly. Only the grandmother's speech said that if Dave had been kind enough to petrify all the treatment of his mother also helped the father to redeem the paddy fields pawned.

Amaya did not expect that at all, she hurriedly finished her bath and immediately came out. She would ask what she heard to the grandmother, but Amaya's body froze when she saw Dave standing not far from her. Staring at him with a frightening and uncomfortable look.

"Your hair is wet, but why is there still foam?" Amaya swerved, her hand rubbed her hair that still contained foam. He immediately retreated until he almost fell down when Dave stroked his hair just like that.

"Now it's clean!"

Dave smiled faintly watching the look on Amaya's annoyed face. He doesn't care and grabs Amaya's hand and takes her to the backyard.

The man told Amaya to sit on a wooden bench under a jackfruit tree, while the man chose to stand.

"May, still angry?"

Amaya melengos, reluctant to look at Dave who was watching him.

How could Dave say such a thing? Obviously he was angry.

"Sorry!" Amaya turned her eyes to Dave's regretful face and apologized to him. He sighed then nodded slowly. "Really!"

"Yes. Now you're home!" expel Amaya. He stared intently at Dave, even though in his heart he cursed his words.

Though clearly he wanted to know about Dave who helped his father and the man standing in front of him. However, being still harboring resentment made him too prestige to do.

"But I don't want to lose you a second time!"

Amaya frowned around her eyes, looking at Dave who spoke so seriously. "I came here to finish everything. Sorry for saying everything, I did it out of jealousy. You're not being honest, May!"

Amaya felt guilty. It's not entirely Dave's fault. He was also guilty of not daring to speak honestly just so that the man in front of him was not suspicious. However, who would have thought that Danu would do everything and make Dave misunderstand.

Amaya still silently watched Dave. He still wants to hear whatever Dave has to say. "Can you forgive me, May? I feel so guilty that I'm back on sleeping pills, May!"

"Why bring your mama here? Let's persuade me?" ask Amaya annoyed. Just a few minutes ago he was released from Rose who kept asking him to get back together with Dave, before being escorted to the inn.

Amaya snorted annoyed. "You're right to help with all my mother's medical expenses? Also pay back dad's rice fields?" amaya asked with a look.

Dave nodded calmly. He looked at the stars in the sky. Ignoring Amaya's gaze at him. "Why?"

"There's no excuse!"

"No way!"

Dave chuckles. He then returned the gaze of Amaya who still had not turned to him. "Do I have a reason to help, May?" The man took something from his pants pocket and showed it to Amaya.

"That canyon?" Amaya does not expect Dave to keep the necklace he returned through Fhea.

Dave nodded. "You want to put it back on?"

Amaya fell silent as Dave without waiting for his approval to put the necklace on. The corners of his lips were drawn when he saw the smile on Dave's face. "The necklace suits you well."

"Ma ...!"

"May, I want to start over. No need to think about anything that has happened, nor about how Danu feels about you!"

"Why is Danu the same?"

Dave was silent for quite a while before finally returning to talk, "He gave up on us, May. For that I hope you don't disappoint her by rejecting me!"

Amaya actually wondered what happened to Danu. However, he realized it was not the right time to ask Dave about the man. "OKAY. I'll accept you. But ... I want you to stop taking sleeping pills again!"

"Sure!" said Dave excitedly. He grabbed Amaya's hand to hold. However, Amaya quickly dodged.

"It's late, now you go to the inn. Mr. Budi has come!" Amaya pointed to the car that stopped in front of her house.

"But let me hold you for a second!"

Amaya fell silent. He wants to refuse, but seeing Dave so begging he can't bear to do it and let Dave hug him. Briefest. "Here you go, now come back!"

***

"You don't want to go back to town, May?" Amaya shakes. Last night Dave told her to go back to town, but she refused. He still wants to be with his parents.

Especially when he saw the interaction between Dave and his father made him realize there was something he had to improve.

"Mom's not disappointed, am I staying here?"

"No. Uh, but what kind of man was his mother yesterday?" His mother stared with a stare. Amaya only smiled faintly in response to her mother's curiosity. "Then the man's mother said she wanted you to be her ex. I'm scared, May. They're rich, and we are?"

"But they don't look at status at all, ma'am. Aunt Rose is also a good person, she never differentiates me at all."

"You're right, I can see his sincerity!"

Amaya placed the knife on the cutting board, although it was not finished slicing the carrot. He grabbed his mother's hand and rubbed the back of the hand slowly. "Mother's right!"
