Want to Know the Reason?

Dave did not let go of their hands. He occasionally glanced at the calm looking Amaya while waiting for the elevator door to open.

Not long after the elevator doors opened, they entered the narrow room to head to the third floor where Adam was cared for.

Amaya rubbed Dave's arm to calm him down. He knew there was something the man next to him was thinking about.

"Is the wound bad?"

"No. It's just that what happened to him reminded me of what happened back then!" Amaya nodded in understanding. Surely Dave felt as if he was back in pain from a crime.

"How's the case going? Sorry I forgot to ask."

"I know and am grateful, you forgot because you keep remembering me!" Amaya snorted softly and pinched Dave's arm. He just let go when Dave grimaced in pain. "The case is court stage. The culprit's been arrested."

"That's great!"

Amaya chooses to ignore Dave by paying attention to the elevator button. Letting the man beside her tidy up her hair was actually not messy.

Luckily no one was there, if there was Amaya it would be impossible to let Dave do it.

After a few seconds the elevator doors opened, they had reached the third floor. Just then, Amaya pulls Dave's hand and invites him out. The gaze of a middle-aged woman embarrassed him.

"It looks like someone is guarding Adam" said Amaya as they were right in front of Adam's room door and opened the door slightly, a female voice spoke.

Amaya forbids Dave from entering. "You'll know who he is!" Dave's words and angry look on his face made Amaya choose to let Dave open the door.

She was so shocked to see who was with Adam, feeding the man who was lying weakly in the gurney.

"Lani?" Dave nodded. The look they meet. Amaya remembers meeting Lani this afternoon, even because she rushed her to crash and made her phone screen break.

Now, Amaya knows the reason Lani is so rushed, as well as the strange gaze of Lani. Amaya can see Lani's eyeballs spinning unsettled, as if looking for a safe hiding place.

Amaya cleared her throat and acted normally. He greeted Adam and Lani, as if he did not know what Lani was doing.

"It turns out this bad. Did your leg break?" amaya asked, ignoring Lani's gaze at her. He touched the bandage on Adam's leg.

"of course. They're too bar-bar-bar until they hit my feet with a wooden block!" Amaya grimaced as she watched Adam speak with emotion. "The police haven't been able to catch them yet!"

"I told you, everything needs a process!" Amaya turned to look at Lani who was talking. He said so softly and did not look as arrogant as he usually seems.

"I'm actually lazy to bring Amaya here to look at you!" said Dave who chose to sit on the sofa with his right leg propping up his left leg.

"Why? Bad, wherever he is my friend. Yeah, right, May?" adam asked and Amaya cleared her throat.

"You know the reason, don't pretend you don't know!" Dave glanced at the silent Lani with tightly gritted lips. It seemed that he was uncomfortable with the existence of the two of them. "After healing you must let her go or confess to Ari!"

"Damn!" adam was upset and his frustration grew when Lani decided to leave.

Before returning to the apartment, Amaya asks Dave to drive her to the minimarket to buy some cooking ingredients. Amaya really does not want to waste the opportunity when there is an idle kitchen.

Arriving at the apartment, she lets Dave help her with all the groceries.

"Sir Why don't you bring it here, Mas? It's a pity that he's always waiting in the car!" Amaya notices Dave turning to the sink to wash his hands.

Amaya let out a rough breath and went to the room. He smiled faintly when he saw the two suitcases in the room. "Mas, are you telling Auntie and Mr. Budi to put my clothes in the boarding house?" amaya asked as she approached Dave who was watching.

"certain."

"Pity them, Mommy. They must be tired, especially it's not their job!"

Dave did not reply to Amaya's remarks, he chose to embrace Amaya's shoulders and close their seats. However, Amaya immediately shook off Dave's hand and sat slightly away.

He ignored Dave's astonished gaze and went to the kitchen. "Aren't you hungry? I think it's good to eat boiled noodles!"

"Can!" reply Dave. The man walked over to Amaya, left the television on and sat in the mini bar. "Something else you think. Right?"

Amaya lifted her face, looked at Dave and shook her head. "Adam and Lani have a relationship. I only found out last night when I came to the hospital!"

Amaya lit the stove and sat a pot of water on it. He then turned to look at Dave who seemed to be holding back his annoyance. "Even obviously, May, if their relationship was established long ago and sure enough, when I pressed the woman he claimed to have been in a relationship with Adam one year!"

"God. So is Mr Ari?" Amaya was surprised to hear that. Not at all expecting.

"He's a man obsessed with work. As much as she loved Lani, more love her with her job. So, how do you think?"

"He doesn't know yet?" guess Amaya, but Dave shook his head. "That means he knows?"

"That's fine. May, put the mienya in!" Amaya according. He opened two packs of noodles and put them in the water that started to boil.

"I want to wear sausage!" Amaya nodded, she picked up the sausage and also some chili in the refrigerator. "Ari of course knows, but pretends not to know. You want to know why?"

Amaya fell silent. He chooses to listen to Dave while slicing chili and sausage before putting it into his noodle stew.

"He's prestige!" Dave approached Amaya and put the noodle seasoning into the bowl that Amaya had just picked up. "It looks like it's getting ripe, May. The story will be later, yes!"

Amaya did not answer. He chose to retreat when Dave took over to pour noodles into the bowl.

They enjoy boiled noodles that still let out that hot steam at the mini bar. "It's delicious, May! You're smart for him!"

Amaya only smiled thinly, but there was nothing special when making boiled noodles, only added sausages and chili slices. However, Dave seemed to not care and praised him.

Dave was so excited to enjoy his boiled noodles that he forgot to continue the story. Only after he finished the noodles did the story continue.

"Ari is a person who likes challenges, without Lani knowing for real Ari she dated him because I once gave her a challenge. But if now I don't know, if they Ari really like it or still the same."

Amaya does not know if it is as complicated as the relationship between Ari and Lani. He only knew if the two were in a relationship for six months, precisely when he had just entered work. That is, Ari is Lani's affair.

"Do I know what kind of challenge you guys are up to?"

Dave was suddenly upset. He went to the sink to wash the dirty bowl. "That's a secret, May. But obviously nothing matters."

"May, I have to go home now. Poor Mr. Budi should wait a long time." Amaya noticed something was different from Dave. He seemed to be hiding something and did not want to know.

"Mas, still like nightmares?" ask Amaya. He tried to hold Dave down to open the door.

Dave turned around and smiled so sweetly at her. "It's rare. Even if it's a nightmare, it's not as bad as it was before you became my lover."

Amaya approached and hugged her. "It should have been like this from the beginning, right?"
