Resigns

It was as if he was in a stifling place. The breath of each of them could be heard by the others, as if the bustling cafe had no one there.

There was only the clanking of spoons and clashing plates on the table filled by three adults.

Every now and then, Dave's eyes glanced at Amaya, who looked down, not enjoying her lunch.

"Is the food bad?" Amaya shakes. He tried to enjoy the food, even though it was different.

Ever since I knew who had lunch with them, Amaya was not at all excited. She felt bland and anxious if Danu would say what they both did.

"It's delicious. It's just me ...."

"Surely spicy!" Amaya snorted softly because Danu cut her words.

"Correct?" Amaya shakes. He forced a smile even though it felt stiff.

Without both guessing, Danu without saying anything just immediately tasted the food that Amaya ordered. Amaya and Dave face each other before Amaya decides to throw her face away.

"Your food is spicy. Why didn't you say?"

"Why is it spicy?" asked Dave who looked confused and looked at Amaya asking for answers. "May, can't you eat spicy?"

"I can. You know that!"

"But, didn't you say you couldn't eat spicy because of an ulcer?" said Danu who managed to make Amaya feel so suffocated.

He was confused what to do. Dave's gaze clearly asked him for an explanation for Danu's words before the man finally smiled. "You don't have to panic, May. I've known that you guys have known for a long time, but why not a story?"

"Maan ...."

"I told him. Yesterday when you didn't pick up the phone, I called Dave. Wherever she needs to know where you are and with whom, May. Nothing is covered!"

Amaya held the handle of the spoon firmly. He stared intently at Danu who looked so calm. "I'm not angry, May. Don't worry!"

Even though Dave said so, Amaya clearly knew Dave was lying. His gaze clearly implied disappointment. Dave doesn't like to lie.

"Dave!" Amaya is about to chase Dave out to receive a call, but Danu holds him back. He blocked Amaya's wrist firmly. Without sin the corners of his lips lifted up. Formed a beautiful arch, but Amaya became fed up and threw out Danu's hand.

"Deliver!" Not caring about the gazes of the people in the cafe, Amaya doused Danu with her juice. "That's a reply because you made Dave angry!"

He decided to leave Danu, sure enough if he was a few seconds late certainly Dave decided to leave.

"Where are you going?" ask Amaya to panic. He didn't want Dave to just leave. He didn't want Dave to leave in a fit of rage.

"I have to get back to the office!" Dave opened the car door and got in. "May, I'm sorry that you're upset that our lunch is a mess. Honestly I asked Danu to make her say all that and see your reaction!"

Amaya quiet.

"It's okay, May. Maybe meeting her makes you think of the past. I'll end it all if you choose him!"

Amaya surprised. Her lips were tightly shut, but the clear eyes that were always staring at people with shady gazes were flushed red. His cries almost spilled if Dave did not hold his hand and kissed the back of his hand. "It would be better for you to be with her, than with me just out of pity!"

Dave closed the car door. Ignoring Amaya's cry that can no longer be contained. Really, Amaya did not expect at all what Dave said.

The man said he was just sorry.

"Dave can we talk?" Dave stopped and nodded before finally deciding to enter his room.

Amaya sighed softly and decided to come into the room. He saw Dave look so tired. Leaning his body on the chair while closing his eyes.

"Sorry!"

No reaction whatsoever, Dave still remained the same and managed to make Amaya sad. "I've decided to stop working. It's free if you act like this!" said Amaya. He didn't seriously say it, but it turned out that Dave's reaction was unexpected.

Amaya thought Dave would prevent it, but didn't and managed to let her down. "I know I should have refused your request from the beginning. I should have hated you in the first place for making my life fucked up and you're one of the people who made David end his life."

Dave was silent as he looked at Amaya who was still talking.

"Dave, I really don't know what Danu said. But I could have sworn that I really love you!" Amaya smiled bitterly. "But everything is free. You don't believe me! Excuse me!"

Amaya decided to leave the room. He picked up his bag and placed the resignation letter he had made on the table.

Dave's remark that saying he only pity managed to make him angry. He didn't expect Dave to have the heart to say it after what he had done. Dave managed to make her sure that the man never truly loved her.

"I'm leaving, Dave!"

Last night at the apartment, Amaya was still hoping that Dave would come. However, it turns out that the man did not come at all, not even contacting him.

Amaya chose to sit on the floor while hugging her own knees. He glanced at his suitcase which was already filled with his clothes.

Amaya's bitter gaze scanned the entire room. He had no idea that it would all end so soon.

"I'm leaving, Dave!"

Amaya decided to leave after strengthening herself. He left the clothes that Dave had lent him.

In the lobby, Amaya left the keys to Dave's apartment room to the receptionist before she decided to go to the terminal by taking an online taxi.

"What's up, sir?" Amaya was shocked when the car that was about to take her to the terminal stopped suddenly. He saw Danu walking towards the car and immediately got out.

Without saying anything Amaya slapped Danu in anger. "What are you doing? Resign and go home?"

"It's none of your business."

"It's my business because Dave asked me to take care of you!"

Amaya laughed blandly then pointed at Danu's face. "Whatdoyouwant? You purposely take me away and tell me everything is the same Dave? She's your sister, don't you remember that?"

"She's my sister, but I realize letting you go will only make you regret. I love you and want to fight for you, May!"

"Until you're willing to make Dave hate me?" Danu nodded just like that and managed to add to Amaya's annoyance. She had misjudged Danu, she thought the man would keep his promise. However, the man before him was nothing more than a coward.

"Go, I won't accept you or Dave. You both have no heart!" Amaya pushes Danu's body and decides to leave.
