Amaya just finished completing her wish. He had already tidied up his clothes before coming out of the narrow room. However, just about to turn the doorknob, there was the sound of two people on his phone.
She hesitated to get out, but if she stayed inside the toilet, Amaya feared that Dave would wait for her longer.
Amaya held her breath, trying as much as possible not to make a sound when she heard Ari's voice talking. She frowned as she listened to Ari's hurtful words.
"God, how should I go?"
Amaya's confused. He was so afraid to come out when he heard Lani's words that ignited anger. He could only keep his mouth shut and did not expect that what Dave said was true.
They are both players.
"Now you know, right, that you're just my affair. So, I don't care if your parents accept me or not!"
"Decide Adam!"
"Why should I break up with him? Compared to you, she's better at everything!"
Amaya hears Lani's agonizing voice, hesitating to come out and help her. However, before his intention occurred, his phone rang loudly.
Amaya patted her forehead and immediately received a call from Dave. "I'll be right out, wait a minute" whispered Amaya and immediately ended their conversation.
Amaya cleared her throat, trying to regulate her heartbeat that was beating so fast, but she was caught. Moreover, there were no more voices between them.
Amaya turned the doorknob of the toilet, slowly walked out of the narrow room and saw the two people who were lovers looking at her with different expressions.
Amaya cleared her throat and smiled wryly. He glanced towards Lani's wrist which was tightly gripped by Ari, even as Amaya stared at Lani, the woman seemed to be holding back the pain by biting her lips.
Slowly he walked towards the sink and washed his hands, through the mirror he could see Ari's piercing gaze. "I'm sorry!" amaya said after she finished washing her hands.
There was no response from either of them. Amaya did not know what to say, so she decided not to interfere and quickly met Dave who was sitting on the sofa waiting in the office lobby on the left side of the main door.
"Mas!"
Dave, who was busy with his phone, raised his face and smiled at Amaya. The man immediately stood up while putting his phone in his pants pocket.
"It's over?" Amaya was embarrassed. Maybe when they should have met with one of the clients, his stomach could not be compromised at all.
Amaya, who was unable to hold it, asked Dave to leave first, while she went to the toilet in the lobby. However, Dave stubbornly chooses to rewind the meeting so they can go together.
"Thank you, yeah, Mas!" Amaya took the file that would be the material for the meeting on the glass table.
"Thank you for what?"
"Yes, Dave wants to wait a long time here!"
Dave approached Amaya and noticed Amaya's sweaty face. The man took a handkerchief in his shirt pocket to wipe off the sweat. "Have you seen a ghost?"
Amaya shakes. What he saw was definitely more sinister than ghosts. If he sees the astral beings so, he can recite prayers, while Ari's sharp gaze is more frightening.
He just let Dave slip his hair behind his ears. "Then we go now!" Amaya just nodded.
They stepped out of the lobby, when on the terrace he was curious and turned to the toilet. Ari is walking alone without Lani.
"Yep, yuk!" Amaya nodded and got into the car.
***
Amaya is relieved after Dave and his client's meeting is over. Now they are silent with their own minds.
In addition to thinking about Ari and Lani, he also felt very uncomfortable with the man in his mid-thirties. A man who looks so dignified, but his gaze to Amaya looks like he's looking at you*njang*.
"I decided not to accept cooperation with his company, May!" The dreamy Amaya frowned, looking at Dave in wonder.
The man smiled so sweetly, as sweet as gulali. Amaya's favorite food as a child, if you remember Amaya to want to enjoy the gulali again while riding a ring.
"I know, he just kept looking at you. He doesn't look like a good guy. Before coming here too, I had a chance to find out about him and, yes, you should be able to guess that he had a scandal with one of his employees.
Amaya cleared her throat before speaking to Dave as she sipped her coffee that was getting cold. "But, isn't Mas Dave really able to have a project in Sulawesi? Isn't this a good opportunity, Mom?"
Dave smiled obliquely as he put back his coffee cup. Now only the coffee is gone. "I can find another client, but not the same guy. I don't want to take any chances, May. Danger if he bothers you!"
Amaya snorted softly, though she was happy because Dave was more concerned with her. Dave has proven his point.
"Thank you, Mom!"
Dave nodded and then heard a rough sigh. Amaya chooses silence and waits for Dave to speak. "May, I plan to negate the position of marketing director! How do you think?"
Their eyes met long enough. Amaya did not know what to say, she seemed to be bewitched with such a deep gaze from Dave. Moreover, the music tuned in the cafe was also a gust of wind because they chose a place to be outside, as if supporting him for longer to reply to Dave's gaze.
"I don't think the company needs that position. Besides, all I know is that Ari already has his own company. So, maybe it's time to be independent!"
Amaya cleared her throat as Dave, who was constantly ignored, raised an eyebrow and watched Amaya in surprise. "I support whatever Mas Dave is going to do!"
"You're the best, May! But why does Daritadi keep looking at me? You fascinated?"
Amaya was too late, she immediately turned her attention in the other direction and chose to lie again. "That's so much confidence!"
Dave shook his head at Amaya's adorable behavior. "May, the day after dinner at home, yeah. Mama's first child comes home, so there's going to be a little celebration!"
"Should, Mother?" Dave nodded and Amaya suddenly hesitated. However, he was not happy to refuse.
Dave grabbed Amaya's hand and then rubbed the back of her soft hand. "You take it easy, he's not a creepy guy. Trust me the same."
Amaya cleared her throat, although she still did not feel calm with Dave's words. Amaya felt that something was going to happen.
