The third team left the field, Dawn was in the front row and I was in the back row with a 3-2-2-3 formation, the clothes we used were full scout costumes. At the gate, Dawn received a map containing the route we must pass. A few meters from the school, Dawn stopped the line.
"What's up, Jar. How's stopping?" my many.
"Let's negotiate this route first" Fajar replied.
We also form a circle.
"Jar, the ink is like a blobor?" ask Lidya.
"Yes, earlier OSIS brother said, the photocopies run out, this is the original only stay. And the ink is rather blobor. So we have to keep it well not to be broken. Oh yes, from this map it is seen that Post 1 is near the gate, then we will go west through the path until we meet the T-junction. There is a house in the T-junction side by side with a public bathroom, in the T-junction we turn right down the river. After that on the right side of the river there is a public grave, we will enter the cemetery area following the path. At the end we will arrive at Post 2. From Post 2 we will walk straight through the rice fields and reach the coffee garden. In the coffee garden there is a fork, we choose the path to the right, then we will arrive at the last Post. Understood?" bright Dawn.
"Yahoooo!!!" answer us compact.
"Okay, now we're going to Post 1 on that gate." The dawn said again.
We also re-mined with the previous formation. Step by step we went through to get to Post 1. There were two class people there. One of them said.
"Welcome to Post 1. Here is the start point of this exploration activity. In this post you will fill the absences one by one and checked the luggage. Remember that! the password of this activity is 'MAYIT'. So every time you meet your upperclassman or meet another participant, use the password. If they don't answer it means they're not part of this activity. Understood?" shouted the class.
"Pahaaaam," we answered compactly.
"Alright, please sign on the attendance list and we will both check your luggage" he said again.
We filled out the list one by one. And the two upperclassmen checked our luggage. When all is done, they both tell us.
"Thank you in front, just straight. I'll see the second post. It is forbidden to come back here again, if anyone returns here, then you are declared a failure and repeat this exploration activity next year," said one of the older brother of the builder.
We also arranged a line and stepped west, passing the path. On the left and right of the trail are several houses. The houses looked simple, the same as my house. But of the many houses, none opened their doors.
"Cin, how does the house cover everything?" ask Gatot.
"These houses are many uninhabited, Tot. The majority of people here work out of town or abroad. If there are at most people whose age is advanced or still a child. These hours at most they still take naps," replied Cindy.
"Not a serem either, Cin?" ask Gatot again.
"Yes, that's it. Therefore Karangjati Village is widely known by the name of Mayit Village as the code of this activity," added Cindy.
"What???" We were all surprised.
Cindy just smiled.
"Cin, is there a teacher or a friend of ours whose house is here?" my many.
"If it's a student, I don't understand. But if it's a teacher or an employee, there is" Cindy replied.
"Who?" Gatot and I asked together.
"Bu Ratih" replied Cindy.
"Master Ratih's a math teacher?" manya curious.
"Yes, Miss Ratih? You know what Miss Ratih is?" ask Cindy.
"Bu Ratih is my father's friend" I replied flatly.
"Allet alone one person who lives in this Mayit Village," Cindy said.
"Who, Cin?" ask me with a curious tone.
Cindy answered lightly.
"Whataaa????" We all suddenly stopped our steps so surprised.
"We didn't hear wrong, Cin?" ask Dawn.
"No, Jar. Mbah Iyem is an elder in this village. That's the information I got from the kids. Even when he died, he was also buried in the cemetery here," Cindy replied with a sigh.
We all suddenly shuddered in horror at Cindy's words. Especially me, who was haunted by Mbah Iyem.
"Let's continue the journey, so that we can get to school before Ashar," Fajar ordered.
We continued our steps until we reached the fork some time later.
"Thank God, we have arrived at the fork. Let's see the map again!" said Fajar while taking out the lertas from his pocket.
"Yes Allah .. His writing was taken everywhere in my sweat. Come on who can still read this map!" said Fajar while holding out a paper that was soaked with writing that snapped irregularly again.
"Wooh, wear it so fast. It's hard to analyze anymore" Gatot said as she held out the paper.
After being passed on to every child, none of them could read the broken map.
"How is this, Jar? We can't reconstruct that broken map" said one of the children.
"Hm, okay. Anybody remember when I explained the map near the school?" ask Dawn.
"After me, you said that if you meet a T-junction, we turn right" replied one of the children.
"But just now, the brothers in Post 1 said that there was a fork, told to be straight." Answer the other child.
Some of us believe in turning right, others believe in being straight. There is no agreement between us.
"We have no other choice, neither is returning allowed. We will vote" said Fajar.
One by one we are asked about our choices. Five kids say straight, five kids say turn right. Again no solution was found. Finally one of the five kids who said straight did a suit with one of the five kids who said turn right. And the winner is the kid who says straight. We chose the straight path, hm ... It means choosing not to turn (repot really yes convey it?).
This straight path is indeed smoother than the road that turns right. However, the path is more surup because the left and the right are many ration trees. The further west, the more lush and dark we become.
"Fren, aren't we going the wrong way? looks like there's no ration tree on the map?" ask Dawn.
"Maybe on the map deliberately not written because this village is called Karangjati, automatically many ration trees," replied one of the children who insisted on choosing the path to the west.
"Yes, let's continue until we meet the residents. We'll ask them" Cindy said.
"Jar, what's up ahead?" my many.
"Where?" The dawn asked.
"That's, white-white" I pointed forward.
Dawn and the other children gasped.
