GHOST VILLAGE

GHOST VILLAGE
SECTION 74: A MANDATE

Finished praying at the tomb of little Dance, Mega said that her husband worked as a foreman on a coffee plantation. At dawn, her husband had left for a coffee garden located about five kilometers to the north of the Mega house. It's coming home in the afternoon after the stew. They have been married for twelve years, but have not had a child. In the past, before finding the little Dance, Ms. Mega had been pregnant but she had a miscarriage at the age of three months of pregnancy. Since then, Mega has never been pregnant again. Bu Mega once reluctantly suggested to her husband to remarry in order to have children. But, her husband refused hard even scolded Mega bu all out. According to the husband of Mega, he loved Mega and did not want to hurt his wife. If the problem of children, according to her husband it is a message from God. If it has not been given, it means it has not been trusted by God to educate a child. After all, there are still many orphans or nephews who also need their affection.

"It's lucky that Mega's mom has such a great husband" I thought to myself.

After saying goodbye to Mega, we went home. There's one message from Mega I still remember.

"Son Imran, Son of Dawn, Nak Lidya, Nak Gatot, and Nak Cindy. I ask the five of you for help, please reveal the death case of Tari! So that he can rest in peace. However, promise to be careful and put safety first. I believe the five of you are children that God has prepared to reveal all of this. I'm very sure about that. If you need my help, my husband and I are willing to help whenever and wherever it is needed," said Ms. Mega with teary eyes.

Then I whispered something in his ear. His sign agreed.

We also pedaled the bike leaving Mega's house. Bu Mega waved his hand welcoming the departure of the five of us. We also returned his hand by waving his hand as well. There was a strange thing that happened when I looked back. It turns out that Mega ma'am did not wave her hand alone. There was a girl beside him also waving her hands. This time I was absolutely certain that it was the spirit of Mita aka Dance. I reflexively turned my eyes in the other direction to avoid looking at the spirit of my father's friend, but unfortunately Mita's spirit did not seem willing to let me out of sight. He who I had seen was next to Mega's mom, suddenly disappeared and knew was behind me. He stood on an axle behind me while his cold hand held my left and right shoulders.

"Go there you!" my shout reflexively shocked the four friends who were driving in front of me. They look back.

"What's up, Im?" ask Fajar curiously. While the other three friends looked confused as well.

Mita had already disappeared for a second before they looked back.

"Eh, no. I just want to drive in front now" I replied as I pedaled my bike stronger to get ahead of them.

"Okay, please Im. Let me ride the bike the very back" replied Fajar.

"Thank you, Jar. " I answered.

A few minutes later, we arrived at the suspension bridge that connects the village of Randu Asih with the surrounding hamlets. Fortunately, by driving in front like now, Mita's spirit doesn't bother me anymore.

"We have arrived at the suspension bridge. Let's get off the bike!" I screamed while looking back so that my voice would be heard by my friends.

"Okay, Imran!" the answer from friends while shouting. I had not yet looked back to the front, I saw the old grandmother we had met while leaving, walking behind us in a hurry.

"Well?" I screamed while glaring unintentionally.

"What's up, Im?" ask Cindy while still paddling her bike.

"I-i-it's Cin," I replied stammeringly.

"What's wrong?" Cindy asked me with an eye between fear and curiosity.

I didn't finish, Cindy looked back. A moment later came his loud scream.

"Hantuuuuuuuu...," cried out loudly Cindy with a frightened facial expression. The other friends finally looked back as well. Cindy reflexively pedaled her bike vigorously. Without him noticing, he had overtaken all of us far ahead. Even when he reached the suspension bridge, he did not get off his bike. He kept paddling it so hard that he and his bike passed the suspension bridge. The four of us also did not get off the bike and chased Cindy from behind. After successfully crossing the suspension bridge, I also chased Cindy who was pedaling her bicycle with a bang. It took me a long time to catch up to Cindy because she was really pedaling her bike as hard as she could.

After surpassing Cindy, I shouted, "Cin, slow down! It turns out that grandma just wasn't the grandma who came. His face is so different. Looks like grandma was just a resident who was in a hurry to defecate in the river under the suspension bridge earlier."

Cindy turned her head towards me and examined in detail the expression on my face. After he found seriousness on my face, he reduced the speed of his bike.

"Are you sure, Im?" tanyakanya.

"That's sure, Cin," I replied.

"Thank God then. I was so scared, Im. Look at! My body was flooded by cold sweat," said the quiet girl as she rubbed the sweat on her forehead.

"Yes, so afraid that you will not realize that you have successfully crossed the suspension bridge before without having to get off the bike" I said with a small laugh.

Cindy was surprised to hear me.

"Huh, yeah? Now I'm here. I just crossed that bridge outside of my consciousness. Thankfully, I didn't fall off that bridge" Cindy chanted, still amazed at what she had done.

"That means you can actually do it. However, you are over-preserving your own fears. I'm sure, if you continue to be trained, your hobby will heal by itself" I replied.

"Alright, Im. In the future I will try to fight my own fear so that I do not trouble others" Cindy said.

"Good then" I replied.

We finally got to the fork. This time we turned left. I looked back. It turned out that Dawn, Gatot, and Lidya were about twenty meters behind me. I coded them to speed up the pedal so they could chase us both. After giving the code to them, I turned back to the front to continue the journey. But suddenly there was something strange. In an instant, the tail of my eyes seemed to see a figure of a grandmother suddenly flashed to my right. It was only for a moment, but when I turned to the right to confirm what I saw just now, there was no one. This time I don't want to tell Cindy.
