Chapter 33 The Struggle of Max

Max didn't tell Lucas anything about Cherry. He doesn't want anyone to know his feelings for Cherry. He was embarrassed and he had never felt what he was feeling at the moment.

Even Miyuki and Lucas never heard Max tell a story about a woman.

Surely the two of them would laugh at me if they knew of my quarrel with Cherry, Max said in his heart.

Max watches Lucas and Miyuki in turn. In his heart he said,

But I need their help. I want to know how to break the heart of an angry woman.

When Max was about to ask them something, Miyuki suddenly said,

"Max, Cherry was looking for you."

Max was surprised. He quashed his desire to ask about his question earlier and changed by asking something else.

"Cherry looking for me? When?"

"So he called when you were promoting outside" Miyuki replied as she chewed on her favorite potato chips.

Max scrunched his forehead. He figured it had something to do with Cherry's whereabouts.

"Then, what did you tell him?" max asked Miyuki with a probing look.

"Yes I said that you were promoting outside," replied Miyuki who was still chewing her potato chips.

"Did you say I was a clown?" max asked with one eye.

Miyuki nodded as she ate her potato chips.

Max immediately covered his face with both palms. Then he stood up and grabbed her hair. 

Miyuki and Lucas look at Max who looks very frustrated at the moment. They stared at each other and shook their heads in turn, as if asking each other about the current Max.

Sure, that's why he can find me. Had Yuki not told her, she might not have known. But I can't blame him. Perhaps it was time for him to know, Max said in his heart with a sigh that sounded very heavy.

Lucas and Miyuki are astonished to see Max at this time. They both notice Max's anxious attitude after Miyuki says that Cherry is looking for him.

"Max, is there a problem with Cherry?" asked Lucas from where he was.

Max turned to Lucas and shook his head while smiling bitterly at him, saying,

"I'll stay a while. Please take care of the cafe while I'm gone."

Max immediately leaves the cafe without wanting to hear an answer from Lucas and Miyuki.

Lucas and Miyuki are astonished by Max. They stared at each other and again they both shook their heads simultaneously.

"That's it, just let him. He will tell us later, too" Miyuki told Max.

Lucas nodded his head and resumed his work to promote the cafe through all available social media.

Max drove his car to Cherry's. It seemed that he was in a hurry to meet the girl who was currently making him uneasy. The speed of the car also shows that he is in a hurry now.

Arriving at Cherry's house, Max immediately got out of his car and ran into the house which happened to be open door.

"Well, Mr Max?" chirp the Narsih who was shocked to see Max had entered the house.

"Cherry where's Bik?" max asked with his eyes combing through the house.

Bik Darmi who was sweeping, immediately stopped his activities and said,

"Non Cherry just walked into his room, sir. What need Bibik call–"

"Why did he go up? Do I need to tell the Madam and Mister?" muttered to Narsih while looking at Max who was now knocking on Cherry's room door.

Tok…

The sound of Cherry's room door being knocked from outside.

"Lake in!" exclaims Cherry from the room that is engrossed with her phone.

Chequek!

Enter Max without a sound. She was afraid that Cherry would not let her in if she found out she was knocking on her door.

Cherry's eyes widened when she saw Max entering her room.

"Why do you want to come here?" asked the nervous Cherry as Max walked towards her.

Let's be honest if Cherry's heart feels good when Max expresses his feelings for her. Even his heart was now beating very fast as Max approached him.

However, he could not forgive Max who had already lied to him. What's more Max is a clown who's upsetting to him.

Without hesitation Max hugged Cherry tightly as he said,

"Dear, I'm sorry. And don't be mad at me anymore."

Max's voice sounded very sad and compassionate to him. Unfortunately Cherry can't just accept the fact that Max is a clown that will certainly make him sneeze.

Cherry tries hard to let go of Max's embrace. Unfortunately, the harder Cherry tries to let go of the hug, the tighter Max hugs her. Cherry has given up. He no longer rebelled to let go of Max's embrace of her.

"I forgive you. But, it seems like we can't get close anymore like this. I'm sorry, I can't get close to a clown. And you know that" said Cherry with a firm and flat expression.

Max loosened his embrace and looked at Cherry's face after hearing Cherry's heart-wrenching speech.

"I'm not a clown Cher. I'm just a clown promoting my cafe. If you want, I won't be a clown forever" Max said, pleading with Cherry.

Cherry's heart is getting stronger. She is nervous and ashamed of Max who seems serious to her.

Cherry let go of Max's hand which was still holding her arm and she walked towards the balcony of her room to avoid Max's nervous look.

"I think about it first. Now you better go home. I'm tired and want to rest" said Cherry, who was already on the balcony facing outwards as if to drive Max away without looking at him.

Max stared at Cherry's back who didn't want to see her. He could not force his will. All he could do right now was wait.

He walked out of the room with a feeling of emptiness and pain in his heart.

His footsteps were heavy. His face looked sad when he came out of the room.

Bik Narsih who saw Max walking limply down the stairs, made her feel concerned. In his heart he said,

It seems they are fighting.

Max drove the car very slowly. He felt uninspired and forgot about his current cafe troubles just because of his turmoil at Cherry.

Time and again he sighed heavily as if there was no longer any hope for tomorrow.

"Max... Max... Why can you get involved with girls? So this is the end. Where the girls are anti-stuffed clowns. Complete is your suffering Max..," muttered Max while he was driving.

Suddenly a notification message from his phone sounded. Soon Max pulls the car over and opens the message, hoping that the one who sends him the message is Cherry.

He sighed again when he found out that the sender of the message was Miyuki.

"The video? What video is this?" he said when he saw the video from Miyuki.
