Chapter 30 The impact of the news
"I think those who cornered us were their minions" replied Max, who was still reading the comments one by one.
Lucas nodded his head in agreement with Max. Then he said,
"Quiet down. Now we reply them with the evidence we have."
Max and Cherry agree with Lucas. Now they began to compile their statements for clarification of the news that cornered their cafe.
They include CCTV footage and statements from visitors. Of course the three of them were very enthusiastic and confident with their classification.
Max, Cherry and Lucas believe the clarification could undermine the public's poor judgment about their cafe.
"Finally, we're done with it. Let's go home. I'm so grateful to you two for helping me so much" Max said, smilingly looking at Lucas and Cherry in turn.
"Don't worry about it. It's our responsibility. Now we have to go home to rest so that our energy is restored to face tomorrow" Lucas said, chuckling and patting Max on the shoulder.
Cherry just smiles at the familiarity of Max and Lucas which is very envious of her because she does not have the brotherhood and friendship like Max and Lucas.
He does have a cousin, but not as close as Max and Lucas. He also has friends, but they sometimes can't help him when he needs it most.
"Cher, I'll drive you home" Max said, smiling at Cherry.
"I'm taking Max's car" Cherry said, smiling at Max.
"Let's go outside" Lucas asked after returning the camera to Max's office and locked the door.
After getting everything done, Max and Cherry followed Lucas out of the cafe.
"Just put the car here. Let me drive you home" said Max, who was following Cherry near her car.
"My car's Max's love is alone here" Cherry said, chuckling.
Max chuckles at Cherry's words. Then he said,
"Look, honey, there's a security guard around."
Cherry's face was red. She is embarrassed to hear the affectionate call Max gave her.
"Emmm. No need Max, I better go home now," said Cherry nervously.
Cherry's nervousness can be seen clearly by Max. He held back his laughter so that Cherry would not be ashamed of him.
Without waiting for a response from Max, Cherry immediately got into her car and started the engine.
Max got into his car immediately. He immediately chased after Cherry's car and followed her from behind.
Cherry looked in the rearview mirror of her car. He knew the car behind him.
"Max? Why is he following me?" murmured Cherry while occasionally glancing towards the rearview mirror of her car.
Cherry pulled her car over on a slightly deserted road. Max's car pulled over behind Cherry's car.
Cherry is still watching Max's car from the rearview mirror of her car. Then he took the phone from his bag and contacted someone.
"Max, are you behind me?" ask Cherry who is still watching from the rearview mirror of her car.
Dear, I'm behind you, Max replied, holding back his laughter for judging Cherry, who must have been blushing in shame.
It's true what Max thought. Cherry is now blushing in shame. Even he did not dare to look back when they were in their respective cars.
"Why are you following me Max?" tanya Cherry tried not to be nervous when she said that.
Cherry's heart was beating very fast. In his heart he cursed his stupidity which became blushed and pounding just from hearing Max's words from the phone.
Soon the phone call was turned off by Cherry because she no longer wanted to listen to Max's words that were not good for her heart health.
After ending his phone call, Cherry immediately restarts his car. Every now and then he glances at Max's car from the rearview mirror of his car.
His lips curved upwards looking at Max's car that was still following him behind his car. To be honest, he felt safe and comfortable being noticed and followed by Max at this time.
Max was relieved by following Cherry to his home. He couldn't just take Cherry home on his own without someone else accompanying him.
After seeing Cherry's car enter his house, Max immediately drove his car to his apartment.
Max looked around at the quiet state of his apartment with no one in it.
"Max feels lonely Ma, Pa. Ck, this is all because of that fucking Belek. Had he not been obsessed with me, I would not have lived apart from my family, as I am today" Max said, sitting on the couch.
Not feeling, Max's eyes slowly closed. He fell asleep on the couch without changing his clothes.
Likewise with Cherry, she felt her body so tired. But strangely, his eyes could not be closed just like that. Max's smiling shadow was calling him with affectionate calls always bothering him.
Cherry can't take away what's always in her eyes and mind. He tried hard to shift his mind by closing his eyes while counting the sheep that were in his mind, until he unconsciously fell asleep.
Morning is approaching. Cherry is the same. He is still busy with his studies and busy helping Max in his cafe.
About cafe Max's post is still the subject of conversation. Lots of people blaspheme the couple for trying to drop cafe Max in a dirty way.
However, there are also those who still badmouth cafe Max on the grounds that the cafe is too crowded it makes the performance of the cafe workers unstable, so many are disappointed.
Max, Lucas and Miyuki can't make the guy who dropped their cafe admit defeat. They're still attacking Max's cafe.
It's been a few days since that incident. Cafe Max is getting quieter. Visitors who came were not as crowded before the incident occurred.
"Max, is this the result of what happened back then?" lucas asked the dreamy Max looking in the direction of the cafe.
Max breathed. He thought about that. And it turns out Lucas thinks the same.
"I think so too Lucas. Looks like we have to be more active for promotion again," said Max with a bitter smile.
Lucas looked at Miyuki who was sitting relaxed in the cashier area while enjoying the cake. Then he said,
"Max, we better split the task. You were promoting outside, just like back then. And I'll be promoting through social media together with Miyuki here while keeping the cafe."
Max smiled and nodded his head approving of the idea from Lucas. After that he said,
"Ok, I trust you guys with the cafe. Please prepare the discount voucher. I'll get ready for a promotion outside."
"Didn't you invite Cherry to help you promote?" ask Lucas who stopped Max's steps just one move leaving him.
Max turned to Lucas and smiled at him, saying,
"He's busy at school."
Max immediately headed to his office and picked up his bad equipment. She wears her costume and her make up.
"When a few weeks ago I didn't wear it, but it felt like I hadn't used it for a long time" Max murmured while chuckling at the makeup on his face.
After that Max went downstairs and approached Miyuki and Lucas who were preparing a discount voucher.
"Wooo... Mas clown... How are you?" greet Miyuki when Max who has turned into a clown is in front of her
