Storia 12: Not Secret anymore
Life, when people re-imagine the past, seems like what will be remembered more is memories in childhood. Growing and developing in a family environment, following all the developments in it, until it reaches a stage called maturity. Marriage, building a family, will still be a limit in the life cycle. Friends talk a lot about their marriage, their spouse or husband, or their experience of raising children. However, women always have a certain biological range in their lives. Which makes them have to be careful in determining the life plan. Simply put, 25 years is the optimal limit before transitioning to a new life. But humans always develop with their own thoughts, right?
Her friend Melia was even 28 years old when Erik married her. The news just came out a few weeks ago. And if you still don't understand, try to imagine what people like Sarah have to face when they see their colleagues getting married sooner. Especially if you imagine yourself who has been a little late in time.
Almost 26 years old now. But even then, he still did not get certainty. Of course, Ryan's still there. Which for some reason might interest him. He did not know what closeness could be called special. But he never minded spending time with her, he liked it when they could talk familiarly, the light laughter and all the stories that came were comforts that he wanted to continue feeling to this day. Although there were several reasons that made him not dare to take it a step further.
Women always rely on feelings. Bad memories, may be failures that will continue to be imagined in opening new sheets. Something he might not be able to change, even to what extent he worked on it. Something that may also be the cause of his mistake because it makes men keep their distance. While on the other hand, Ryan actually felt his feelings that seemed to oscillate.
There was a time when he wanted to put an end to all that uncertainty. But he again hesitated, if only this was not the answer he had wanted. True, Sarah has shown some of her signs. The birthday statement, for example, although he still feels there is something missing from the way Sarah treats him lately. He even remembered, if Sarah never took the time again to stop by the house. He who never cooks anything again, or he who never gets excited when Ryan calls, which makes it all like an old habit that suddenly disappears.
Of course he never expected more. It's just that when two people love each other, everything that brings a lot of closeness, something more romantic, should happen more often, right? Is it natural to question his attitude now? Is it natural to demand an explanation? Ignorance scares him of doing something wrong.
He knew he couldn't blame Sarah for all that. It would be wrong if he did. Because even then, he still did not show that intimacy in front of people. Part of him said that he would fix it when the opportunity really existed. How much did Sarah give her. The time left is getting less and less.
Until the invitation came. Erik and Melia's wedding invitation. The shape is even designed with a very luxurious arrangement of events.

He never said anything to his friends. Which he thinks is the latest thing if they find out. Sarah even asked him how they would react later. Even though he would rather tell her not to care too much.
But the wedding really looks great. It was even very crowded the moment they had just arrived. They rented a building, here are a number of hotel rooms for invited guests, which of course at fantastic prices. All the groom's families wear neat coats, while the girls wear kebaya uniforms. There is hardly any room to park the bike outside. Most of them are just four-wheeled vehicles.
Inside, almost the entire room is shades of night blue, black-and-white, and also golden. While the red carpet continues to extend from the main entrance. And the air increasingly feels fragrant because of the fresh flowers arranged neatly in the room. While in front of everyone, there Erik and Melia sat on their throne seats. Sarah could see Melia wearing her silk white dress. Everything that is displayed seems to be only about money. How long they spend. But after getting to know Erik and Melia for the past three years, he came to understand a lot about their lives. Which according to him has a very light consideration in spending money.
“Amazing wedding,” Sarah started commenting when the two had just filled out the guestbook. And he really admired the decor. His eyes widened every time the two continued step by step. Even the ceiling of the room gets a very lively treatment. While Ryan then nodded.
“Did you ever dream of a wedding like this, Sarah?”
“Do not joke.” His mouth, and his eyes narrowed towards him. “Of course it's impossible.” Then he laughed here.
They began to walk, taking another step towards Erik and Melia, then congratulated and delivered the gift. And Ryan can also see both of them are very happy with his arrival. By the way, Ryan was already wearing his best clothes back then. While Sarah was wearing a batik shirt with a floral pattern. He knew his appearance was still too simple. But at least, she put more make up on her face. Which further highlights her feminine session again. But just as she had imagined, Sarah really looked as beautiful as she had previously remembered.
“I haven't seen the other friends?” Sarah whispers.
While Ryan gazed around, and soon found out that most of the guests were old friends of Erik and Melia. Then of course, friends of their families. But he also knew, if his friends would have been here. It was only a matter of time until they met.
He simply shrugged to answer, before muttering and changing the topic of his conversation. “Oh yes, Sarah. You know, if Melia was a little older than Erik when he got married?”
“Ya, so why?”
“No, I just find the story interesting. Moreover, Melia is a doctor right, while Erik himself is only a nurse like me.” He said, hoping his attention turned towards him.
But apparently Sarah had not caught her bases before.
“You seem to like to compare them. Besides, if they love each other it does not matter,” said later.
