A Little Desire Of Anti - Hero
Arc I - Chapter 28: The Pursuit - 3

A yellowish-red glow emanated, the lightning blue snake was seen moving wildly. The trees standing around the battleground started to disintegrate, cut into several tens of pieces.

Taking a deep breath, Rion began to launch a counterattack. The shock was clearly visible in the eyes of his pursuers over the changes Rion had taken.

Making use of this opportunity, the whip on Rion's left hand swung, tying one of his enemies tightly until the possibility of this pursuer being able to escape was zero. The face of the poor pursuer looks pale white, his chest feels tight over the whip of water that is now coiled on his body.

However, that was not how much as lightning began to appear, incapacitating him for a moment with his relatively low body resistance. Rion did not let go of this opportunity, he lunged with a fiery fist on his right hand which immediately began to give his enemy severe burns.

“Arrggghhhh!” The pursuer shouted as the pain began to radiate all over his body. The pain intensified over the high temperature of the heat that burned his body to turn into charcoal in a short time.

“Damn you! No matter the mission or anything! You're gonna kill me!” Fold shouted out the overflow of emotions he felt.

Fold's face turned sinister like a demon who had just been summoned out of hell.

That pursuer, the person that Rion had killed before was Fold's lover.

Although officially the two are not married, they have promised to get married after returning to the Sylius Continent when the team that will replace their role comes around the next two or three months. However, the wish to be able to live together until aging together has disappeared.

“Haaa!” Accompanied by Fold's angry shout, he advanced on Rion.

With a dagger in his hand, his light was now sparkling a trajectory of attack that wildly attacked the figure who had unhesitatingly killed his lover mercilessly and blindly.

“Wait For Fold!” yelled Ale who wanted to stop Fold. However, Marco's big hand immediately stopped him.

“Why?! Captain please let go!” Ale grew even more panicked when he saw Fold who was immediately pressed when dealing directly with Rion, although the other members also wanted to help. However, the hot temperatures released by their mission targets made the other members of the team unable to help for long.

The other team members could only once or twice unleash an attack on their target to buy time, making Rion have to distract from the Fold in front of him for a moment.

Therefore, until now Fold can still stand and last for longer. However, Ale knew this matter would not be able to last forever.

Staring at Marco who stopped his actions, Ale shouted, “Kapten—“

“Focus on your tasks!” shouted Marco stop ‘whining’ that Ale will express further.

“B-good,” said Ale stuttered from nervousness mixed with fear.

A cold gaze was seen in the eyes of their knight captain, and as Ale looked into those kind of eyes indirectly made his guts wither. All this time the Marco he knew would never give this kind of gaze, a gaze filled with indifference to the lives of his subordinates, as if the lives of his subordinates were not his responsibility at all and only concerned with mission.

However, Marco let out a short sigh at Ale before continuing his words. “Fold and I will face our enemies. Remember that! Our mission is to bring the target alive, so I will stop the actions that will threaten the success of the mission. Remember this.”

Hearing this, Ale took a sigh of relief, Marco is still Marco.

Ale now understood that Marco would not have made such a stare had it not been for his guilt over the events at the fortress and the duke's killing. Therefore, whatever happens, the knight captain will make sure this mission is successful.

“Ya!” answer in unison the others while retreating keeping a safe distance.

After the team executes his orders, Marco begins to advance against Rion who is only one step away from finishing Fold.

Tang!

A loud bang echoed as Rion's fist clashed with a large shield in Marco's hand. Although it managed to withstand the attack that would finish Fold, the hand of the shield until now continued to tremble while trying to survive the blows that continued to be thrown by the opponent.

Sensing the power that Rion had unleashed, Marco was a little surprised, platinum level!

Although he could not determine Rion's strength with certainty, but undoubtedly the power he felt could only be released by those at the platinum level power level.

However, Marco tried to survive with his own strength that was at the level of gold level 10, staying one step away from reaching platinum level. Although it is only one level away, but the real difference between gold and platinum levels is not just any capacity, but rather the quality of mana itself which ‘purified’ after breaking through that level.

For this reason also all the attacks released by a platinum level became stronger than the others, even if it was just a low level technique.

Although something similar happened every increase in strength level. However, the accumulation of which purification occurs at platinum levels is so calming that it is often referred to as a turning point.

Rion's mind was now in a state of being fully focused on the battle before him, making his entire senses reach the extreme level of sensitivity he could achieve.

He no longer questioned or thought about who he was facing, but only focused on the one thing that now filled his mind, defeating all opponents!

Feeling that the opponent can defend against the high-temperature blows he releases. Rion gathered more water grains as he began to change the shape of the snake whip on his left hand.

As Rion felt this reached the point he wanted, the temperature in his left hand dropped drastically along with the ice that started to form with lightning sparks still flowing at him.

A very contrasting look is visible. Where the red flame burns with a high temperature fire bath on the right, while the beautiful bluish light is coupled with low temperature ice on the left.

Staring at the opponent, Rion began to punch Marco in a row and fast that immediately formed a solid chain of attack.

Marco tried to defend against Rion's attacks, and occasionally attacked with a sword in his other hand. He signaled the others to attack, but the attack that was launched did not give the opponent any significant injuries.

“Retreat! Give him a long-range attack chain only!” marco's orders after seeing several other team members killed were hit by Rion's freezing cold blow which was followed by a searing heat stroke.

Putting up the shield in front, Marco lunged. “Immobile Fortress!”

Marco had intended to repel Rion with this technique while protecting his subordinates from the attacks of an increasingly crazed opponent. However, his attacks were only easily held by the ice created with the punches which also slowed down his movement rate.

Screaming his tongue, Marco muttered, “It will be harder than I thought ...”
