A Little Desire Of Anti - Hero
Arc I - Chapter 18: Chaos In The Fortress - 5

Xion and the team continued to move steadily, trying not to attract attention of any kind.

The soldiers now began to move in a directional and orderly manner, not as haphazardly as when the shock had just occurred.

‘It looks like they have gotten a directive quickly,’ thought Xion was trying to guess the situation that was happening on the field.

“How is it, Yuzu?”

“Not too good Captain,” replied Yuzu weakly. As someone who holds a supporting role in this team, he is the most aware of what is really going on.

The soldier inside the fortress had now rediscovered his rhythm, unlike before where they had a fog that left his team with a chance. Now the situation is very unfavorable for their team.

Xion's face was serious. Taking a deep breath, he said, “Everything, look around. Although this commotion is not from us, but this will greatly affect the course of the mission.”

Everyone nodded, they were aware that this mission should still maintain its secretive nature. At least until they get close enough and can fulfill the mission even if a direct confrontation breaks out.

Drap Drap Drap Drap

The sound of steps echoing, the sound produced is very minimal, in addition to the commotion that is happening, this is also because the racial nature of this team is very suitable for infiltration type missions.

They continue to check the situation before continuing, caution being a vital point in the success of the mission carried. However, a bright light that suddenly rose into the sky, the light immediately filled all directions, illuminating the gray sky as the sunlight covered was overcast.

Xion and the others looked up, staring at the light that came not far from where they were.

Picking his tongue, Yuzu complained, “As we've already been caught.”

“Well, it looks like we can't do it quietly anymore,” Xion said with a wry smile on her lips.

Realizing their mission will become increasingly difficult as well as the possibility of succeeding in freefall, a gloomy atmosphere hangs in the air.

“So frontal confrontation?” Wess opened his mouth, although it looked calm but he was an acute battle enthusiast in this team.

“Of course not!” answer the others together.

“We just do battle when the situation is urgent, our mission takes precedence!” xion's orders.

Hearing this, the others nodded at his words, even though he was a woman. However, if the others were told to choose the strongest in this team, then Xion was the one.

For the beast-kin nation itself, strength was a major factor in determining who deserved to be the leader. However, Xion besides having a strength phase at the level of gold level 4, he also has a high intelligence, unlike other leaders who are usually ‘brain muscle’.

Which in the end makes this team, although a little weaker than other special teams because it consists of gold level level 1-4. However, it has a high success rate of missions until this kind of crucial mission can be entrusted to them.

“We split, how?”

“I hate to admit this, but I think Zee's suggestion is the most likely for this mission to succeed with the situation as it is now,” Dian grumbled.

“Captain Xion.”

“What's Zee?”

“This is for successful mission but ... Captain, you must survive and deliver the success of this mission.”

“That's for sure isn't it? We will make it back safely,” Xion smiled trying to calm his feelings which now became uncomfortable after hearing Zee's statement.

“Not that. Captain, we're gonna distract the enemy forces. So Captain ... make sure this mission is a success.”

“K-you ...,” Xion looked at the others, Dian, Wess, Yuzu, and Zee. However, they only smiled in the face of Xion's gaze.

“Captain must be safe, if there is no Captain maybe we are long dead.”

“True, even we managed to survive the tragedy, so Captain .. make sure this mission is a success!” tangkas Yuzu's.

Xion realized this action would make the mission success rate increase. However, he still wanted them all to return safely.

Holding back his tears that wanted to spill, Xion turned his gaze towards the gallant castle in the middle of the fortress. His killing intent began to seep out from his body, he had promised himself that this mission would bear fruit.

***

A few moments before in a different place.

Rion continued to walk quietly, so far he had managed to stay away from the patrols of the soldiers. Looking at their increasingly directional movements, he muttered, “This situation is becoming increasingly difficult ...”

After confirming the patrols that had passed, Rion continued his steps.

“Hoi! The person being searched has been seen!” shouted one of the soldiers.

Crowded cheers were voiced as soon as the other guards started to see his whereabouts. Without much ado, one of the soldiers took out something from the small bag they were carrying.

A light bang sounded before a ball of light rose. Witnessing this, Rion's eyes narrowed as a bright light filled the sky for a moment. However, even though this did not make him lose sight, it did give him a bad feeling.

‘It looks like they already know my escape,’ thought Rion, taking a deep breath, she muttered, “The game of hide and seek has finished.”

Realizing that from now on there was no point in hiding, Rion began to lunged. If he was caught today then this would probably be the end for him.

‘Although by force I will come out today!’

Cripple the soldier who saw it quickly. Rion immediately left this place, feeling that hiding longer, would only make the situation even more unfavorable. So far he can manage the situation a little bit because most of the soldiers were brought into battle, but somehow they will return.

“Target visible! Catch the target,” the same call is heard.

Even if he were to escape, the light of the previous flare must have caught the attention of the troops who saw it. Some magic and arrows were randomly directed to restrain his movement. However, he managed to dodge most of the attacks.

Rion's brain is working hard, trying to figure out how to overcome this immediately.

Together with the pale blue light in his hand, a magic was unleashed. “Magic: Ice Lance!”

Huge ice spears shot towards the troops behind Rion. However, the direction of his attack was simply not well-directed considering this was the first time he had used this magic. However, in order to avoid attention, he hides the ability to use magic other than the usual elements.

“Magic: Fireball!” Soon similar mantras began to sound. Replying to the magic that Rion unleashed with fireballs that were soon formed.

As the fireball retaliated against the ice spears heading towards them, Rion's ice spear evaporated along with a thin mist that appeared.

“If only this don't dream of stopping us!” shouted one of the witches.

Indeed [Magic: Ice Lance] included elementary-level magic that could not possibly stop this many people. However, a small smile appeared on Rion's lips.

“Really? What if it's like this? Magic: Glitter Splash.”

Little balls of light began to fly towards the crowd of troops, the magicians who saw this looked like they wanted to laugh as if this was just a trivial matter. But before they can answer.

“ARRGGGHHH!” The pain had first spread to their bodies.

[Magic: Glitter Splash] alone should not have this much impact. However, the amount of mana channeled Rion is not playing and an additional medium in the form of water vapor that can conduct electricity, making the effect faster to make them late to defend

Rion immediately left the place, not wanting to increase the number of people he faced.

However, the sky suddenly became so bright that it made him hold back a step. Unbeknownst to him, every member of the team from the dispersed Beatria Union began to attract the attention of several other guards, and as per the direction given earlier the flare light and illumination magic were lit here and there.

Along with this, the situation in the fortress actually increasingly fell into chaos.
