Youthful Time Volunteers 2
Rani's Identity Disassembled

It turned out that everything was planned, and therefore Martin invited Rani to the factory. Rani felt like she was really stupid because she thought only Martin could make her feel safe.

"Martin..," muttered Rani. "Why?"

"Stop pretending, Rani," said Martin. "It's better to acknowledge your true identity."

"My true identity?" rani is confused. "What identity?"

"Your identity as a Ghevin spy."

If Rani had been so shocked because it turns out Ghevin knew about his duties as a spy, it was not worth the shock at the moment. Ghevin obviously knows from Miko, but if Martin? Where'd he know? And no less important, since when did he know?

"Non-no," Rani denied. "Gue's not a Ghevin spy. I don't even know him."

Martin just grunted. Obviously, no matter what Rani said, she would not believe him. It seems he was so convinced that Rani was Ghevin's true spy. So it's useless for Rani to deny it, because it is useless.

"Lo probably thinks I'm evil" Martin said. "But the evil one is actually Ghevin. Do you know what he's done?"

What Rani knows about the things Ghevin— has certainly done that relate to the reason Martin wants to destroy his gang—only the extent that Rani has heard from Miko. But now Rani is curious to hear it from Martin as well. That way he would hear the story from both sides. Rani also put on a confused face, which was immediately captured by Martin.

"You don't know, then I'll tell you the same thing" Martin said. "Again, with such a condition, you deserve an explanation."

"Gue will tell us from the beginning, from the events of about two months ago," Martin began. "At that time there were members of my gang who saw members of the Ghevin gang being stalked by thugs. In addition to the money taken, the Ghevin gang members were also beaten to the brink. My gang tried to help him, but the thug ran away. Just because they were in the same place, the Ghevin gang members misunderstood me and thought my gang members were working with the thugs to harass him. He then complained to Ghevin, saying that my gang members hit him, without mentioning the thugs. Then Ghevin, without confirming the truth of the story first, immediately responded to my gang members. My gang members told me about it later, so it was only a week later that I went to Ghevin, demanding that he apologize to my gang members. Although Ghevin finally knew the truth, he still did not want to apologize. I kept forcing him, and as a result, I also got hit he—plus two members of his gang."

Miko's story is not as complete as Martin's, because Miko herself was not told the truth by Ghevin. Ghevin may know he has to apologize, but he still doesn't, and doesn't want Miko to know.

"Gue hates Ghevin, as well as his gang members, who like to mukulin people" Martin said. "Therefore I began to devise a plan to destroy his gang. I knew I couldn't do it just by relying on my gang, so I looked for another gang I could work with. My first choice was the Tristan gang, because I knew he was Ghevin's arch-enemy. Unfortunately Tristan refused to talk to me. You didn't even manage to get Tristan to talk to me. So I turned to the second option, the Bastian gang. He hesitated, asking for a few days to think. But if persuaded continue, I am sure he will want to cooperate with me. And he almost wanted to, when all of a sudden he called me to tell me he didn't want to work with me. I suspect that somehow Ghevin knows I'm working with Bastian. He may threaten Bastian, but I have no proof."

Ghevin knew from Rani, of course, and he did threaten Bastian. No one can prove it, except Bastian himself who opened his mouth. But Bastian was too afraid of Ghevin to do so.

"Gue hasn't settled on my third choice yet" continued Martin. "But in the meantime I'm trying to weaken the Ghevin gang from the inside. Coincidentally there are members of his gang whose sister goes to Garuda High School, so by using his sister, I threatened his gang members to help me divide their gang. At first he wanted to follow me, but then stopped so, and was not afraid of my threats anymore. Again I suspect, Ghevin knows I threatened his gang members, and told him to stop."

Ghevin also knew from Rani, because Shandy—the Ghevin gang member Martin meant—wouldn't take the risk so he ended up being honest with Ghevin. I don't know if Martin knows Ghevin assigned his acquaintance thugs to help look after Shandy's sister.

"Gue began to wonder, where did Ghevin know my plan?" said Martin. "It's not that there are members of my gang who have betrayed, there may be outsiders who have been Ghevin's spies. Then I remember, there were people who did not exist before, but now often appear around me. And that guy, I'm sure you can guess it, too..."

Rani gulps. "Am I the only candidate suspected of being a Ghevin spy?"
