Youthful Time Volunteers 2
Dating With Martin

This afternoon, after a long absence, Rani was back in the parking lot of Garuda High School. Martin's reaction when he saw Rani was a bit surprising, because he looked happy. It is not clear, indeed, but there is only a speck of pleasure on his jutek face.

"Finally, it's nongol again" said Martin.

"Why? You miss me?" rani Goda.

Martin grunts. "Gue thinks you're dead or why."

"Damn Martin. Maybe he thinks I'm dead."

"Yesterday I didn't come because I was busy." Busy thinking about Ghevin, to be exact. And apparently, Martin's guess also grazed into it.

"Busy with you?" guess Martin. "Is your relationship with him going well?"

Just futile. Although Rani knew she would still remember Ghevin while with Martin, it was unexpected that it would happen less than a minute after she met Martin. Anyway, what went well? His relationship with Ghevin stagnated. Jammed. Not continuing anymore.

Rani then leaned against Martin's car, lowered her head and looked at the paving block. After his spirit had appeared, and even made him lightly able to tempt Martin, now he actually returned sad.

"Gue is heartbroken as I am," I'm Rani. "It should have been, when you told me to eat him, I nurutin lo. So I don't have to be rejected and heartbroken like this."

It was a shame, Rani cried in front of Martin, showing his weakness. Martin must have made fun of him.

Apparently not. From the corner of his eye, Rani can see Martin leaning on his car, next to Rani. And after Rani's cries subsided into small sobs, Martin then held out a handkerchief to Rani.

"Wear it," Martin invited. "It's clean, I haven't worn it yet."

Rani received the handkerchief. "T-thanks," he muttered. He used the handkerchief to wipe away tears and dry his nose. When he reached out the handkerchief back to Martin, instead of accepting it, Martin simply looked at him with disdain.

"Wash first, and then come back to me" said Martin.

Because Martin was kind enough to lend Rani his handkerchief, Rani complied and would wash it. After all, the handkerchief was already full of tears mixed with snot, so it was a bit outrageous also if Rani just returned it to Martin.

"Hour seven, you get ready, I'll take a look" Martin said suddenly. "Once again, consider it a consolation." After that, he got into his car and passed away leaving Rani.

It took a while for Rani to be able to digest Martin's words, until she finally realized Martin had just asked her out.

"No way. Martin must be kidding."

Martin was not joking. She actually showed up outside Rani's house tonight. Rani is still amazed, even when they have reached the mall and picky movies in the cinema. Almost all the films that are being aired are romantic films, even though Rani is not looking to watch such a film— and Martin knows, too, because obviously Rani told her that she was heartbroken—so the film they chose was a horror film.

While Martin queues to buy a ticket, Rani walks towards the food and beverage counter. Because Martin has already traded him to watch, so Rani's replacement will treat Martin popcorn, maybe plus meua.

Getting closer to the food and drink counter, Rani only realized the presence of someone who had not since when to observe it.

Ghevins.

They stood face to face, three steps away. As far as Rani's eyes are concerned, Ghevin is alone. It just so happens that he chose the same cinema as Rani and Martin. No smiles, just their eyes. It felt like Rani hugged Ghevin tightly, to vent her overflowing longing. Butno. It can't, and it can't.

"For example, if we accidentally meet, pretend we don't know each other."

Rani had already said that, and therefore had to keep it. So he turned around, canceled Martin.

"Rani, wait!" Just a step later, Ghevin clutches his arm, forcing Rani to turn back. "Don't go so. I want to talk to you."

Rani just stood up agitatedly, especially as Ghevin's hand was still gripping her arm. The touch made Rani unable to think clearly. Fortunately, Ghevin soon released his grip from Rani's arm.

"Why are you still seeing Martin, Ran?" sue Ghevin. It turns out that he had seen Rani with Martin, maybe when Rani and Martin were choosing movies. "Didn't you promise to stop doing your job as my spy?"

No need to bother looking for excuses, Rani chose to be honest. Suddenly an idea flashed through his mind. Rani will use this opportunity to show Ghevin that she, as it were, has moved on from him.

"Lo misunderstood, Ghev," said Rani. "Gue still meets Martin, but not to carry out my duties as a spy. We're close now, and even today our first date. The days we spent together unknowingly made us fall in love with each other."

Even in Rani's own ears, her words sounded so fake. Ghevin also seems to be between believing and not believing.

"Gue has to get back to Martin, right away" Rani said. "He can't see us both anymore."

Rani's move led her to leave Ghevin— while Ghevin remained unmoved in her place— felt so heavy. Rani returns to Martin, who has just finished buying tickets. Before Martin could ask why Rani had returned empty-handed, Rani directed Martin to the theater. The movie they are going to watch is about to begin.

Knowing Ghevin was still following them with his gaze, without heeding Martin who frowned in wonder, Rani then took Martin. Rani deliberately did so, hoping that by doing so, Ghevin would fully trust her words.
