Rani's puffy eyes from crying all night instantly caught Melly's attention as soon as they met in class. When Melly had just broken up with Tristan, Melly came to school with puffy eyes, and now it was Rani's turn.
It seems that Ghevin did not tell about his rejection because Melly looked confused looking at Rani's puffy eyes. He started to guess what caused Rani to cry.
"Are you being scolded by lo-nyokap?" guess Melly.
"The last time I cry because I get scolded bokap-nyokap I was when they did not ngizinin I went to school in Ganesha High School," responded Rani. "But I didn't cry all night."
"Why did you dong lo cry all night?" sue Melly.
"Lo must know why" said Rani.
Melly frowned, thought, and then guessed it like Billy. "What because... Ghevin?"
"Who else besides Ghevin can make me cry all night?" rani said, confirming Melly's guess. "Gue revealed my feelings to him last night, but he rejected me."
"Lo reveal your feelings to him?" repeat Melly shocked. "But why? For three-and-a-half years, it has been quiet. Why did you suddenly break in to reveal your feelings to him?"
"I promised to develop my relationship with Ghevin" explained Rani. "Well, I've
tried it, but it failed."
"How are you and Ghevin now?" ask Melly.
"Well, that's not how it is" answered Rani. "Gue and Ghevin will never be able to date as long as I'm your best friend, because that's why he refuses me. If I wasn't your best friend, then I would have had the chance to date him. So why, Mell? Why should we be in office?"
Tears began to bathe Melly's eyes. "Rani, don't say that," said Melly.
Seeing Melly's tears made Rani's own tears rush out. So Rani immediately ran outside the classroom, and hid herself in the toilet cubicle. There, he again shed his tears.
"What have I done? It's not Melly's fault that Ghevin rejected me, so why would I hurt him? What Ghevin wants to avoid is the breakdown of my friendship with Melly."
Melly must have been hit by Rani's words earlier. Previously Rani had fought with Melly several times, but not to make her cry.
Feeling guilty, Rani finally approaches them. Tristan and Melly immediately stood up as soon as they realized Rani's presence. After giving Rani a warning look, Tristan leaves Rani alone with Melly.
For a moment, Rani and Melly just stared. Then, without command, they poured into each other's arms with the sound of their cries.
"M-I'm sorry, Mell," cried Rani. "I shouldn't have talked about it.'
"It's okay" Melly replied. "Gue knows you're just sad."
Melly's understanding aggravates Rani's crying. "Gue just found out this is how it feels to be heartbroken," cried Rani again. "Sickness, Mell... S-it hurts a lot..."
Instead of comforting, Melly instead cried louder than Rani. Melly also must know it feels heartbroken, because she had experienced it with Tristan first.
Finished with a crying event, they returned to class, because they were too late to attend the flag ceremony. At most if later found out by BK teachers, they will be scolded.
"Let's go home with me, Mell, because I want to go to your house after school," Rani told Melly after they sat in their respective benches. "Gue wants to meet Ghevin to get everything done right."
Melly just nodded. With regards to Melly going home with Rani, Tristan will definitely raise his objection again, because Melly has to ride a motorcycle. But Rani doesn't care about Tristan, as she used to, Melly will still go home with her.
To make sure Ghevin was home later, Melly contacted Ghevin first and asked him not to go anywhere after school. Melly said Ghevin was breeding it and would be waiting for him. Rani also thanked Melly for helping her, even without being asked.
Rani could not concentrate during today's lesson, as she was too uptight looking forward to her meeting with Ghevin. Actually, he was not suddenly planning the meeting, but already from last night. Although painful, but Rani began to accept Ghevin's decision. Rather than force Ghevin to accept it, and make his feelings a burden to Ghevin, he would rather just give up.
"It may be time to give up."
