The Pain That Brings Blessing

Riani's matic motorbike arrived at the puskesmas which is almost 30 minutes from Riani's house.

He immediately parked his bike, opened his helmet and immediately went inside.

"I'm sorry, can you ask a patient named Jaco in which room?" ask Riani.

"Oh, that handsome bule? In room 1A." said the sister with a sweet smile.

Riani immediately looked for room 1A. The first class room in this puskesmas which has its AC facilities. Riani knocked on the door and opened it. Jack was lying down with an infusion tube.

A man sitting near Jack's bed immediately stood up when he saw Riani.

"This bule's girlfriend?"

"Eh....!" Riani was confused as to what to answer.

"Thank God mba has arrived. Dizziness I want to say what to this bule."

Riani smiled. "The innkeeper's father?"

"Yes. Now I can go home, right?"

Riani nodded. He approached Jack's bed. The man appears to be asleep. His face was red from the sunburn, and his hands were infused.

Riani's heart becomes pity to see how Jack tries to approach his father even though he has to do something he may never do in his lifetime.

Shortly thereafter, Jack opened his eyes. He immediately smiled seeing Riani beside him.

"Darling....!" He immediately tried to wake up. Riani helped him wake up. Jack sat down and leaned on the head of the bed.

"How are you doing?"

"After getting the injection from the doctor, my stomach is good."

"You must have a stomach disorder because of the food that goes into your stomach."

Jack chuckles. He held Riani's right hand. "Life, I've never eaten rice, vegetables like yesterday, and fish. I'm not used to drinking coffee with sugar either."

"Why did you eat it?" ask Riani.

"I want to show your father that I really want to adapt to the habits here. I'm serious about marrying you, baby." Jack rubbed the back of Riani's hand making the woman feel very touched.

Riani's hand is one measured and holds Jack's cheek. "Your face is charred like this because it is sunburned. Arma also said that you were planting rice in the rice field."

Jack nodded. "Ashik also planted rice even though my waist actually became sick because most of them looked down."

Riani stroked Jack's cheek. That affection just popped up.

"I love you, baby." said Jack and took Riani's hand that was still on his cheek. He kissed her very gently making Riani feel that her whole body was shaking.

The two looked at each other. "I'm getting healthier seeing you here."

"Jack, why should I? Aren't there many beautiful women in your country?"

"But not more than your beauty, dear."

Riani blushed in embarrassment. He who had always been indifferent to men because of the trauma with everything Daniel had done to him, this time was really fascinated with all the kindness of Jack.

"Jack, I accepted your proposal" said Riani to Jack's surprise.

Riani nodded.

Jack's eyes even glazed over. He pulled Riani to be in his arms. "Thank you Lord's. It's a miracle."

Riani also felt that her heart was very happy. He had not believed for a long time that genuine love existed. But now, he believes in Jack's sincerity.

When their hugs came off, the eyes of the two looked at each other. Jack cupped both of Riani's cheeks. Then very gently he kissed Riani's forehead, then went down to her nose and ended up on her lips. Riani closed her eyes as Jack kissed her very gently, making the scar that was in her heart seem to have disappeared and was imprudent.

When the kiss finally stopped, Jack with a radiant face rubbed the lips of Riani he had just kissed. "Thank you for accepting my love."

"Thank you for loving me too. This simple country woman."

Riani blushed again.

"Darling, please get me my bag." Jack pointed at a backpack that was on the nightstand. Riani took it and gave it to Jack.

Jack opened the bag and took out the ring box. He took Riani's left hand and put the ring on her ring finger. "Even if it's just a simple ring, it doesn't mean my love is simple. My love is so amazing to you, baby."

Tears of Riani fell. What love Jack made his heart soar. This sense of happiness was even more than when Daniel first expressed love for her.

The door to Jack's treatment room was suddenly opened from the outside. Sulastri came in and pulled her husband's hand.

"Let's go in....!" Bring Sulastri.

Arya with a pouting face slowly entered.

Jack looked at Riani and the woman translated what her mother had said.

Sulastri and Riani looked at each other while holding a smile.

Jack, though reluctant, finally accepts Arya's bribe.

"A...aow....!" Jack looked hot.

"Dad, the porridge's blow first." Sulastri was angry.

"Sorry!" arya's words made Sulastri and Riani look at each other again. Dad said the word in English.

Arya returns to feed Jack. The bule man ate it to the end.

"You go home. Let me take care of this bule." said Arya finished eating Jack.

"But dad!" Riani Protest.

"What will people say see you guard this bule. Keeping a good name is important."

Riani silently heard her father's words.

Sulastri patted his daughter's shoulder. "Just let me stay here. So that they'll know each other."

"But I don't understand English, ma'am. What if Jack needs something?"

"Just let dad handle it. Let's say good to Jack. Poor Arma's just the mother's leaving it to the neighbors."

Although with a heavy heart, Riani finally said goodbye to Jack.

"Dad will take care of you, Jack."

Jack surprised. "Why not just you, baby?"

"We're not husband and wife, Jack. Dad always wanted to keep my good name. Because I'm a widow. I'll come back tomorrow. Anyway, tomorrow's Sunday so I'm not going to work."

With a heavy heart, Jack allowed Riani to go home.

After Riani and her mother leave, Jack and Arya shut up in the room.

Jack was still sitting while leaning on the head of the bed while Arya was sitting on a chair not far from Jack's bed.

Jack finally picks up his phone and opens a translation app.

"Dad, I love Riani. I know he was hurt, I promise I won't hurt Riani" Jack said as he read a translation from his phone. His voice sounded very stiff.

Arya looked at Jack. "He is my only son. He was injured and almost destroyed. I'll never let any man hurt her again. I just want my son to be happy. You are a man from another country. I don't know you. I'm afraid that Riani is hurt again."

Jack stared at his phone screen which displayed a translation of what Arya had just said.

"Let me prove that my love is sincere for Riani. I will love Riani and Arma as much as I love my own daughter."

Arya crossed her arms while looking at Jack cynically. "No. You sleep." she said and closed her eyes.

Jack took a deep breath. How hard it is to conquer the heart of a father who loves his son so much.

In the morning, Riani and her mother came back. They brought breakfast for Jack and Arya.

Arya's eyes stared at the ring that was coiling on her daughter's ring finger. His heart became restless again.

The doctor who examined Jack had already allowed Jack to go home. The infusion hose has even been revoked.

Sulastri asks her husband for permission to take Jack to their house first. Later that night Jack will return to his inn.

They finally went home. Arya hugs Jack, while Riani hugs her mother.

Some neighbors whispered to each other when they saw Jack coming down from the motorbike. There were even those who blatantly came just because they wanted to see the bule man who came to Riani's house.

Jack rested on the long sofa that was in the living room while Arya called Riani to talk in the kitchen.

"Son, I'd love to see you're married again. But are you sure about that guy? We don't know about his family there."

"Dad ....!" Riani hugged her father while crying. Sulastri and Arma who saw it did not cry.

"Mother, did you let me marry Jack?"

Arma smiled. He was also happy with Jack. Because of all the men who approached her mother, only Jack made Arma comfortable to talk to her.

The little girl ran straight into the living room. It woke Jack up.

"Uncle Jack."

Jack opened his eyes. "What happened, baby?"

Arma hugged Jack as she said, "Be my Daddy." Then he let go of his embrace.

Jack surprised. Especially when Arma kisses her hand with a smile.
