The Defense of a Husband

When Riani woke up, she went down to the side and found her husband and daughter sitting in the living room with Sam.

"What's this?" ask Riani.

"Darling, let's sit here!" take Jack.

Riani sat down next to Jack. He looked puzzled at how serious the faces of everyone sitting there were.

Jack took Riani's hand. "Darling, Cecilia had a miscarriage."

"Even though I don't like it, as a fellow mother-to-be, I'm sad to hear it."

Jack nodded. "And he accused you of pushing him so he fell."

"That's not true Jack. I've stepped behind Cassie. Our distance is quite far. I can push it fast." Riani shook her head.

"Yes. I know baby. You can't do it. That's why we're going to the police station and you're going to give the police a statement."

"good. I'll tell you the truth."

Jack breathed a sigh of relief. He was happy because Riani was not afraid to go to the police.

"We're going there now" Jack said.

"Cassie's coming, dad." Cassie said.

"No, honey. Cassie can't come. Even if they need Cassie's information, they'll come here."

Cassie's pissed off. But when she saw how Riani asked her to obey with her eyes, Cassie nodded obediently.

Sam accompanies Riani as the Almond family's lawyer. Riani explained everything according to the story that happened.

"Good night." Jack got into his car and refused to respond to questions from reporters.

"Honey, how long are you going to hide Cassie's whereabouts? Tell her the truth. I think Cassie's son is very mature" Riani said as they left the police station parking lot.

Sam who was carrying the vehicle nodded in agreement. "Cassie should know the truth, Jack. He might be shaken but at least he should know who his mother's family is."

Jack could only take a deep breath. He wouldn't want Cassie to be with them.

As the car enters his yard, Jack is shocked to see the Smith family's car there. Of course Jack knew there was a special license plate owned by the Smith family.

Hurry down and go inside. She was shocked to see Viola Smith sitting crying and holding Cassie's hand.

"Why do you dare come to this house?" jack shouted furiously.

"You're so hearty, Jack. Why are you hiding Camila's child? He is our grandson, after all." said Rojer Smith, Cecilia's father.

"You don't deserve to have it. Didn't you think when I married Camila you didn't agree?"

"Because you could hurt Cecilia's heart at the thing Cecilia loves you so much. Now, even your wife firmly caused Cecilia to miscarry" Viola said as she stared at Riani with flaming eyes.

"Mommy didn't do that" Cassie said.

"My dear granddaughter, you know just how evil your father is. For years I cried because my son died. I thought you were dead, too, dear." Viola stroked Cassie's face.

Cassie looked at her loving-looking face. The heart of the girl who had grown up was touched.

Jack was becoming increasingly dislikeful of this atmosphere.

"Cassie, get in your room!" said Jack.

"Daddy!" Cassie protest.

"Cassie's inside!" jack's orders.

Cassie moved out of her seat, stomping her feet. He climbed the stairs with a sad heart.

"Calm Cassie. Opa will fight for you!" Shouted Roger.

Jack looked at Roger. "Don't dream you'll be able to be with my daughter."

"She's your daughter, Jack. But he is also our grandson. You have deceived us all. That would be a strong reason for us to get Cassie's custody. And just get ready you village girl, you'll get your punishment!" Viola.

"Don't nullify my wife! Get the fuck out of here! Go.....!" jack shouted while pushing Roger so hard that the middle-aged man almost fell down.

"I'm sorry....! Did I scare you?" Jack turned around and hugged his wife.

"Yes. I'm afraid your emotions are out of control."

Jack rubbed his wife's back several times, then he let go of his embrace and took her to sit.

"We have to work hard, Jack." said Sam, who has been silent ever since.

"I don't want to lose Cassie. Whatever I do, I'll keep Cassie by my side" Jack said with confidence.

"This is not easy" said Sam. Shortly after, his phone rang. He took the call.

After the call ended, Sam smiled happily. "Our bodyguard managed to persuade one of the servants there to testify. She said she didn't see how Cecilia could fall but she saw Riani turning her back and walking behind Cassie."

Jack smiled with relief. "Darling, I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you. I'm sure you'll be free of Cecilia's charges and her family."

Riani only smiled but what she was worried about now was not herself but Cassie. That's why he decided to meet Cassie in her room.

"Cassie....!" call Riani.

Cassie, who was lying down while turning her back to Riani, slowly turned her body. His eyes are swollen. It seems like he was crying since.

"Darling, you should hear from daddy why he didn't tell me about Camila's mama's family." Riani said as she sat on the edge of the bed stroking Cassie's brown hair.

"I hate Daddy. Poor Oma Viola and opa Roger. They think I'm dead. Why didn't you tell them? Maybe this is why daddy never appeared in public with me. Apparently daddy doesn't want them to see me."

"Darling....!"

"Mommy, please leave me alone. May it?"

Riani nodded. He kissed Cassie's forehead. "Listen to what your daddy said?"

Cassie was silent. Riani leaves Cassie's room. He will give the boy a chance for himself.

As Riani exits the room, Jack is just about to knock on Cassie's door.

"How's he?" ask Jack.

"Speak, Jack. Don't let him get you wrong. Riani said and left Jack.

Slowly Riani opened her eyes as she felt Jack's kiss on her lips. "Honey? Sorry I fell asleep."

Jack smiled. He again kissed his wife's lips very gently.

"So, how'd Cassie respond?"

Jack was lying next to his wife, both of whom were sleeping facing each other.

"Cassie didn't say anything when I told her why I hid her whereabouts as my son. I'm so sad because my son is getting further away from me."

Riani stroked her husband's face. "Tomorrow, I'll talk to Cassie back. Tonight let him reflect. I'm sure he loves you, Jack. He may be disappointed but it won't take away his love for you."

"I'm honestly afraid Cassie doesn't love me anymore."

Riani peed at her husband's cheek."He loves you."

Jack took Riani into his arms. "Dear, I'm so grateful to have you. Tomorrow, I'll do whatever it takes to prove that you didn't push Cecilia."

"I knew you were the husband who would definitely defend his wife."

Jack looked at his wife. " Maybe this time keep the lights on."
