The Sovereign of the Heart (Bern & Renata)

The Sovereign of the Heart (Bern & Renata)
Chapter 46

“What did your parents say earlier?” bern asked as he looked at Renata who had just finished cleaning the kitchen. Beside him was Justin playing rubik.

“Dad and Mom asked about my whereabouts and Justin. They also ask about you,” Renata replied with a small smile. He then looked at Justin for a moment, sighing deeply because the boy was so focused on his toy. “They said they missed Justin so much, Bern. A day not meeting makes them feel very lonely.”

Renata accidentally doesn't tell Bern all the conversations with her parents. It was nothing, he was afraid that this man's mood would change if he was told that his father and mother wanted to know about him. It could be bad if Bern locked her up in this apartment like this morning. Renata doesn't want to be like that.

“What did you say when they asked about me?"

“A-what?”

“It's okay, Ren. Justsaytheword. I know your Mom and Dad must be asking me who I am. Yes, right?”

“Where did you know?”

“You're not good at lying in front of me. Just like Amora who will tell me everything immediately once I ask,” Bern said.

“What is so clear?”

“Very.”

“Yes for mercy,”

I feel ashamed to be caught lying. How else. Because it had already been found out inevitably now Renata had to tell Bern about the conversation with his parents earlier.

“They want me to explain who you are,” said Renata a little hesitant.

“Then you answer what?”

“I said wait after I get home just told them.”

“Why not say it directly?”

“I'm not good to you, Bern. They can misunderstand me if I just explain it over the phone.”

Bern sighed. It would not be wrong if Renata answered that. Other than him and his cousins, no outsider knows that Justin is his biological son. This must have made it difficult for Renata to remember that Justin called him father.

“You're not mad at me, are you?” ask Renata carefully. He was afraid that his words offended this man.

“Why should I be mad at you. I'm perfectly aware that you feel awkward telling your parents about me. So don't worry. Okay?” jawan Bern with a faint smile. His hand then moved rubbing Justin's head which immediately made this child look up at him.

“What's up, Dad? Justin's head has a nail, huh?” plain Justin asked. His eyes were like puppets.

“No, no ticks on Justin's head. I just want to rub your head. Can't ya?” bern felt intrigued to hear Justin who thought there were fleas on his head. How adorable.

“Bu teacher says can't let anyone carelessly hold the head,”

“Owh, really?”

“True, Dad. Yes, Ma?”

Renata nodded. Funny to see the interaction between these two men of different ages.

“But if Daddy touches Justin's head it's okay. Kan Dad is not a bad person,” said Renata told his son that Bern is not a random person.

“Dad Justin is a very nice person, Mom. I'll take Justin to a nice house. There's the pool,”

Both Bern's eyebrows are interlocked to hear the babbling Justin who is telling about a large house in which there is a pond containing toothed cakes. Somewhat strange, it also made Bern feel a little familiar with the place his son was referring to.

Is it possible that the house that Justin is telling me is the house that belonged to Grandma Liona? If that's true, how did Justin know there was a crocodile breeding pool? The toothed cake he meant was a bunch of crocodiles? But how does Justin know his late great-grandfather's house when he himself has never been there? Something's not right here.

“Don't listen too much to Justin, Bern. Ever since I met you, he's said something that doesn't make sense. Like now, for example,” said Renata when he found Bern who seemed to focus on listening to his son's strange babbling.

“Can you tell me what kind of weirdness Justin said, Ren?” bern asked, I want to know. He looked closely at Renata. “Sometimes the speech of a child like Justin is a truth. So we need to understand it. Can you say that Justin is something that is secret? If someone else hears it, it can be very dangerous."

“What do you mean? I don't get it,”

“No meaning anything. Now you just tell me what nonsense Justin said. I was very curious. Can?”

With a facial expression between confused and anxious, Renata finally told Bern about Justin who often chattered strangely by calling himself has many handsome uncles. Including luxury cars and magnificent houses that did not escape the babbling of his son.

“Any, right? I was the only remaining descendant in the Goh family, and I knew very well that Justin did not have an uncle like he always mentioned. What do you think, Bern? Normal?”

“Normal-normal anyway. His name is also children.”

“Why did your answer sound hesitant, Bern. You ... are not covering something up for me, are you?” asked Renata, suspicious of Bern's reaction. The man's facial features look like he's thinking about something, and Renata believes it must have something to do with Justin's babbling.

“I'm just wondering, Ren. All this time what film is often watched by Justin until he can issue such babbles?” sahut Bern deliberately throws the question back. He couldn't possibly tell Renata about the advantages his family members had. It's impossible, but it's real.

“Justin I do not allow watching movies that are not intended for children his age. And I think all the babbling he said wasn't based on the movie he'd seen.”

“So where are you from?”

“The world of children is vast, Bern. Justin is not three years old. Whether it's just a myth or it's true, but I've read that at an age like Justin there are times when they have imaginary friends that can only be seen by him. And most likely from there all the babbling of the boy came!”

“Fantasy friends?”

Renata nodded. He then crouched down, gently stroking his son's slightly flushed cheeks.

“Justin, Mommy can ask something no?”

“Bby, Mom.” Justin nodded his head as he continued to play rubik.

“When you said that Dad had a nice house, did someone tell you? Also when you said that Dad was very handsome. Did an uncle tell you about Dad?” asked Renata gently. He deliberately asked this to show Bern about the strange that happened to his son.

“Justin saw it while sleeping, Mom,” Justin replied as he put on his innocent gaze. “Grandma said that Dad was very handsome. Dad also has a very nice house and car.”

“Grandmother?”

Bern and Renata both parrot after hearing Justin's narration of a grandmother he saw while sleeping. Strange, this is really very strange. Bern then thought could the grandmother that Justin meant was the spirit of Liona's grandmother?

Grandma, if it's really you, please don't bring my son into trouble in our family. Justin knows nothing. Let him live a normal life like the other kids. I beg ….

“Iya, Mother. Grandma brought a very good sword. Then Grandma asked Justin to raise the sword. But heavy. Justin's hand until it hurts,”

After saying that Justin suddenly rolled up his sleeves upwards. And what was seen there made Bern and Renata's eyeballs turn wide.

“A-what-what-what. Where did the bruise come from!” bern shouted frantically at the sight of his son's arm there was a considerable bluish bruise. Immediately he crouched down then looked closely at the wound. “Jeez, Son. When did you get this wound, hm? Haven't you and Mom been going nowhere since last night?”

“My hand hurts because I can't lift my Grandma's sword, Dad,” Justin replied, complaining about where the wound came from. “And Grandma said tomorrow I'll be a strong boy.”

“Darling, grandma who are you telling me about, hm? What is Grandma Nandira?” ask Renata no less worried like Bern. Dias yok once saw a bruise on Justin's arm to make his legs limp and tremble.

As I recall this morning there were no injuries there, but why is it now that bruises can appear? What the hell's going on?

“That's not Grandma Nandira, Mom,” Justin replied a little annoyed at being questioned. His lips looked flattened.

“If not Grandma Nandira then who?”

“Name Grandma Zhu,”

“Zhu?”

Renata immediately looked at Bern, trying to find an answer as to whether or not this man knew the grandmother.

“Renata, you will go home by yourself. I want to take Justin away to play for a while,” said Bern suddenly so anxious to know the name of the grandmother that Justin meant.

Something's not right here. Three years ago before Bern went abroad, his grandmother told him about a big secret that had only been known by a few people in his family. Liang Zhu, it was the name of the grandmother before moving on to the body of the woman named Liona Serra Zhu. The clan of these two people is the same, which means Justin has been visited by his great-grandmother and ancestors.

Is it possible that Grandma's spirit came to Justin because I haven't officially introduced her to all the families? But should I do it?

“All is well, Bern?” asked Renata to feel anxious when Bern suddenly wanted to invite Justin to go play. Though the plan after this they will be delivered home.

“Yes, don't worry. I promise I won't bring her home late. You don't mind if I take Justin for a minute?”

“Of course not. The important thing is that you can take good care of it.”

“Don't worry about that problem. Justin is my son, so I will take very good care of him beyond my own life.”

“Yes already then you guys get ready,”

Bern nodded. He then asked Justin to prepare. Bern plans to go on a pilgrimage to the graves of his grandparents, and introduce Justin to them.

Why do I feel weird about Bern's attitude huh? Does he know Grandma Zhu?
